Background

The yellow catfish breeding in China starts in the nineties of the last century, and the breeding varieties of the yellow catfish are changed from common yellow catfish to full-male yellow catfish and even to hybrid yellow catfish which is mainly bred at present in more than twenty years of industrial development.

The hybrid pelteobagrus fulvidraco is a hybrid produced by artificial induced spawning, insemination and the like by using pelteobagrus fulvidraco (Tachysurus fulvidraco) as a female parent and pelteobagrus vachellii (Tachysurus vachellii) as a male parent. The parent pelteobagrus fulvidraco is small in size and slow in growth speed, but is favored by the consumer market due to the bright body color and tender meat quality. The pelteobagrus vachelli as the male parent has relatively large body type and high growth speed, but the market acceptance degree is low. The hybrid yellow catfish variety is developed by combining excellent properties of parents so as to obtain hybrid filial generation with high growth speed, bright body color and tender meat. However, as the parent and the maternal plant belong to different species, the genetic relationship is far, the genetic background difference is large, the hybrid progeny inevitably has character differentiation, and separate populations are generated, namely, the body color of most progeny inherits the maternal plant, and the body color of a small part of progeny inherits the paternal plant. The population with the differentiated character is easy to distinguish in the middle and later period of cultivation. The commercial fish is irregular in size, a small part of the commercial fish is like male parent pelteobagrus vachelli, the market acceptance is low, and the commercial fish is not easy to sell and causes loss. Therefore, if the separated groups can be identified in the fish breeding period, the specification uniformity of the commercial fish can be improved, the breeding cost can be reduced, and the breeding benefit can be improved.

At present, common methods for group identification comprise morphological clustering, microsatellite typing, SNP analysis and the like, and the methods usually need a large amount of data analysis and are high in cost investment and difficult to develop in production practice.

In view of the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art, the present invention aims to provide a method capable of accurately identifying the segregating population of the hybrid pelteobagrus fulvidraco in the fingerling period.
