Technical Field

The invention belongs to the field of mobile communication, and particularly relates to a method for reducing paging receiving overhead of a terminal.

Background

In the field of mobile communication, a terminal UE monitors paging in a discontinuous reception manner. The terminal performs monitoring of paging in a paging period po (paging occasion) of each discontinuous reception cycle (DRX). Paging transmission mode of operator: the range in which the network sends a page is initiated within the registration area of the terminal, i.e. the tracking area TA. When the TA in which the UE camps changes, the range of network paging changes.

For reliable reception of pages, the operator will repeatedly send the same page at paging occasions Po of multiple DRX cycles. Aiming at different operators, the repeated sending times of the paging are inconsistent; the number of times the page is repeated in different TA zones may also vary for the same operator.

Paging reception of the UE is a data reception method of a downlink channel, and a success rate of correctly receiving and correctly analyzing data is related to current channel quality. Three indexes of RSRP, RSRQ and SINR can be used in 4G/5G system to measure the channel quality. In 4G/5G systems, paging, which triggers a paging response (RRC connection establishment or RRC connection recovery), is the most prevalent. The network under 4G may initiate paging to trigger RRC connection establishment; in a 5G system, paging-triggered RRC connection establishment in RRC IDLE may be initiated, and connection recovery in paging-triggered RRC in RRC INACTIVE may be initiated.

For paging triggering RRC connection or RRC recovery, repeated sending of multiple DRX is carried out in a TA area affiliated to the UE, and logically, the UE can normally initiate paging response (start RRC connection establishment and RRC connection recovery) when receiving any paging. In the prior art, in order to ensure reliable reception of paging, the UE monitors Po one by one every DRX cycle and receives possible paging data. However, the paging reception mode causes the UE to wake up from sleep in each DRX cycle, and fixed overhead of monitoring Po is paid, which increases the power consumption of the UE.

Detailed Description

The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.

One embodiment of a method for reducing paging reception overhead of a terminal, as shown in fig. 1, includes: the terminal is started and resides, and the current TA information, the operator information and a TA list stored in a storage chip are obtained; judging whether the current TA is in a TA list or not according to the operator information and the current TA information, if so, extracting paging information corresponding to the TA from the storage chip, and if not, detecting the paging information of the current TA and updating the TA list; the TA list information comprises TA information, corresponding operator information and paging information; the obtained paging information comprises paging repetition frequency information; an improved paging monitoring procedure is performed based on the obtained paging information.

The paging information acquisition process comprises the following steps: and acquiring the paging information corresponding to the current TA according to the record of the storage chip. The process of acquiring the current TA area comprises the following steps: the terminal resides in the new cell and acquires a system message of the new cell, wherein the message carries the current TA area information; and comparing the operator information and the current TA area information with the information in the TA list saved by the terminal, and if the TA area information is inconsistent, entering a new TA area by the terminal.

The paging information detection process comprises the following steps: and paging detection is carried out in different modes according to the mobility, the fallback property, the new and old terminal marks and the like of the terminal, paging information corresponding to the new TA is obtained, and the paging information corresponding to the new TA is recorded into a storage chip.

The specific content of the paging information comprises: paging repetition number information.

The improved paging monitoring process comprises: executing different paging receiving processes according to the mobile information, the channel quality and the paging repetition frequency information corresponding to the TA of the current terminal; and dynamically adjusting the period of paging monitoring of the UE by integrating the moving speed of the current UE, the quality of the current channel and the paging repetition frequency information corresponding to the TA.

The new and old terminal marks are the marks acquired by the terminal after the new registration process is carried out and are new terminal marks; the previous token is the old terminal token. The terminal will have two flags simultaneously within a short time after the registration process.

As shown in fig. 2, the process of detecting the paging repeat transmission times of the terminal by using the paging repeat transmission times detection mechanism includes: judging the moving state of the current terminal, if the current terminal is in a high-speed moving state, setting the paging repeated sending frequency to be 1, and if the current terminal is not in the high-speed moving state, judging the fallback of the terminal;

the high-speed moving state of the terminal is determined by recording the number M of times of a TAU (tracking area update) procedure triggered by a TA change within a certain time (Tmobility). If the average change time delay (Tmobity/M) of the primary TA is smaller than the time delay threshold value of TA change within a certain time length range, the terminal is considered to be in a high-speed moving state crossing the TA. Specifically, the process of determining the current mobile state of the terminal includes: setting a time delay threshold value of TA change; setting a time recording period, and determining the process frequency M of updating TAU of the tracking area triggered by TA change in the time recording period; calculating the change time delay of the TA according to the process times M and the set time recording period; and comparing the calculated change time delay with a set time delay threshold, if the calculated change time delay is smaller than the time delay threshold, the terminal is in a high-speed moving state crossing the TA, otherwise, the terminal is in a low-speed moving or static state.

Preferably, the change time delay of TA is obtained by dividing the set time recording period by the number M of processes.

Preferably, the delay threshold of the TA change is a length of 2 DRX cycles.

As shown in fig. 3, if the current terminal has fallback, the terminal receives that the network uses the terminal identifier in the current system to the identifier of the terminal in the fallback system to page the UE, and no response is given to paging each time, and the paging number N is added by 1, and determines the paging number N of the terminal in the current system according to the change until the terminal receives the paging of the user side by using the terminal identifier in the fallback system; if the current terminal does not have fallback, judging whether the current terminal has new and old terminal marks at the same time;

as shown in fig. 4, if the current terminal has a new terminal identifier and an old terminal identifier, the terminal receives the paging performed by the network using the new identifier, does not respond, and adds 1 to the paging number N until the terminal receives the paging performed by the network using the old terminal identifier;

as shown in fig. 5, if the current terminal only has a new terminal identifier, the terminal receives the paging using the terminal identifier by the network, and does not respond, and the paging number N is increased by 1 until the paging of the current terminal is no longer received.

After the number of times of repeatedly sending the paging of the terminal is obtained, in order to avoid the influence of the paging detection process on the service performance of the terminal, the terminal performs the following subsequent processing on the received paging:

when the terminal has fallback, after receiving the paging of the terminal mark of the fallback mode, a paging response is performed in the fallback mode (for example, 2G or 3G), and the related call service is completed. After the call is finished, returning to the original cell of the original system (such as 4G), forcibly starting a TAU (tracking area update) process, and aligning the TAU process with the context (including terminal mark information) of the registration information of the network.

When the terminal does not have fallback and stores new and old terminal marks, the terminal starts a TAU process (namely a tracking area updating process for keeping connection) carrying an ACTIVE mark when receiving paging of the old mark, and the terminal carries the new terminal mark in the interaction process. Through the air interface process, the terminal establishes connection with the network, implicitly responds to paging, and aligns with the context (including the terminal mark information) of the registration information of the network.

When the terminal has no fallback property and only has one terminal mark, if a certain DRX cycle has no paging of the terminal, the terminal starts a TAU procedure (i.e., a tracking area update procedure for keeping connection) carrying an ACTIVE mark, and in the interaction procedure, the terminal carries a currently valid terminal mark. Through the air interface process, the terminal establishes connection with the network, implicitly responds to paging, and aligns the context of the registration information with the network.

As shown in fig. 6, performing an improved page monitoring procedure includes: setting a paging repetition time threshold; judging the mobile information of the current terminal; judging the current channel quality; performing improved paging monitoring according to the mobile information, the channel quality and the paging repetition frequency information corresponding to the TA of the current terminal; if the current mobile terminal is a high-speed mobile terminal, executing a normal paging monitoring process, and if the current mobile terminal is a non-high-speed mobile terminal, comparing the paging repetition frequency information corresponding to the current TA with a set paging repetition frequency threshold value; if the paging repetition times corresponding to the TA are more than or equal to the set paging repetition time threshold, judging the channel quality of the current cell, otherwise, executing a normal paging monitoring process; if the current cell is a high-quality cell, executing a paging monitoring strategy for prolonging DRX; and if the current cell is a non-high-quality cell, executing a modified elongated DRX paging monitoring strategy according to the channel quality.

Preferably, the threshold value of the number of paging repetitions is set to 2.

The process of determining the channel quality of a cell includes: acquiring channel information of a current cell, wherein the acquired channel information comprises Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP), Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) and signal to noise ratio (SINR); performing simulation in a wireless environment according to the extracted RSRP, RSRQ and SINR; and determining the thresholds of the high-quality cell and the non-high-quality cell according to the simulation result under the acceptable error rate, and dividing the current resident cell of the terminal into a high-quality channel cell or a non-high-quality channel cell according to the thresholds.

The paging monitoring strategy for performing the elongated DRX includes: and prolonging the monitoring period of the terminal meeting the elongated DRX paging monitoring strategy from DRX to N DRX, wherein N represents the paging repetition number.

Performing a modified elongated DRX page monitoring strategy includes: lengthening a terminal monitoring cycle satisfying the modified lengthened DRX paging monitoring strategy from DRX to N DRX, wherein N represents paging repetition times, and locally modifying a paging mechanism in the N DRX cycle; the process of performing local correction includes: if the first DRX in the extended period successfully receives the paging, the paging process is ended, and the terminal waits for the starting position of the next N X DRX period to receive the paging again; otherwise, the supplementary scheduling is carried out to the next DRX period for paging reception, and so on.

The above-mentioned embodiments, which further illustrate the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention, should be understood that the above-mentioned embodiments are only preferred embodiments of the present invention, and should not be construed as limiting the present invention, and any modifications, equivalents, improvements, etc. made within the spirit and principle of the present invention should be included in the protection scope of the present invention.
