It is irritant and less toxic, but harmful to human body. The enamel industry is used as a fluxing agent, an oxidizing agent and a raw material for the preparation of enamel powder. The glass industry is used as a decolorant, defoamer, clarifier and oxidizing flux for various glasses and articles.

The existing preparation method of sodium nitrate solution mostly adopts a preparation method of natural chilies niter, and is prepared by extracting the natural chilies by water, filtering, concentrating and crystallizing.
