1. A hearing protection device, the device comprising:

at least a first audio signal processor and a second audio signal processor arranged in parallel with each other,

wherein the first audio signal processor is adapted to pass audio signals in a first frequency range and to compress the audio signals in the first frequency range when the volume of the audio signals in the first frequency range is above a first threshold volume; and

wherein the second audio signal processor is adapted to pass audio signals in a second frequency range and to compress the audio signals in the second frequency range when the volume of the audio signals in the second frequency range is above a second threshold volume.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first threshold volume and the second threshold volume are different.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 or 2,

wherein the first audio signal processor is adapted to compress the audio signals in the first frequency range at a first ratio when the volume of the audio signals in the first frequency range is above the first threshold volume; and

wherein the second audio signal processor is adapted to compress the audio signals in the second frequency range at a second ratio different from the first ratio when the volume of the audio signals in the second frequency range is above the second threshold volume.

4. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the first audio signal processor is adapted to amplify the audio signals in the first frequency range at a third rate when the volume level of the audio signals in the first frequency range is below a third threshold volume, different from the first threshold volume.

5. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the first audio signal processor is adapted to amplify the audio signals in the first frequency range at a third rate when the volume level of the audio signals in the first frequency range is below the first threshold volume.

6. The apparatus of any preceding claim, comprising: eight audio signal processors connected in parallel are arranged.

7. The apparatus of any preceding claim, further comprising: means for recombining audio signals processed by said at least first and second audio signal processors.

8. The apparatus of any of the preceding claims, wherein a time period of a turn-on phase of at least the first audio signal processor is adjustable.

10. The apparatus of any preceding claim, further comprising: a first socket for removably connecting with a mobile device.

11. The apparatus of any preceding claim, further comprising: a second socket connected with the internal battery.

12. The apparatus of any preceding claim, further comprising: a third socket connected with the central processing unit.

13. The apparatus of any preceding claim, further comprising: a charging circuit adapted to ensure that the device is on during charging.

14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the charging circuit comprises a Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) gate connected to a capacitor.

15. A method of hearing protection, the method comprising the steps of:

(a) the incoming audio signal is split into at least an audio signal in a first frequency range and an audio signal in a second frequency range,

(b) compressing the audio signal in the first frequency range when the volume of the audio signal in the first frequency range is above a first threshold volume, an

(c) Compressing the audio signal in the second frequency range when the volume of the audio signal in the second frequency range is above a second threshold volume.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the first and second light sources are selected from the group consisting of,

wherein in said step (b), when the volume of the audio signal in the first frequency range is higher than the first threshold volume, the audio signal in the first frequency range is compressed at a first ratio; and

wherein in the step (c), when the volume of the audio signal in the second frequency range is higher than the second threshold volume, the audio signal in the second frequency range is compressed at a second ratio different from the first ratio.

17. The method according to claim 15 or 16, further comprising step (d): amplifying the audio signal in the first frequency range at a third rate when the volume of the audio signal in the first frequency range is below a third threshold volume that is different from the first threshold volume.

18. The method according to claim 15 or 16, further comprising step (e): amplifying the audio signal in the first frequency range at a third rate when the volume of the audio signal in the first frequency range is below the first threshold volume.

19. A method according to any one of claims 15 to 18 wherein in step (a) the incoming audio signal is divided into audio signals in eight frequency ranges.

20. The method of any one of claims 15 to 19, further comprising, after step (d), step (f): and recombining the audio signal.

21. The method according to any one of claims 15 to 20, further comprising step (g): adjusting at least the turn-on time of step (b).

22. The method according to any one of claims 15 to 21, further comprising step (h): adjusting at least the release phase of step (b).
