1. A tape feeder includes:

a feeder main body having an insertion portion into which a leading end of a carrier tape in which electronic components are stored is inserted and a supply portion for supplying the electronic components to an electronic component mounting machine;

a drive device provided in the feeder main body and configured to transport the carrier tape;

a detection sensor that detects a leading end of the carrier tape on a transport path between the insertion section and the supply section; and

a control device for controlling the drive device so as to transport the carrier tape inserted into the insertion section to the supply section, and performing a loading process for loading the carrier tape,

a plurality of chambers for respectively accommodating the electronic components are formed on the carrier tape at predetermined intervals along a conveying direction,

in the loading process, the controller starts the transport of the carrier tape and positions the first chamber at a predetermined position in the feeder main body based on a detection result of the detection sensor when the carrier tape, which is adjusted in advance so that a length from a first chamber, in which the electronic component is first stored, among the plurality of chambers to a leading end of the carrier tape from a leading end side is a predetermined length, is inserted into the insertion portion.

2. The tape feeder of claim 1,

the carrier tape has:

a base tape formed with the chamber; and

a cover tape for blocking the opening of the chamber,

the tape feeder further comprises a tape guide provided on the supply part of the feeder main body,

the tape guide has:

a guide body;

a peeling device provided to the guide body to peel the cover tape from the base tape so as to leave a part of the cover tape in a width direction; and

and a bending device provided in the guide body and bending a portion of the cover tape peeled from the base tape.

3. The tape feeder of claim 2,

the bending device has a limiting part which is contacted with the edge part in the width direction of the back surface of the bent cover tape and maintains the state of the bent cover tape,

the predetermined length is set to be equal to or longer than a length from the supply portion to the regulating portion in the transport direction of the carrier tape.

4. The tape feeder of claim 2 or 3,

the tape feeder further includes a biasing device that biases the guide body toward the rail so that the carrier tape is held between the rail constituting the conveyance path and the guide body.

5. The tape feeder of claim 4,

the peeling device has a peeling blade that cuts into the adhesive portion between the base tape and the cover tape,

at the initial stage of the peeling of the carrier tape by the peeling blade, the front end of the base tape passing through the cutting position of the peeling blade lifts the peeling blade to the opposite side of the rail against the urging force of the urging means,

the predetermined length is set to be equal to or longer than a length from the cut-in position to a position where the lifting of the base tape is completed in the transport direction of the carrier tape.

6. The tape feeder of any one of claims 1 to 5,

the drive device comprises a sprocket wheel with a plurality of engaging projections arranged at equal intervals along the circumferential direction,

a plurality of engaging holes that engage with the engaging projections of the sprocket are formed in the carrier tape at predetermined intervals along a transport direction of the carrier tape,

the predetermined length is set such that the length from the first chamber to the tip side is 2 times or more the interval between the engagement holes and 5 times or less the interval between the engagement holes.

7. The tape feeder of any one of claims 1 to 6,

the predetermined length is set to a length shifted from the chamber for housing the electronic component at a front end side of the first chamber.

8. The tape feeder of any one of claims 1 to 7,

the predetermined position at which the first chamber is positioned in the loading process is a standby position at which the first chamber is positioned when a preceding one of the chambers on the front end side of the first chamber is positioned at the supply unit.

9. The tape feeder of any one of claims 1 to 8,

the drive device includes a sprocket having engaging projections arranged at equal intervals along a circumferential direction and engaged with a plurality of engaging holes formed at predetermined intervals in the carrier tape,

the control device positions the first chamber at the predetermined position in the feeder main body based on a detection result of the detection sensor, an angle of the sprocket, and an interval between the plurality of chambers in the loading process.

10. A method for loading a carrier tape containing electronic components into a tape feeder,

the tape feeder includes:

a feeder main body having an insertion portion into which a leading end of the carrier tape is inserted and a supply portion for supplying the electronic component to an electronic component mounting machine;

a drive device provided in the feeder main body and configured to transport the carrier tape;

a detection sensor that detects a leading end of the carrier tape on a transport path between the insertion section and the supply section; and

a control device for controlling the drive device so as to transport the carrier tape inserted into the insertion section to the supply section, and performing a loading process for loading the carrier tape,

a plurality of chambers for respectively accommodating the electronic components are formed on the carrier tape at predetermined intervals along a conveying direction,

the loading method comprises the following steps:

an adjusting step of adjusting in advance a length from a first chamber, in which the electronic component is first stored, to a leading end of the carrier tape from a leading end side among the plurality of chambers to a predetermined length in the loading process; and

and a positioning step of starting conveyance of the carrier tape when the adjusted carrier tape is inserted into the insertion portion, and positioning the first chamber at a predetermined position in the feeder main body based on a detection result of the detection sensor.

Technical Field

The invention relates to a tape feeder and a loading method of a carrier tape.

Background

Tape feeders are used in electronic component mounting machines for mounting components on circuit boards. As disclosed in patent document 1, for example, there is an automatic loading type tape feeder capable of automatically loading a carrier tape inserted from an insertion portion provided at a rear portion of the tape feeder. The tape feeder of the automatic loading type is used for positioning a chamber in a supply section for supplying electronic components to an electronic component mounter, for example, when a new or a supplemented carrier tape is loaded.

Disclosure of Invention

Problems to be solved by the invention

Here, in order to stabilize the supply of the electronic components immediately after the carrier tape is loaded, the carrier tape may be continuously conveyed to some extent even after the leading end of the carrier tape passes through the supply section. In such a case, when the electronic component is stored in the chamber passing through the supply portion, the electronic component is not supplied to the electronic component mounting apparatus and is wasted. In addition, when an empty chamber is provided near the front end of the carrier tape, the empty chamber may be positioned at the supply portion, and a supply error may occur.

The present specification aims to provide a tape feeder and a loading method of a carrier tape, which can stabilize the supply of electronic components immediately after the loading of the carrier tape and prevent the generation of wasteful electronic components.

Means for solving the problems

The present specification discloses a belt feeder, including: a feeder main body having an insertion portion into which a tip of a carrier tape containing electronic components is inserted and a supply portion for supplying the electronic components to an electronic component mounting machine; a drive device provided in the feeder main body and configured to transport the carrier tape; a detection sensor for detecting the front end of the carrier tape on the transport path between the insertion portion and the supply portion; and a control device that controls the drive device so as to convey the carrier tape inserted into the insertion portion to the supply portion, and that executes a loading process for loading the carrier tape, wherein a plurality of chambers for respectively storing the electronic components are formed in the carrier tape at predetermined intervals along a conveyance direction, and the control device starts conveyance of the carrier tape and positions the first chamber at a predetermined position in the feeder main body based on a detection result of the detection sensor, when the carrier tape, which is adjusted in advance so that a length from a first chamber, in which the electronic components are stored first from a front end side among the plurality of chambers, to a front end of the carrier tape becomes a predetermined length in the loading process, is inserted into the insertion portion.

The present specification discloses a loading method for loading a carrier tape containing electronic components into a tape feeder, the tape feeder including: a feeder main body having an insertion portion into which a leading end of the carrier tape is inserted and a supply portion for supplying the electronic component to an electronic component mounting machine; a drive device provided in the feeder main body and configured to transport the carrier tape; a detection sensor for detecting the front end of the carrier tape on the transport path between the insertion portion and the supply portion; and a control device that controls the drive device so as to transport the carrier tape inserted into the insertion portion to the supply portion, and performs a loading process of loading the carrier tape, in which a plurality of chambers for respectively storing the electronic components are formed at predetermined intervals along a transport direction, the loading method including: an adjusting step of adjusting in advance a length from a first chamber, in which the electronic component is first housed, among the plurality of chambers to a leading end of the carrier tape to a predetermined length in the loading process; and a positioning step of starting the conveyance of the carrier tape when the adjusted carrier tape is inserted into the insertion portion, and positioning the first chamber at a predetermined position in the feeder main body based on a detection result of the detection sensor.

Effects of the invention

According to the structure of the tape feeder and the loading method of the carrier tape, the carrier tape having a length from the first chamber to the tip adjusted to a predetermined length can be loaded so that the first chamber is positioned at a predetermined position in the feeder main body. Accordingly, when the first chamber is positioned at the supply portion, the front end portion having the predetermined length can be secured, and therefore, the position of the carrier tape in the width direction is stabilized, and as a result, the supply of the electronic component can be stabilized. In addition, since the electronic component is not housed in the front end side of the first chamber, it is possible to prevent the generation of a wasteful electronic component.
