Technical Field

The invention relates to a storage element having opposite side regions, in particular vertically oriented side walls, to each of which a lifting mechanism is connected, which can be actuated by means of a pivotable support.

Background

Such storage elements (for example in the form of storage boxes or wire baskets, in each case with vertically oriented side walls or tray-like bases) are used in particular in furniture items or domestic appliances, in which the storage element is lifted by being pulled out of the body by means of a lifting mechanism.

The lifting mechanism, which is in particular designed in the form of a scissor-like deployment mechanism, is actuated via a connected pivotable stand, wherein the lifting mechanism corresponds to a main body of the furniture item or the household appliance or to a functional component connected to said main body.

The storage element is prefabricated at the factory for subsequent insertion into the relevant furniture item or household appliance.

However, transporting the storage element to the installation site can be problematic because of the risk of using the rack as a handling aid. In this case, the bracket pivots upwards and thus actuates the lifting mechanism, which pivots out of a protective position in which the lifting mechanism is covered by the associated side wall, and into an exposed position in which the lifting mechanism projects beyond the side wall.

Another risk may be that the lifting mechanism is tensioned in the transport position and pivots itself upwards, for example by means of a spring assisting the upward pivoting.

If the lifting mechanism is designed as a scissor-like deployment mechanism, the scissor members of which are guided functionally along the guide rails of the furniture item or furniture part or household appliance, said scissor members are exposed and can easily be damaged, in particular bent, so that the lifting mechanism may not be used in certain situations.

Disclosure of Invention

The problem addressed by the invention is to further develop a storage element of the generic type such that the handling of the storage element, in particular during transport, is made safer by means which are structurally very simple.

This problem is solved by a storage element which, in order to lock the stand in the downwardly pivoted transport position, has at least one locking element which is held on the stand and on a side wall of the storage device or between two scissor members and which can be released from the locking position.

The locking element may be attached to the stand or the storage device or the first or second scissor member. The locking element may also be formed in two parts, each part being attached to one element. The two parts mate in the locked position, for example by engaging each other.

The lifting mechanism of the storage element to be actuated by means of the bracket is therefore protected by the respective side wall until the storage element is mounted in the article of furniture, thanks to the fact that: i.e. in the case of a scissor deployment mechanism, the lifting mechanism is held in its position covered by the side walls until installation takes place, with the stand pivoted downwards.

Even if the stand is used as a carrying assist tool, it is held in place without moving the lifting mechanism.

The respective locking element attached to one arm of the bracket may be configured as a simple tab that is functionally retained on both the associated arm and the side wall adjacent thereto.

If the locking element is attached to the scissor members, it is held on both scissor members in the transport position. In this embodiment, the scissor deployment mechanism can be safely transported even without a storage element.

Alternatively, the locking element can also be configured as a clip or a flexible ring and/or can cooperate with a hook or a pin.

To this end, the tabs are provided with pins, one of which engages in a receiving hole of the arm and the other of which engages in a receiving hole of the side wall, each of said holes preferably being provided on the inner side.

In this case, the tab can pivot about one of the pins and, when not in use, that is to say once the storage element is mounted, can be placed in a latched position in which the pin, which is free during pivoting of the tab, is inserted into the hole.

Preferably, the tabs are held on arms of the bracket that also have holes. However, it is also conceivable in principle to position the tabs pivotably on the inner side of the side wall and then to provide the holes on the inner side of the side wall.

According to another idea of the invention, the tab is strip-shaped, wherein the pin is arranged in both end regions, wherein a particularly suitable material is plastic which should be substantially dimensionally stable so as to be largely buckling-resistant but sufficiently elastic transversely to the longitudinal extent to release the tab from its locking position on one side and to pivot the tab.

However, if the bracket is designed such that it bears against the associated edge of the side wall in the downward pivoted final position, a flexible strip which is only subjected to tensile loads when holding the bracket is sufficient as a locking element.

However, it is also conceivable for the tab to be made of metal, in particular of sheet metal, the pin being formed integrally on the tab or as a separate part, for example in the form of a screw, peg or the like.

It is particularly emphasized that the invention can be implemented with little manufacturing effort and thus has a particularly advantageous cost/benefit ratio.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

Drawings

An exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the drawings:

figure 1 shows a storage element according to the invention in a perspective view,

figure 2 shows an enlarged detail of the storage element marked II in figure 1,

fig. 3 to 5 schematically show the storage element in different mounting positions.

Detailed Description

Fig. 1 shows a storage element, which is indicated as a whole with reference numeral 1. This storage element 1 has two opposite side walls 2, to each of which a lifting mechanism 3 is connected, which can be actuated by a pivotable stand 4 and is formed in this example by a scissor-like deployment mechanism, to which arms 6 of the stand 4 are connected, wherein the arms 6 are connected to each other by a handle 5. The lifting mechanism 3 is arranged here on the outside of the storage element 1.

In fig. 1, the storage element 1 is shown after completion in the factory and before installation in an item of furniture 9, as shown in fig. 3 to 5. In other words, the storage element 1 has to be transported to the furniture item 9. Since the lifting mechanism 3 projects downwardly beyond the side wall 2 and is exposed to the risk of damage when the carriage 4 is pivoted upwardly, the storage element 1 is preferably transported with the carriage 4 in the downwardly pivoted position, as shown in fig. 1.

In order to fix the bracket 4 and thus position the lifting mechanism 3, a locking element 7 is provided, which in the example consists of a strip-shaped tab and is held in this position both on the inside of the arm 6 of the bracket 4 and on the inside of the associated side wall 2 by means of pins (not shown), each of which is inserted into a hole 8.

In order to permanently fix the locking element 7 to one of the components, in this embodiment to the arm, the locking element may also be fastened by a fastening element, for example a screw.

The position of the holder 4 and of the lifting mechanism 3 associated therewith is thus held securely until the storage element 1 is inserted into the article of furniture 9.

In the variant shown in fig. 3 to 5, this is done by inserting the storage element 1 into a drawer 10, which can be pushed into the body of the furniture item.

Fig. 3 shows the position of the storage element 1 just after insertion, wherein the locking element 7, due to its connection to the side wall 2, still holds the holder 4 in place.

In fig. 4, the locking element 7 is pivoted out of the locking position, for which purpose the locking element 7 is rotatably held on the arm 6 by its pin in the hole, and in the position shown in fig. 4 the locking element 7 is inserted into the hole 8 of the arm 6 by the opposite pin. The positioning of the holes 8 can be seen particularly clearly in fig. 2.

By pivoting the locking element 7 upwards, i.e. by disengaging it from the side wall 2, the bracket 4 can be pivoted upwards to actuate the lifting mechanism 3, as shown in the final position in fig. 5. Also visible in said figure are two holes 8 in the respective arms 6 of the bracket 4, one for receiving a pin for pivoting the locking element 7 and the other, arranged at a distance from the hole, for receiving an associated pin for locking the locking element 7 when not in use.
