Technical Field

The invention relates to storage bin products, in particular to a box-type device which can be opened and closed conveniently and can be selectively opened and closed to change the length of the box-type device and similar structures thereof.

Background

Foldable or openly collapsible box structures are a popular topic that is relatively old. Representative such structures typically relate to luggage, suitcases, briefcases, and similar extension box-like structures that are sized to ensure that they contain more items for convenient transport and carrying. Box structures of this type are typically provided with concertina type telescopic interlayers between the front and rear panel surfaces. They are therefore limited in their widespread use, that is to say, despite being able to be telescopically opened and closed, they are limited in their overall thickness to provide only a limited slight variation, while at the same time their basic function and the volume of the articles that can be accommodated are limited.

Although there are also large collapsible or collapsible box structures such as collapsible truck trailers and shipping containers, the machinery for handling these box structures is exceptionally heavy and complex, often requiring heavy machinery to handle such box structures. It would therefore be desirable to provide a retractable box-type structure that is versatile and more versatile than known conventional retractable box-type structures, and that can be manipulated in a more convenient manner for such retractable shipping containers, truck trailers, and other similar box-type devices. The invention aims to solve the technical problem of providing a box type device capable of being opened and closed by convenient operation, which has a simple structure and convenient operation, easily realizes the telescopic opening and closing of a box type structure, and overcomes the defects of the existing folding box type structure.

In order to solve the above technical problems, the present invention provides an openable and closable box-type device with convenient operation, which includes an openable and closable support frame assembly. The support frame assembly includes a plurality of open support frames, a plurality of scissor linkages, and a plurality of vertically extending plates hingedly connected to one another. The plurality of open support frames includes two corresponding end frames at both ends of the unitary elongated frame. Two adjacent open type supporting frames are in adjustable opening and closing connection through a corresponding single-stage scissor type connecting rod mechanism.

Each single-stage scissor type connecting rod mechanism comprises a first main fork rod and a second main fork rod which are hinged with each other, the first main fork rod of each single-stage scissor type connecting rod mechanism is provided with a first rod end and a second rod end corresponding to the first main fork rod, and the second main fork rod of each single-stage scissor type connecting rod mechanism is also provided with a first rod end and a second rod end corresponding to the second main fork rod. The rod ends of the first main fork rod and the second main fork rod are slidably arranged on one corresponding open type supporting frame, and the rod ends of the first main fork rod and the second main fork rod are slidably arranged on the other open type supporting frame adjacent to the first main fork rod and the second main fork rod. And the second rod end of the centering balance tappet is hinged with the middle position of any main fork rod of the single-stage scissor type linkage mechanism.

A pair of hinged vertically extending panels are hinged to a pair of adjacent open support frames and are capable of opening and closing and extending movement therebetween. The two terminal closed chambers are relatively pulled away from the first terminal closed chamber, so that the supporting frames can be separated and extended, and the hinged vertical extending plates are directly unfolded to form double-sided side walls of the box type device which can be opened and closed in convenient operation. And then, pulling the second end plates of the upper folding plate and the lower folding plate along the direction of the second closed cabin of the box-type device which can be opened and closed by convenient operation to immediately form the upper closed panel and the lower closed panel of the box-type structure. A linear power unit may be used to drive the opening and closing movement of the support frame assembly.

Detailed Description

The openable box-type device 10 of this embodiment is an extendable and retractable storage bin. Fig. 1 shows the fully deployed state of the walk-in box-type device 10, and fig. 2 shows the relatively closed state of the walk-in box-type device 10. It should be noted here that the structures and sizes shown in fig. 1 and 2 are for exemplary reference only.

The easy-to-operate openable box-type apparatus 10, best seen in figures 3, 4 and 6, includes an openable support frame assembly 12. The assembly 12 has a set of open support frames 14, 16, 18 and 22, a set of scissor linkages 20 and a set of hinged vertically extending plates 70. The set of open support frames includes a first support end frame 14 and a second support end frame 16 at opposite ends of a set of inner support frames 18 and 22, respectively. Adjacent open support frames are opened and closed by articulating to each other with a single stage independent scissor linkage 20.

Fig. 3 and 4 show 4 open support frames 14, 16, 18 and 22. However, it should be understood that any number of support frames may be installed between the first support end frame 14 and the second support end frame 16 without limitation. As shown in fig. 3, each of the open support frames 14, 16, 18 and 22 is rectangular in shape, it being noted that the structure of each open support frame should be identical. As shown in fig. 5 (illustrating open support frames 22), each open support frame may include an upper end 38, a lower end 44, and a pair of side beams 40 and 42.

Each single stage scissor linkage 20 includes a first main fork 24 and a second main fork 26, each pivotally connected to each other at a central location by a main pin or shaft, typically a single degree of freedom scissor linkage. The first main fork 24 of the single stage scissor linkage 20 has a first rod end 30 and a second rod end 32 opposite each other, and the second main fork 26 also has a first rod end 34 and a second rod end 36 opposite each other. The first and second main forks 24 and 26 have their respective rod ends 30 and 34 slidably mounted to one of a plurality of open support frames (e.g., open support frame 22 shown in fig. 4), and the second and second rod ends 32 and 36 slidably mounted to another support frame adjacent to the one support frame (e.g., open support frame 16 shown in fig. 4).

As shown in fig. 5, each open support frame (e.g., open support frame 22 shown in fig. 5) has mounted thereon a parallel plate 46, parallel to and adjacent to bottom end 44, for sliding movement as the rod end of a single stage scissor-type main fork. A pair of horizontally extending slots 52 and 54 are provided in the bottom end 44 as shown in fig. 5. A pair of corresponding horizontally extending slots 48 and 50 are also formed in the parallel plate 46. As shown in fig. 3, the first main fork 24 of the single-stage scissor linkage 20 includes a pair of parallel strips spaced apart from each other, and the second main fork 26 of each scissor linkage 20 is a rectangular or square strip and is movable within the spaced apart gaps of the first main fork 24. An axle pin or pin extends through the first rod end 30 of the first main fork 24 of the scissor linkage 20 and the second rod end 36 of the second main fork 26 of the scissor linkage 20 of the support frame adjacent thereto and is slidably mounted in the horizontally extending slots 48 and 52; an axle pin or pin extends through the first rod end 34 of the second main fork 26 of the scissor linkage 20 and the second rod end 32 of the first main fork 24 of the support frame adjacent thereto and is slidably mounted in the horizontally extending slots 50 and 54. Each of the pair of centering counter lifters 28 has a length corresponding to 1/4 of the length of the first main fork 24 or the second main fork 26, and has two rod ends one 60 and two rod ends two 62, respectively, the rod ends one 60 being hingedly connected by a pin or axle to the center 32 of the bottom end 44 of one of the set of open support frames (e.g., support frame 18), and the rod ends two 62 being hingedly connected by a pin or axle to the open support frame 18 at 1/4 of the length of the main fork 24 on the corresponding set of scissor linkages 20, i.e., midway between the rod ends one 30 of the first main fork 24 connected to the open support frame 18 and the center pin of the main forks 24 and 26. Referring again to FIG. 5, a pair of concentric central bores 56, 58 are formed in each of the parallel plate 46 and the bottom end 44 for articulating a rod end 60 of the centering counterbalancing ram 28 to the open support frame.

Each of the hinged vertically extending plates 70 is mounted to and extends between an adjacent pair of the plurality of open support frames 14, 16, 18 and 22, respectively. In fig. 6, 8 and 9, only the single-sided hinged vertically extending panel 70 is shown, for clarity only, and in fig. 6, 8 and 9 the single-sided vertically extending panel of the easy access openable box-type apparatus 10 is in an open and uncovered position. The other side of the hinged vertically extending panel 70 is shown in fig. 1 as opposed to the horizontally vertically extending panel shown in fig. 6, 8 and 9, i.e., the portable openable box-type apparatus 10 is concealed on both sides by the side wall formed by a separate hinged vertically extending panel 70.

As shown in fig. 9, terminal closure one 80 is secured to support end frame one 14 and terminal closure two 106 is secured to support end frame two 16. The second terminal enclosure 106 includes an open outer frame 120 and a flip door 108 pivotally secured thereto as shown in fig. 9. In addition, terminal enclosure one 80 has a set of road wheels 122 affixed thereto for changing the direction of travel, and similarly terminal enclosure two 106 has a set of road wheels 124 affixed thereto for changing the direction of travel.

As shown in fig. 7 and 8, the fixed end panel 94 of the closeout flap 82 is hinged to the upper end 96 of the first capsule 80. The fixed end panel 102 of the lower flap 84 is hinged to the lower end 98 of the first capsule 80. The top cover folding plate 82 has a set of upper roller sets 110 mounted thereon and the lower cover folding plate 84 has a set of lower roller sets 112 mounted thereon.

As shown in fig. 8, each set of hinged vertically extending plates 70 has a set of upper rails 90 and a set of lower rails 92 mounted thereon, the upper roller set 110 rolling within the upper rails 90 and the lower roller set 112 rolling within the lower rails 92. As shown in fig. 7, the first enclosure 80 is fitted with similar upper and lower rails 86, 88, the upper rail 86 seamlessly joining the upper run 90 to form a continuous path of the upper run, and similarly, the lower rail 88 seamlessly joining the lower run 92 to form a continuous path of the lower run.

As shown in FIG. 6, each set of hinged vertical extension plates 70 includes a first hinge plate 72 and a second hinge plate 74, respectively. The first hinge plates 72 each have a first vertically extending side 76 and a second vertically extending side 78, and the second hinge plates 74 each have a first vertically extending side 81 and a second vertically extending side 83. The folded support frame assembly 12 is unfolded by pulling the first end enclosure 80 outward from the second end enclosure 106 and drives the hinged vertical extension panel 70 to unfold and form two extendable side walls of the portable collapsible box-type apparatus 10. The free end plates 100 and 104 of the top sealed folding plate 82 and the low sealed folding plate 84 are respectively pulled towards the direction of the terminal closed compartment II 106, and the top sealed folding plate 82 and the low sealed folding plate 84 can be unfolded to form an upper top cover plate and a lower bottom cover plate of the openable box type device 10 which can be opened and closed conveniently. The roller 110 of the top cover folding plate 82 runs smoothly and linearly on the upper running rail 90, and the roller 112 of the bottom cover folding plate 84 runs smoothly and linearly on the lower running rail 92.

As shown in fig. 3 and 4, a linear power unit 64 may be used to drive the opening and closing of the folding support frame assembly 12. The linear power unit 64 has corresponding first and second ends, the first end being hingedly connected to a central location 68 of the first main fork lever 24 of the single stage scissor linkage 20. The corresponding second end is hinged to a central location 66 of the bottom end 44 of the set of open support frames (such as the open support frame 22 shown in fig. 4). It should be understood that the linear power unit 64 may be mounted between any two adjacent open-close support frames. The linear power unit 64 may be a hydraulic, pneumatic or electric cylinder with an extendable barrel piston therein.

Another embodiment, as shown in FIG. 10, is similar to the previous embodiment in that the easy access collapsible box-type apparatus 200 includes a collapsible support frame assembly 212 having a plurality of open support frames 214, 216 and 218, a plurality of hinged vertically extending panels 270, a first terminal enclosure 280, a second terminal enclosure 206, a lower seal flap 284, and a top seal flap 282. However, as shown, the scissor linkage 20 of the previous embodiment is replaced by a corresponding telescopic power unit 220.

It should be understood that the device of the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments, but also includes any and all embodiments shown in the drawings and described in the claims, and those skilled in the art can make various modifications, equivalent changes or modifications based on the above-mentioned disclosure.
