1. An apparatus, comprising:

a first portion and a second portion;

a hinge assembly slidably secured to the first and second portions, the hinge assembly defining a passage and a bridge cam;

a flexible display secured to the first portion and the second portion;

a bridging structure positioned relative to the hinge assembly and the flexible display;

a cable extending along a passageway between the hinge assembly and the first portion and configured to control a gap between the first portion and the hinge assembly depending on an orientation of the first portion and the second portion; and

the bridging cam is configured to control a position of the bridging structure depending on the orientation of the first and second portions, and the bridging cam controls the bridging structure independently of the cable controlling the gap.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the hinge assembly defines a cable cam and wherein the passageway is at least partially defined by the cable cam.

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the hinge assembly defines a hinge rod about which the first portion rotates.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the bridge cam operates in timed relation to the hinge rod.

5. The apparatus of claim 4, further comprising a bridge gear positioned relative to the hinge rod to provide a timed relationship.

6. The device of claim 5, further comprising a bridge biasing element that biases the bridge structure toward the hinge assembly.

7. A device as described in claim 6, wherein the bridge cam can engage the bridge structure in various orientations to force the bridge structure away from the hinge assembly.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the cable comprises a first cable extending between the hinge assembly and the first portion and a second cable extending between the hinge assembly and the second portion.

9. An apparatus, comprising:

first and second hinged portions that rotate about a hinge axis;

a flexible display positioned over the first and second portions;

a cable that determines a length of the hinged first and second portions relative to the flexible display depending on an orientation of the first and second portions; and the number of the first and second groups,

a cam that controls a position of a support under the flexible display depending on the orientation.

10. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising a biasing element that biases the first portion away from the hinge axis.

11. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the apparatus defines a passage for the cable, and wherein a length of the hinged first and second portions is at least partially defined by a length of the passage in the orientation.

12. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the support comprises a bridge comprising a cam follower, and wherein the cam is configured to operate the cam follower to control a position of the bridge.

13. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising a structure defining a passage for the cable, and wherein a length of the passage changes when the orientation changes.

14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the structure comprises a cable cam.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the cable cam is D-shaped.
