Technical Field

The present invention relates to insulated doors for temperature controlled embodiments.

Background

Freezers are used in commercial, institutional and residential applications to store and/or display refrigerated or frozen items. The cooler may be maintained at a temperature above freezing (e.g., a refrigerator) or below freezing (e.g., an ice chest). The cooler has one or more insulated doors or windows for viewing and accessing refrigerated or frozen items within the temperature controlled space. The door of the cooler typically includes an insulated glass panel assembly.

Displaying content on a refrigerated display cabinet door can be an effective way to advertise products. Refrigerated display cabinet doors with embedded display panels can be expensive and difficult to maintain. There is a continuing need for improved methods of displaying content in refrigerated display cabinet doors.

Embodiments may provide a cheaper alternative to a door with an embedded display. Embodiments may improve the maintainability of an electronic display mounted to a door. For example, embodiments of the present disclosure may make an electronic display mounted to a display cabinet door easier to replace or maintain without removing the entire display cabinet door. Embodiments of the present disclosure may also allow a display cabinet door with an installed electronic display to be held close to the original cabinet (e.g., a door with a thin profile) so that the door does not interfere with the movement of other doors in a continuous arrangement. For example, embodiments may allow display cabinet doors with electronic displays to be installed in a continuous array of doors (e.g., in supermarket aisles) without changing the installation configuration of the doors or the spacing between the doors to accommodate the thickness of the electronic display.

The details of one or more embodiments of the invention are set forth in the accompanying drawings and the description below. Other features, objects, and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the description and drawings, and from the claims.
