1. A method of identifying a pledget, comprising the steps of:

a) Providing a device, comprising:

aa) a conduit comprising an inlet and an outlet in a substantially upright position; and

bb) means for analyzing the dynamic luminescence behavior of the luminescent substance;

wherein means for analyzing the dynamic luminescence behavior of the luminescent substance are arranged in order to analyze the dynamic luminescence behavior of the luminescent substance in the conduit, even if said luminescent substance is in motion;

b) Introducing a pledget containing a light emitting substance into a conduit through an inlet;

c) Analyzing the dynamic luminescence behavior of the luminescent substance contained in the pledget using a device for analyzing the dynamic luminescence behavior of the luminescent substance; and

d) And classifying the pledgets according to the analysis result.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the dynamic light emission behavior is light emission behavior over time.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the attenuation constant of one or more emission wavelengths is determined.

Method according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the luminescent substance is selected from fluorescent materials that emit electromagnetic radiation after electromagnetic excitation, the wavelength of said electromagnetic radiation being greater than and/or less than and/or equal to the excitation wavelength.

5. A method according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the means for analysing the dynamic luminescence behaviour of the luminescent substance is arranged in a ring-shaped manner around the conduit.

6. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the method comprises a further step e) after step d):

e) The classified material is classified.

7. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a further step f) after step d):

f) Refund or retain the pledgets of the respective classification.

8. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pledget is a gold coin bottle.

9. A method according to any preceding claim, wherein the device is an empty container reverse vending machine.
