阅读说明:本技术 用于对导管管件的区段进行灭菌的灭菌装置和方法 (Sterilization device and method for sterilizing sections of catheter tubing (A sterilization device for sterilizing a section of catheter tubing comprising: a housing comprising a proximal end, a distal end, an attachment portion, a sterilization chamber, and a through-hole extending through both the attachment portion and the sterilization chamber, the through-hole having a distal opening at the distal end of the housing and opening into the sterilization chamber, the attachment portion configured to retain a section of catheter tubing in the through-hole; and at least one light source configured to emit germicidal light, such as ultraviolet light, into the sterilization chamber of the housing; wherein a diameter of a distal opening of the through hole is larger than a diameter of the through hole at the attachment portion of the housing such that an air gap is formed between a sterilization chamber at the distal opening and the catheter tube when the catheter tube is retained in the through hole by the attachment portion of the housing.)

1. A sterilization device for sterilizing a section of catheter tubing, the sterilization device comprising:

-a housing comprising a proximal end, a distal end, an attachment portion, a sterilization chamber, and a through-hole extending through both the attachment portion and the sterilization chamber, the through-hole having a distal opening at the distal end of the housing and opening into the sterilization chamber, the attachment portion being configured to retain a section of catheter tubing in the through-hole; and

-at least one light source configured to emit germicidal light, such as ultraviolet light, into a sterilization chamber of the housing;

wherein a diameter of a distal opening of the through hole is larger than a diameter of the through hole at the attachment portion of the housing such that an air gap is formed between a sterilization chamber at the distal opening and the catheter tube when the catheter tube is retained in the through hole by the attachment portion of the housing.

2. Sterilisation apparatus according to the preceding claim, wherein the at least one light source is positioned at a distance from the distal opening such that light emitted directly by the at least one light source is received by the sterilisation chamber of the housing or by a catheter tube, if present, positioned in the through hole of the housing.

3. Sterilization device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the sterilization chamber comprises a wall surface extending between the at least one light source and the distal opening, wherein the distal opening forms a boundary of the wall surface such that when the catheter tube is positioned within the through hole a tubular air gap is formed between the wall surface and the catheter tube, wherein the tubular air gap extends from the distal opening and into the sterilization chamber.

4. Sterilization apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising a centering member configured to center the catheter tubing in the sterilization chamber.

5. Sterilization device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the diameter of the distal opening is at least 1.1 times the diameter of the through hole at the attachment portion or the catheter tube which can be positioned in the through hole.

6. Sterilization device according to any one of the preceding claims, having

-an open position in which the catheter tube can be attached to the housing by means of the attachment portion of the housing, and/or

-a closed position in which a section of catheter tubing already present in the attachment portion of the housing can be retained.

7. Sterilization device according to claim 6, wherein the housing comprises two parts interconnected by a hinge, such as a living hinge, a pin-joint or a floating hinge, the hinge being arrangeable in the open position and the closed position,

wherein in the open position a radial access to the through hole is provided such that a section of the catheter tube can be radially inserted into the through hole and/or

Wherein the two parts of the housing surround the through hole in the closed position, so that a section of the catheter tube which is already present in the attachment part of the housing can be at least radially retained.

8. Sterilization device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the sterilization device comprises control means and detection means,

wherein the control means is configured to cause the at least one light source to start emitting germicidal light when the detection means detects that the housing is in the closed position, and/or

Wherein the control means is configured to cause the at least one light source to cease emitting germicidal light when the detection means detects that the housing is in the open position.

9. Sterilisation apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the housing has an outer surface configured to face the exterior of the sterilisation apparatus, the outer surface having a streamlined curved shape.

10. Sterilisation apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a maximum axial length of the sterilisation apparatus from the proximal end to the distal end is at least 1.1 times a maximum outer diameter of the sterilisation apparatus.

11. Sterilisation apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising a proximal portion constructed of a soft resilient material such as foam or silicone.

12. The sterilization device of any one of the preceding claims, further comprising an antimicrobial or bacteria-repellent coating.

13. Sterilisation apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a UV reflecting zone is provided in the sterilisation chamber.

14. A method of sterilizing a section of catheter tubing, the method comprising the steps of:

-providing a sterilization device and a catheter tubing according to any one of claims 1 to 13;

-positioning a section of the catheter tubing in the through-hole of the sterilization device; and

-causing the at least one light source to emit germicidal light onto the section of the catheter tube, thereby sterilizing said section of the catheter tube.
