Background

At present, in the petroleum and natural gas drilling operation, the easily-leaked stratum is often encountered, so the requirement on leakage stoppage while drilling is increasingly urgent. The tool with the related functions is required to be convenient to use, safe and reliable.

At present, the research on the tools in China is just started, and the developed products have the defects, for example, most manufacturers activate the leakage stopping valve in a mode that 2 ~ 4 balls are put in to complete one-time opening and closing function, and if the opening and closing actions are required to be completed for multiple times, multiple shots are needed to complete the opening and closing actions, so the risk is brought:

1) unexpected risks (such as jamming or incapability of sending the ball to a target position) are easy to occur when the ball runs in the drilling pipe string, and operation difficulty is caused from the surface;

2) after each pitching, the ground is not easy to judge whether the ball is in place;

3) the number of times of the on-off circulation of the tool is limited, and the tool is not ideal generally about 6 cycles;

4) the ball thrown into the well needs to be specially collected and is not allowed to continuously descend, so that the cost of the tool is increased due to the special design of the ball receiver;

5) due to the adoption of the ball receiver, a connecting port is added to the pipe string, so that one more risk is brought to the surface;

6) the adoption of the ball receiver leads the length of the leak-stopping valve to be longer, which increases the difficulty for transportation and connection. The opening of the leakage stoppage valve is completed by adopting a ball throwing activation mode, but the defect is that the ball throwing times are required and limited.
