Printing process, wherein a substrate to be printed is arranged opposite an ink carrier with an ink layer, which is irradiated regionally by a laser beam, characterized in that the ink layer comprises reflective particles and a soluble polymer having a weight average (Mw) molecular weight of more than 250000g/mol, wherein the weight average (Mw) molecular weight of the soluble polymer is determined according to DIN 55672-2: 2016-3.

2. Printing method according to claim 1, characterized in that the soluble polymer has a weight average (Mw) molecular weight of 250000g/mol to 2500000 g/mol.

3. Printing process according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the soluble polymer has a weight average (Mw) molecular weight of 250000g/mol to 1500000 g/mol.

4. Printing method according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the proportion of soluble polymer is 0.05 to 2% by weight of the total ink mixture.

5. Printing process according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the proportion of soluble polymer is between 0.05 and 1% by weight of the total ink mixture.

6. Printing method according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the proportion of soluble polymer is between 0.1 and 0.8% by weight of the total ink mixture.

7. Printing process according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the soluble polymers used comprise cellulose esters, cellulose nitrates, cellulose ethers, more particularly hydroxypropylcellulose, polyurethanes or vinyl polymers.

8. Printing method according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the reflective particles consist of a metal or a metal-coated carrier material.

9. Printing process according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the reflective particles used have an average particle size of 0.1 to 10 μm.

10. Printing method according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the reflective particles used are particles having a value of L in L a b color space of more than 50, preferably more than 70, more preferably more than 80, and are particles having a value of a and/or b in L a b color space of less than +/-5, preferably +/-3.

11. Use of an ink having reflective particles and a soluble polymer having a weight average (Mw) molecular weight of more than 250000g/mol in a printing method according to one of claims 1 to 10.
