In the radiotherapy process, the temporomandibular joint is irradiated by a higher dose to cause temporomandibular joint injury and muscle fibrosis, part of patients have difficulty in opening the mouth within one to two years after the radiotherapy, the incidence rate of the difficulty in opening the mouth is 58.5 percent, the difficulty develops gradually and can not be self-healed, the difficulty develops into tense and painful temporomandibular joint, the spasm of the masseter muscle is weak, even serious patients can have limited temporomandibular joint movement, the opening degree gradually reduces and the teeth are unclear, and the strong spasm of the masseter muscle is often caused to cause severe pain at the moment of opening the mouth or the beginning of the occlusion action, so that the eating difficulty is caused, and the life quality of the patients is seriously influenced.

Research finds that adherence to early rehabilitation training after radiotherapy is a simple and effective method for reducing the incidence of difficult mouth opening, temporomandibular joint sclerosis can be prevented by carrying out mouth opening occlusion training, face muscle atrophy can be prevented by carrying out cheek bulging training, muscle fibrosis is prevented by carrying out local self-massage, and the traditional exercise method comprises two types of self-opening and cork biting: patients who adopt the self-opening mouth exercise cannot open mouth by themselves due to pain feeling, or the duration is short, and the exercise effect is poor; the cork is bitten to exercise, a patient bites the cork after opening the mouth, the cork is taken down after about 20 minutes and is taken down two to three times a day, but the cork is a wooden product, is easy to grow mildews and is not easy to clean, is not sanitary and is easy to influence the body health of the patient.

The two exercise methods have a certain rehabilitation effect on the patients with mouth opening difficulty, but the methods of opening mouth independently or biting cork are too single and are only suitable for mouth opening actions, but the exercise actions such as gill bulging, massage and the like are not involved, in addition, the mouth opening difficulty function exercise needs to be performed for two to three years, but most of the patients cannot be performed due to pain, part of the patients do not exercise in place, and even some patients do not exercise at all, so the mouth opening difficulty occurrence rate is higher.
