GH4169 is the most common high-temperature alloy material in China at present. Some heat resistant parts made from GH4169 superalloy materials often require electrical discharge machining.

The electric spark machining is a method for machining a workpiece by the electroerosion action of pulse discharge between a tool electrode and a workpiece electrode, and is suitable for machining small holes, thin walls, narrow grooves and various parts with complicated sections, such as profile holes and cavities.

In the prior art, the electric spark processing generally adopts a copper, graphite or tungsten-copper alloy electrode; however, when GH4169 high-temperature alloy is actually processed, the copper and graphite electrodes have low high-temperature strength, so that the electrode loss is extremely fast in the processing process, and the electric erosion processing of a workpiece cannot be completed at all; the tungsten-copper alloy electrode has high-temperature strength and almost no loss in the processing process, but has extremely low electric corrosion speed, and the corrosion removal amount per hour is less than 2 mm.
