1. A block comprising an input wall and an output wall spaced from the input wall, a void formed between the input wall and the output wall, wherein the input wall has a plurality of projections integrally formed therewith, the projections extending toward the output wall and serving to disrupt convection currents formed in the void, at least one of the projections comprising a solar concentrator on which a photovoltaic device is mounted.

2. A block according to claim 1, wherein the projections extend substantially to the output wall, at least one of the projections being spaced slightly from the output wall to accommodate the photovoltaic device.

3. A block according to claim 1, wherein the projection stops in the vicinity of the outlet wall.

4. A block as claimed in claim 3, wherein the projection extends to a position spaced from the input wall by at least 25% of the spacing between the input and output walls.

5. A block according to claim 4, wherein the projection extends to a position spaced from the input wall by 30-60% of the spacing.

6. A block as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein at least one of the inlet and outlet walls has a peripheral wall integrally formed therewith, the peripheral wall extending towards the other of the inlet and outlet walls.

7. A block according to claim 6, wherein the peripheral wall is associated with both the input wall and the output wall, the peripheral walls engaging each other to space the input wall and the output wall from each other, the input wall, the output wall and the peripheral wall together defining the void.

8. A block as claimed in claim 7, wherein the peripheral walls are cold fused to each other.

9. A block as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the projections are arranged in a regular array.

10. A block as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the projections provide the block with a predetermined visual appearance when viewed from the input wall side of the block.

11. A block as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of the projections has a coloured element provided thereon.

12. A block as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the outer surface of the input wall comprises a domed region aligned with the projection.

13. A block according to any of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of the projections is shaped in the following way: defining an input side that is substantially circular or elliptical, square or rectangular and an output side that is substantially square or rectangular.

14. A block according to claim 13, wherein the photovoltaic device has substantially the same dimensions as the output side.

15. A block according to claim 13 or claim 14, wherein the input sides of adjacent ones of the solar concentrators are spaced apart from one another.

16. A block as claimed in any one of claims 13 to 15, wherein each projection comprises a side wall extending between the input side and the output side, the side wall having a curved profile.

17. A block according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the input and output walls have a square, rectangular, hexagonal or triangular shape.
