Background

For cosmetic reasons, hair extenders are used to increase the length or fullness of a person's natural hair. These devices include supplemental hair extensions from the head of others or from synthetic sources to augment natural hair on a person's head. The supplemental hair extension is integrated into the natural hair of a human using one of a variety of methods. However, many of these methods can be time consuming, costly, and/or damage the natural hair of a person. In addition, many of these methods make the wearer's hair style look unnatural.

Disclosure of Invention

A hair extender for integration with a person's hair is described in this disclosure. The hair extender includes a plurality of hair extensions and a mechanical attachment for attaching the plurality of hair extensions to natural hair of a person's head.

In an illustrative embodiment, the mechanical attachment includes an attachment strap that provides a means for removably coupling a supplemental hair extension to natural hair included in a person's hair. The attachment strap is flexible and is coupled to natural hair included in the person's hair in response to pressing and sliding a finger along the attachment strap when the person's natural hair is received in the attachment strap.

In an illustrative embodiment, the hair extender includes a mesh sheet extending over at least a portion of an outwardly facing surface of the mechanical attachment. Thus, the mesh sheet conceals the mechanical attachment and may provide a textured background from which the supplemental hair extends.

In an illustrative embodiment, the mesh sheet includes pores. In such embodiments, at least some of the supplemental hair extensions extend through the aperture.

In an illustrative embodiment, the supplemental hair extension includes short supplemental hair extension and long supplemental hair extension. The short extension hair extends upward, while the long extension hair extends downward. This arrangement may provide a camouflaging effect for further hiding the mechanical attachment.

Additional features of the present disclosure will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the illustrative embodiments showing the best mode presently known for carrying out the disclosure.
