Technical Field

The present invention relates to an operating table, and more particularly to an operating table having a motorized table top.

Background

Nursing staff, such as nursing nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, etc., must use different medical instruments while working in the operating room. Therefore, the care giver must be familiar with the operation of the various instruments which, because of their functionality, are equipped with a large number of user interfaces which are complicated to operate. Moreover, the user interface must always be freely operable by the caregiver.

In addition, some surgical procedures require precise positioning of the patient. This positioning can be achieved by, for example, pressing a button of the remote control. However, it is difficult to achieve precise positioning of the table top portion of the operating table.

Disclosure of Invention

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an operating table which can be operated intuitively on the operating table.

According to one aspect of the present invention, an operating table includes a table top having a plurality of table top sections, and a column for supporting the table top by supporting one of the table top sections. Furthermore, the operating table comprises at least one operating unit. One of the table sections is a movable table section configured to be moved electrically relative to at least one of the adjacent table section and the column, and an operation unit is fixed to the movable table section to drive the movement.

By providing such an operating table, it is possible to operate the individual table sections intuitively, since at least one operating unit is fixed to a specific movable table section and no search and hand-held remote control is necessary. The positioning of the patient will thus become an effortless process, also for small adjustments. In this manner, the caregiver can more easily position the patient to the correct desired location without having to grasp the tab. Furthermore, fine adjustment of the positioning can be performed more intuitively, because the driver of the table portion can assist in performing the hand motion for driving the operation unit.

In an advantageous embodiment, the operating unit has a drive direction, which corresponds to the direction of movement of the movable first table top section.

When the driving direction corresponds to the moving direction of the movable face part, the operating table operation is more intuitive without regard to the use of the operating element.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the movable table top section has a lying surface, the operating unit is configured to be drivable from the side of the lying surface, and the additional operating unit is configured to be drivable from the opposite side of the lying surface.

By driving the operating unit from the lying surface side and the opposite side of the lying surface side, the drive and the movement of the table portion can be appropriately distributed so as to realize a specific posture of the patient.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the movable table-top part is provided with a compressible pad on the lying side, the operating unit being provided below the lying surface provided by the pad.

Since the position of the operation unit is below the lying surface provided by the pad, by pressing the pad from the pad side, there is no need to find the operation unit, so that by pressing on the pad, an intuitive operation of moving the table portion downward is easily performed.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the movement of the movable table top section comprises tilting relative to the adjacent table top section.

By tilting the table portion relative to the adjacent table portion, proper patient positioning for a particular procedure can be intuitively achieved.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the table top has a longitudinal axis, and the movement of the portion of the table top supported by the column comprises tilting about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis.

By tilting the table top portion about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis, proper patient positioning for a particular procedure can be intuitively achieved.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the table top has a longitudinal axis, the movement of the portion of the table top supported by the column comprising tilting about an axis parallel to an axis perpendicular to said longitudinal axis.

By tilting the table top portion about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, proper patient positioning for a particular procedure can be intuitively achieved. In addition, the Trendelenburg position and the anti-Trendelenburg position can be easily achieved.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the movement of the table portion supported by the column comprises a displacement along the longitudinal axis or a displacement in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Thanks to these features, displacement of the table top relative to the column can also be intuitively achieved, moving the patient to a position for convenient surgery.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the action of the part of the table top supported by the column comprises a height adjustment of the table top.

By this feature, the height of the table top can also be intuitively adjusted to move the patient to a position for convenient surgery.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the operating unit comprises a force-sensitive sensor for driving a drive for moving the table-top section, such that the speed of the movement is dependent on the force applied to the sensor.

When the operating table is equipped with these features, fine control of the movement of the table top section can be achieved by pressing the operating unit with the correct force.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the operating unit comprises a sensor touchpad serving as a force-sensitive sensor.

By using the sensor touch pad in the operation unit, a reliable operation unit can be simply constructed, because the sensor touch pad can be implemented to be liquid and disinfectant proof, and to be resistant to mechanical breakage.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the at least two operating units comprise color codes having different colors.

Due to the arrangement of color codes with different colors, the driver can be assigned a specific function, such as a Trendelenburg position (e.g., red), an anti-Trendelenburg position (e.g., green), tilt, or shift, or be assigned a specific direction of motion.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the operating table is equipped with an activation unit for activating the operating unit, the operating table being configured to switch off the operating unit after a period of time.

In order to avoid a dangerous situation, the operating unit has to be activated by the activation unit, so that the operating unit cannot be driven unintentionally, but the operating unit can only be activated intentionally. Furthermore, after a certain time, for example 10 seconds, the operating unit can be automatically switched off again, so that subsequent unintentional actuation does not occur.

According to another aspect of the invention, a method for moving a movable top portion of a surgical table comprises: a driver for moving the movable table top section relative to at least one of the adjacent table top section and the column is driven by activating an operating unit fixed to the movable table top section.

By this step, the table portion can be intuitively operated because the operation unit is fixed to the designated table portion and there is no need to search for and hold the remote controller with hands. The positioning of the patient will thus become a painless procedure, also for small adjustments. In this manner, the caregiver can more easily position the patient to the correct desired location without having to grasp the tab. Furthermore, fine adjustment of the positioning can be performed more intuitively, because the driver of the table portion can assist in performing the hand motion for driving the operation unit.

In an advantageous embodiment, the operating unit is driven by a specific application force in order to activate the actuator at a speed based on the application force.

The drive for moving the movable table portion can be intuitively activated by applying a certain application force, so that the greater the force, the faster the table portion moves. Based on this feature, the speed of adjustment of the movable table portion can be intuitively controlled.
