Chair comprising two opposite and cooperating side portions (11), means for connecting the two side portions (11) in the form of a straight bar which suitably and stably separate them, and a backrest (13) and a seat (12) in use, said means for connecting the straight bar, said backrest (13) and said seat (12) being laterally stable in connection with said two side portions (11), characterized in that said means for connecting the straight bar comprise a connecting rod (14), said chair being removable and easy to stack.

2. Chair according to claim 1, characterized in that said connecting rod (14) is made integral with one side of said side portion (11).

3. Chair according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said connecting rod (14) is made integral with the transverse portions (18,19) of said side portions (11).

4. Chair according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said connecting rod (14) is made integral with the leg (17) of said side portion (11).

5. Chair according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the connecting rod (14) is welded to the side portion (11).

6. Chair according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the connecting rod (14) is detachable from the side (11).

7. Chair according to claim 6, characterized in that connecting means (35) are provided present in said side portion (11) suitable for associating said connecting rod (14) with said side portion (11) or for separating said connecting rod (14) from said side portion (11), said connecting means (35) comprising axial holes (45) provided at opposite ends of said connecting rod (14) and pins (46) provided on both side portions (11) and configured to cooperate with said axial holes (45).

8. Chair as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that said connection means (35) comprise a support element (48) projecting from each side (11), configured to assist and support the connection between said connecting rod (14) and said side (11), and provided with stabilizing clamping means (50) for limiting said connection.

9. Chair according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that first engagement/disengagement means (15) are provided to associate said backrest (13) with said sides (11) or to separate said backrest (13) from said sides (11), having fixing elements (27, 33, 34) in the backrest (13) cooperating with one or more cooperating elements (26, 28, 39) present in at least one upright (16) of each side (11) and suitable to be connected to said fixing elements (27, 33, 34).

10. Chair as in claim 9, characterized in that said fixing elements (27, 33, 34) comprise a pin (27) disposed at each side (20) of said backrest (13) and directed downwards, said sides (20) being suitable for cooperating with said uprights (16), while said cooperating elements (26, 28, 39) comprise an axial hole (26) disposed at the top of each upright (16) and configured for selectively coupling with said pin (27).

11. Chair as in claim 9, characterized in that said cooperating elements (26, 28, 39) comprise pins provided at the top and facing upwards of each upright (16), while said fixing elements (27, 33, 34) comprise holes provided at the bottom of each edge (20) of said backrest (13), said edges (20) being suitable for cooperating with said uprights (16), said holes being configured for being selectively coupled to said pins provided on said uprights (16).

12. Chair as in any claim from 9 to 11, characterized in that said fixing elements (27, 33, 34) comprise recesses (33) provided on opposite sides (20) of said backrest (13) in correspondence of the position of said uprights (16) of said sides (11), said recesses (33) being configured to receive and at least partially contain said uprights (16).

13. Chair as in any claim from 9 to 12, characterized in that said cooperating element (26, 28, 39) comprises at least one extension (28) arranged horizontally projecting from each upright (16), configured to abut against the surface of said backrest (13) facing the lower edge (21) of said seat (12), suitable to be associated with said backrest (13).

14. Chair according to any of claims 9 to 13, characterized in that the engaging elements (26, 28, 39) comprise protrusions (39) arranged to project horizontally from the uprights, while the fixing elements (27, 33, 34) comprise slots (34) arranged at opposite sides (20) of the backrest (13) and starting from the lower edge (21) of the backrest (13) towards the seat (12), the protrusions (39) being configured to engage with the slots (34).

15. Chair according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that second engagement/disengagement means (25) are provided for stably associating the seat (12) with the side portions (11) or separating the seat (12) from the side portions (11), said second engagement/disengagement means (25) comprising a connection plate (36) cooperating with attachment means (38) configured to connect the seat (12) and the side portions (11) in a selectively releasable manner.

16. Chair according to claim 15, characterized in that the shape of the connecting plate (36) is such that a covering protection element (43) can be used.

17. Chair according to claim 16, characterized in that said covering protection element (43) is connected to said connecting plate (36) in a selectively releasable manner by means of a snap coupling.

Technical Field

The invention relates to a perfect chair.

More particularly, it relates to a chair, or more generally to a base element, the frame of which consists of a tube or a circular piece made of iron or steel, and which uses a seat and a backrest. The seat and the backrest may be provided separately or integrally.

Background

The present invention is intended to break through the state of the art in the production of this type of chair.

Generally, these chairs have substantially identical sides, the base forming at least one closed polygon, and for stability, they require at least two transverse connecting rods firmly joined to the sides.

This technique can cause cost issues as well as transportation and storage issues.

Storage is important during production, and in situations where a large number of chairs are to be stacked for transportation, temporary or non-temporary storage, and cleaning activities.

During storage of the known chairs, for example when stacked, damage may be caused to the frame and possibly also to the seat and/or backrest.

In current competitive architectures, and for desirable architectures, the two issues identified above relate to increasingly unsustainable economic and regulatory situations.

The applicant has therefore set himself the aim of overcoming these disadvantages and of producing chairs that are robust, low-cost and easy to control in storage and transport.

Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a chair which is controllable in the disassembled condition and which is easy to assemble resulting in a chair which is robust, aesthetically pleasing and possibly easy to store.

The applicant has studied, tested and embodied the present invention to overcome the deficiencies of the state of the art and to obtain these and other objects and advantages.

Disclosure of Invention

The invention is set forth and presented in the independent claims, while the dependent claims describe other characteristics of the invention or variants to the main inventive idea.

In accordance with the above purposes, a chair according to the present invention comprises two opposite and cooperating sides, a connecting device of the straight bar type suitably and stably separating the two sides, and a backrest and a seat in use.

The side and straight bar type connecting means define the frame of the chair.

According to the present invention, the above-mentioned straight bar type connecting means, the backrest and the seat section are laterally stably connected to both side sections.

Each side portion generally has an element or upright which cooperates, in use, with the backrest, and a lower portion or support structure designated as the actual base element which supports and positions the seat, which generally has a closed polygonal configuration.

According to another aspect of the present invention, the chair may be disassembled and easily stacked.

According to another aspect of the invention, the straight bar type connection device comprises a connection bar.

According to the first embodiment, the two side portions are stably connected by the connecting rod welded to each side portion, and are integrally fabricated with each other.

According to a variant, the connecting rods can be detached by means of connecting means to simplify the storage and transport of the chair.

According to one embodiment, a chair is provided with:

-first engagement/disengagement means associating the backrest with the sides or separating the backrest and the sides;

-second engagement/disengagement means associating or separating the seat with the side portion.

Each side portion may have one post associated with the backrest.

Each upright is provided with the above-mentioned first engagement/disengagement means suitable for cooperating with the backrest when connected.

The first means stabilizes the interconnection between the backrest and the side portions, thereby making the chair stable and durable.

The first engagement/disengagement means have a fixing element located in the backrest which cooperates with one or more cooperating elements present in the uprights and automatically forms a stable connection. In this way, the backrest can be easily and quickly assembled to or disassembled from the side portions.

According to a variant, it is also possible to provide a connection that can be stabilized by screws or expansion pins or the like, in order to cooperate with the first engagement/disengagement means and to make the backrest removable.

According to the invention, the second engagement/disengagement means comprise a connecting plate of known type, provided on the lateral side, for stably placing the seat or seating surface on the side.

Whereas the engagement/disengagement means are advantageous for preventing damage to the chair, in particular to the frame when storing the same chairs without the seat, for example when stacking them.

According to a variant of the invention, the shape of the connection plate makes it possible to use a covering protection element.

The cover element serves the function of preventing the person sitting in the chair from injuring the fingers, but also serves other functions. Cover the original paper and play the decoration effect, avoid exposing of connecting plate.

The covering element also serves to protect the surface of the seat on which the chair is stacked. In fact, the covering element is located under the seat of the chair, preventing the surface of the seat from being damaged by the connecting plate.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the covering protection element is connected to the connection plate in a selectively releasable manner by means of a snap-in coupling. In this way, advantageously, once the covering element is associated with the connecting plate, the covering element cannot accidentally fall off during transport or storage operations, but can only be removed intentionally, for example with the intervention of an operator.

To facilitate understanding, identical reference numerals have been used, where possible, to designate identical elements that are common to the figures. It is to be understood that elements and features of one embodiment may be beneficially incorporated in other embodiments without further recitation.

Detailed Description

Reference will now be made in detail to the various embodiments of the invention, one or more examples of which are illustrated in the figures. Each example is provided by way of illustration of the invention and is not to be construed as a limitation of the invention. For instance, features illustrated or described as part of one embodiment can be used on or in conjunction with other embodiments to yield yet a further embodiment. It is to be understood that the invention may include all such modifications and alterations.

Referring to figures 1-2, the chair 10 comprises two opposite and cooperating side portions 11, a connecting means of the straight bar type suitably and stably separating the two side portions 11, and a backrest 13 and a seat 12 in use.

The backrest 13 and the seat 12 are laterally stable connecting the two side portions 11.

The seat 12 and the backrest 13 may be provided separately or integrally.

The material of the seat 12 and the backrest 13 may be metal, or partly metal, or wood or plastic.

The chair 10 may advantageously be disassembled in accordance with the present invention. Thus, the chair 10 is easily stored and transported in a small space at low cost.

According to the invention, the straight bar type connection means comprise a connection bar 14.

The side portion 11 may have a frame made of a circular piece or tube made of iron or steel, which uses a seat 12 and a backrest 13.

Each side portion 11 is provided with a post 16 adapted to be connected to the backrest 13.

In particular, each upright 16 is provided with an upper end 23 that can be associated with the backrest 13.

According to one embodiment, the posts 16 may be rods or metal round pieces of different shapes and sizes depending on the type of resulting chair 10 and on its aesthetic characteristics.

Each side 11 is also provided with a support structure 17, 18,19 associated with the upright 16 and generally shaped as a closed polygon.

The support structure 17, 18,19 may include at least two legs 17 on each side 11 that are adapted to rest and support the chair 10 on a support surface and one or more transverse portions 18, 19.

The legs 17 of one side portion 11 are interconnected by at least one first transverse portion 18 adapted to support the seat portion 12.

The legs 17 of one side portion 11 may be interconnected by several transverse portions 18, 19.

These cross-pieces 18,19 may be provided together with the legs 17, possibly defining a closed polygon as described above.

The closed polygon may be rectangular, trapezoidal, or square, or any other shape, depending on the aesthetic characteristics imparted to the chair 10.

It is not excluded that the support structures 17, 18,19 are plate or plate-like, concave, convex, inclined or any other shape depending on the aesthetic characteristics imparted to the chair 10.

The first cross portion 18 may be directly connected to the upright 16.

Thus, the post 16 and backrest 13 may be disposed obliquely relative to the first cross portion 18 and at an angle relative to the seat 12 to support the user's back in an ergonomically comfortable manner.

According to one embodiment, the first transverse portions 18 of the two side portions 11 may advantageously be arched to adapt the characteristics of the side portions 11 at the point of connection with the seat 12.

According to one embodiment, the side portion 11 may advantageously be integrally formed.

According to one embodiment, the side portion 11 may be formed from a segmented metal rod to define the upright 16 and the support structure 17, 18, 19. For example, the support structure 17, 18,19 formed by one segmented bar may be trapezoidal, corresponding to a shorter base of a first transverse portion 18 and a longer base of another transverse portion 19 parallel to the first transverse portion 18.

In this way, it is possible to obtain a satisfactory lightweight aesthetic side 11, without the need for welds or other attachment means (for example screws) between the upright 16 and the support structure 17, 18,19 or inside the support structure 17, 18,19 itself. In addition, such side portions 11 require less material and work during manufacture, and the resulting chair 10 is inexpensive and aesthetically pleasing.

According to the invention, the uprights 16 of the lateral sides 11 end in the desired relative position with respect to the backrest 13.

The shape and size of the backrest 13 can be of various types but must be reasonably arranged to receive and support the back of the user.

While the backrest 13 is provided with two opposite sides 20 configured to be associated respectively with the uprights 16 of the side portions 11, the lower side 21 being directed towards the seat 12 and the upper side 22 being opposite the lower side 21.

The seat 12 may also take on a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the comfort of the user and the overall aesthetics of the chair 10.

According to one embodiment, the connecting rod 14 is integrally formed with one side of the side portion 11, thereby connecting and supporting the opposite side portion 11 in a vertical position.

In particular, the connecting rod 14 is provided with diametrically opposite front end portions 14a, respectively associated with the sides 11, so as to laterally connect the sides 11.

According to another embodiment, the connecting rods 14 can be integrally formed with the lateral portions 18,19 (fig. 7 and 7a) of the lateral portions 11, facilitating a proper and stable separation of the lateral portions 11.

According to another embodiment, the connecting rods 14 may be integrally formed with the legs 17 (FIGS. 1 and 2) of the side portions 11, laterally and integrally connecting the two side portions 11 to define an integral frame of the chair 10.

According to another embodiment, the connecting rod 14 can be welded to the side 11 so as to be stably and tightly constrained to the two opposite sides 11. This solution is particularly useful in situations where rapid assembly is required.

According to another embodiment, the connecting rods 14 can be detached from the side portions 11, thereby reducing bulk during storage and transport.

According to one embodiment, chair 10 is provided with connection means present in side portions 11 (figures 2, 7 and 8), suitable for associating connection bar 14 with side portions 11 or for separating connection bar 14 from side portions 11.

According to a variant, the connection means 35 comprise axial holes 45 provided at the opposite ends of the connecting rod 14 and mirror-image pins 46 or pins provided on the two sides 11 and configured to cooperate with the axial holes 45.

According to certain variations, the pin 46 may be welded, fitted, screwed, or attached to the side portion 11 in another manner.

According to one embodiment, the pins 46 of one side 11 are arranged to project towards the opposite side 11 and to align with the mirror image pins 46 of the opposite side 11 to ensure proper lateral assembly of the connecting rod 14 to the sides 11.

The shape of the front end portion 14a of the connecting rod 14 is advantageous for adapting the characteristics of the side portion 11 at the point of connection. For example, referring to fig. 7a, the leading end portion may be arcuate.

According to a variant, the connection means 35 comprise a support element 48, which protrudes from each side 11, is configured to assist and support the connection between the connecting rod 14 and the side 11, and is provided with stabilizing clamping means 50 for limiting the above-mentioned connection.

The support member 48 may be associated with the pin 46.

According to one embodiment, the support element 48 may be a flat extension, supporting the connecting rod 14.

According to another embodiment, the support element 48 may be a concave seat shaped to cooperate with the connecting rod 14.

According to another embodiment, the support element 48 may be a female tubular element containing the pin 46, configured to receive and surround the front end portion 14a of the connecting rod 14.

The support element 48 may be constrained to the side portion 11 by mechanical attachment means, such as screws, or by joints.

The support member 48 may be welded to the upright 16.

The support element 48 may be provided with at least one through aperture 49. The through-going aperture 49 may be a possibly threaded through-going hole.

The connecting rod 14 may be provided with at least one transverse bore 47 at each end.

The transverse bore 47 may be a blind bore. The transverse bore 47 may be threaded.

According to one embodiment, the through-going apertures 49 are configured to align with the cross-holes 47 at each end of the connecting rod 14 during assembly (fig. 7 a). In this way, the connecting rod 14 can be constrained to the support element 48 by the above-mentioned clamping means 50, for example by means of a clamping screw.

According to one aspect of the invention, the chair 10 is provided with first engagement/disengagement means 15 (figures 2-5) to associate the backrest 13 with the side portions 11 or to disengage the backrest 13 from the side portions 11.

According to one embodiment, the first engagement/disengagement means 15 have a fixing element 27, 33, 34 located in the backrest 13 cooperating with one or more cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 present in at least one upright 16 of each side portion 11 and suitable for being connected to the fixing element 27, 33, 34.

According to one embodiment, the fixing elements 27, 33, 34 may comprise a pin 27, which is arranged on each side 20 of the backrest 13 and faces downwards. The rim 20 is adapted to engage the post 16.

According to one embodiment, the cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 may comprise an axial hole 26 provided at the top of each upright 16, in the upper end 23 and configured to be selectively coupled with the pin 27. According to certain variants, the pin 27 may be fitted, screwed or attached to the backrest 13 together with other attachment means.

According to one embodiment, the fixing elements 27, 33, 34 can also comprise a recess 33 provided on each side 20 of the backrest 13 in correspondence with the position in which the upright 16 of the side portion 11 is located. The recess 33 is advantageously configured to receive and at least partially contain the post 16.

The upper end 23 of the upright 16 is adapted to abut against an abutment surface 24 provided in the recess 33.

According to one embodiment, the pin 27 is arranged protruding from the abutment surface 24 in the recess 33 and is adapted to cooperate with the axial hole 26 present in the upper end 23 of the upright 16 of the side portion 11.

According to one embodiment, the groove 33 may be configured to partially or completely surround the post 16 depending on the aesthetic characteristics to be obtained.

Thus, if the post 16 is a rod, for example, the groove may be cylindrical, semi-cylindrical or present at least one arched wall 33a (fig. 3) to receive and guide the post 16 during assembly/disassembly.

According to another embodiment (not shown), the cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 may comprise pins provided at the top and facing upwards of each upright 16, while the fixing elements 27, 33, 34 comprise holes provided at the bottom of each edge 20 of the backrest 13, said holes being configured to be selectively coupled to pins provided on the uprights 16.

The choice between the above-described configurations of the cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 and of the fixing elements 27, 33, 34 depends on the type of chair in terms of size, shape and material, and on the degree of modularity desired for easier, safer and faster transport, storage and assembly of the chair 10 itself, for example by choosing to provide pins (not shown) and/or axial holes 26 on the uprights 16 to couple the sides 11 to the backrest 13.

According to one embodiment, the cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 of the first engagement/disengagement means 15 comprise at least one extension 28, which projects horizontally from each upright 16, is configured to rest against the surface of the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13 and is suitable to be associated with the backrest 13.

The extension 28 may be provided with a through hole 29.

The extension 28 may be disposed on the inside of each column 16 facing the other column 16.

A blind hole 30 may be provided in the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13, corresponding to and aligned with the through hole 29 of the extension 28, so as to limit the backrest 13 to the extension 28 by means of stop means 31, for example screws, expansion pins or other mechanical attachment elements. The blind hole 30 may be threaded to allow the threading of a screw 31.

According to one possible embodiment (not shown), the extension 28 may be defined by a rod, which projects transversely to the upright 16 and is configured to cooperate with suitable apertures provided on each side 20 of the backrest 13.

According to another possible embodiment (not shown), the extension 28 may be provided with a pin or rod that protrudes upwards, is provided transversely to the extension 28, and is configured to cooperate with the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13.

The possible configurations of the extension 28 may depend on the different types of sizes and materials of the chair 10 and on the degree of removability to be achieved.

According to a variant, the seat 32 can be provided in the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13, suitable for receiving and cooperating with the extension 28, which is advantageous but not necessary. In this way, the extension 28 and the stop means 31 are embedded in the seat 32, avoiding an unsightly bulge of the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13.

According to one embodiment, the extension 28 protrudes from each side 11 by a distance of 1cm to 8cm, preferably by a distance of 2cm to 6cm, depending on the size of the backrest 13 and more generally on the size of the chair 10.

The extension 28 may be associated with the post 16 by mechanical attachment means such as screws or by bayonet, dovetail or articulating means.

As shown by way of example in fig. 5, the extension 28 may be welded to the upright 16 by a weld 51.

According to one embodiment, the cooperating elements 26, 28, 39 may comprise protrusions 39 arranged to protrude from the upright 16.

According to another embodiment, the fixing elements 27, 33, 34 may comprise slots 34 provided on opposite sides 20 of the backrest 13 and starting from the lower edge 21 of the backrest. The protrusion 39 is configured to mate with the slot 34.

The protrusion 39 may have a rectangular shape parallel to the shape of the upright 16.

The projection 39 may be rectangular and its upper end may be shaped to facilitate insertion into the slot 34. The protrusion 39 may be, for example, rectangular or semi-cylindrical.

The projection 39 may define a rectangular plate configured to project laterally beyond the upper end 23 of the post 16, at a vertical position above the extension 28, and in contact therewith.

The projection 39 may be provided at the top and projecting laterally beyond the upper end 23 of the upright 16. In this way, the projections 39 may define or possibly cooperate with the above-mentioned pins (not shown) arranged to be located at the top of the upright 16 and directed upwards, to attach the backrest 13 to the side portion 11.

According to another embodiment, the projections 39 may be welded to the extension 28 and the post 16. This solution may reduce the cost and time to produce the chair 10.

The protrusion 39 from the post 16 may be smaller than the protrusion of the extension 28 such that the two, when associated, generally form an "L" shaped protrusion.

The projection 39 may be provided on the inside of the upright 16 of one side 11 facing the upright 16 of the other opposite side 11.

According to one embodiment, the slot 34 may be disposed along the arcuate wall 33a of the recess 22 of the backrest 13.

According to one embodiment, the slot 34 has a rectangular shape perpendicular to the lower edge 21 so as to allow the insertion of the projection 39.

According to another embodiment, the slot 34 is shaped and dimensioned to allow and guide the insertion of the projection 39 therein by sliding.

According to one embodiment, the backrest 13 is assembled to the side portions 11, the use of the backrest 13 being such that the two pins 27 of the opposite sides 20 of the backrest 13 penetrate in the axial blind holes of the respective uprights 16 of the two side portions 11.

According to another embodiment, the backrest 13 is assembled to the side portion 11 so that the two projections 39 of the two uprights 16 slide in the slots 34 of the two opposite sides 20 of the backrest 13. In this way, the connection of the backrest 13 to the side portion 11 is more stable and direct.

After assembly (fig. 5), the two extensions 28 present in the upright 16 cooperate with two seats 32 present at the opposite ends of the lower edge 21 of the backrest 13 and with stop means 31, such as screws, forming a single piece.

According to one aspect of the invention, the chair 10 is provided with second engagement/disengagement means 25 (figures 2, 6 and 6a) to stably associate the seat 12 with the side portions 11 or to separate the seat 12 from the side portions 11.

According to one embodiment, the second engagement/disengagement means 25 comprise a connection plate 36, provided on the side portion 11, which can be used to stabilize and properly use the seat 12.

These connection plates 36 may project laterally beyond the first transverse portion 18 of the support structure 17, 18,19 of each side portion 11.

Each connecting plate 36 may be provided on each side portion 11, and provided to protrude toward the opposite side portion 11.

Each connecting plate 36 may be provided with at least one through hole 37.

According to one embodiment, the connecting plate 36 may cooperate with attachment means 38, such as screws, expansion pins, or other means configured to connect the seat 12 and side 11 in a selectively releasable manner.

In the example of fig. 6a, the seat 12 is arranged to rest on the webs 36 of the two side portions 11 and is constrained to the webs 36 by means of attachment screws 38. The attachment screws are inserted in the through holes 37 of the plate 36 and screwed into corresponding blind holes 54 present in the bottom of the seat 12.

According to another embodiment, each connecting plate 36 may have at least two through holes 37 to improve the safety and stability of the assembly of the seat 12 to the side portion 11.

According to one embodiment, the connection plates 36 protrude from the side portions 11 by a distance of 1cm to 10cm, preferably by a distance of 2cm to 6cm, depending on the size of the seat 12 and more generally on the size of the chair 10.

The web 36 may be detachable from the side portion 11, connected to the side portion 11 by a joint, or connected to the side portion 11 by a mechanical attachment.

The web 36 may be welded to the side 11.

According to one embodiment, each connection plate 36 is provided with at least one flat contact surface 40, on which a through hole 37 is provided, configured to be in contact with seat 12. In this way, the seat 12 abuts as much as possible against the contact surface of the connecting plate 36.

According to another embodiment, the connection plate 36 has at least one variant, for example a stepped shape in plan, in the middle of which is a flat contact surface 40 raised with respect to two lateral surfaces 41.

According to one embodiment, the side surface 41 is configured not to be in contact with the seat 12.

According to another embodiment, referring to fig. 6, the flat contact surface 40 may be elevated with respect to the two side surfaces 41, thereby defining a void 42 between the two side surfaces, below the flat contact surface.

The hollow 42 may advantageously accommodate a protruding portion of the attachment means 38, for example the head of an attachment screw, preventing it from dangerously protruding from the seat 12.

According to another embodiment, in use, the connection plate 36 may use a covering element 43 configured to cover the raised portion of the attachment means 38, for example covering the head of the attachment screw. In this manner, the attachment devices 38 are completely covered, avoiding potential hazards to the user and improving the overall aesthetic appearance of the chair 10.

Advantageously, the cover element 43 can be used with the connecting plate 36 after the seat 12 has been assembled firmly on the side portion 11, i.e. with the above-mentioned connecting plate 36 cooperating with the attachment means 38. In this manner, the cover element 43 may be easily inserted and replaced as needed without having to disassemble the chair 10 again. Furthermore, the covering element 43 avoids the user from directly touching the raised portion of the attachment means 38, thereby avoiding possible injuries to the user, while leaving the seat 12 and the side portions 11 of each of the stacked chairs 10 undamaged by the stacked storage of the chairs 10.

Referring to fig. 6, the cover element 43 may be box-like having at least one housing seat 44 with a shape complementary to the shape of the web 36. In this way, the covering element 43 can be associated with the connection plate 36 according to the direction of the arrow F, so that the connection plate 36 is scored into the above-mentioned housing base 44.

According to one embodiment, the housing seat 44 of the covering element 43 is configured to surround and hold the side surface 41. In this way, the covering element 43 is easily and quickly connected to the connection plate 36.

The covering element 43 is configured to cover the entire lower surface of the connection plate 36, on which the attachment means 38 project, for example the heads of screws.

The material of the covering element 43 may advantageously be, for example, plastic, silicone, rubber or felt, so as to be easily inserted into the attachment plate 36 and not to damage the seat 12 of the chair 10 when another chair 10 is stacked thereon.

According to one embodiment, the covering element 43 may be configured to cover the void 42.

As shown by way of example in fig. 6-6a, housing base 44 may be configured to slide only over side surface 41 of web 36 to effect engagement, thereby covering voids 42 that may be provided on web 36. In this way, the flat contact surface 40 is not covered, ensuring a direct abutment of the flat contact surface 40 and the seat 12.

According to one embodiment, the covering elements 43 are provided with at least one insert seat 52 configured to receive, by means of a snap coupling, a snap element 53 provided on each covering element 43. Advantageously, this snap coupling allows the covering element 43 to be connected to the connecting plate 36 in a selectively releasable manner.

The insert seat 52 may be a recess or a concave surface adapted to hold the snap element 53. An insert base 52 may be formed in the void 42.

According to one embodiment, the insert seat 52 may comprise a through aperture (fig. 6) on the flat contact surface 40 of the web 36, suitable for allowing the insertion of the snap-in element 53. The through-hole may be, for example, a square, circular, rectangular, or polygonal hole.

The insert seat 52 may be provided on the flat contact surface 40 between the through holes 37.

According to one embodiment, the snap-in element 53 may comprise a moving pin configured to snap or hinge into the insert base 52 after the cover element 43 is properly in place on the web 36.

According to another embodiment, the snap-in element 53 may comprise a retaining tooth.

According to another embodiment, the snap-in element 53 may comprise an elastic return element, such as a spring or an element made of a partially flexible material.

The catch element 53 can be located in the housing base 44 of the cover element 43.

According to a possible variant, the plug-in seat 52 can be provided on the covering element 43 and the snap-in element 53 can be provided on the connection plate 36, so that, with the covering element 43 properly positioned, the covering element is inserted into the plug-in seat 52. According to one embodiment, each side portion 11 may be provided with at least two connecting plates 36, so as to increase the stability of the support of the seat 12.

Each web 36 (fig. 2) of a side portion 11 may be aligned with a respective opposing web 36 disposed on the other opposing side portion 11. In this manner, the weight of the seat 12 and the user may be evenly distributed during use of the chair 10.

According to one embodiment, the seat 12 may be integral, facilitating assembly/disassembly operations.

According to a variant, the seat 12 may be composed of several bodies, for example slats, each configured to be connected to two pairs of opposite connecting plates 36 and arranged in alignment to define the seat 12.

It is clear that modifications and/or additions of parts may be made to the chair 10 as described heretofore, without departing from the field of the present invention.

It is also clear that, although the present invention has been described with reference to some specific examples, a person of skill in the art shall certainly be able to achieve many other equivalent forms of chair 10, having the characteristics as set forth in the claims and hence all coming within the field of protection defined thereby.
