Detailed Description

With reference to the described figures, there is shown an assembly kit comprising at least one motorcycle luggage case 10 and a support frame 100 configured to be associable with the frame of a motorcycle.

The support frame 100 includes at least one tubular member 111 and 114 that includes at least one engageable element 120 for each luggage case 10.

Only one luggage case 10 and only one engagable element 120 are shown in fig. 1-14, however, a plurality of luggage cases 10 may alternatively be included, each detachably mounted together with a respective engagable element 120 of the plurality of engagable elements 120 mounted on different portions of the support frame 100, respectively, so as to be able to mount the plurality of luggage cases 10. For example, it may be included that each tubular element 111 and 114 includes a respective engageable element 120.

As shown in detail in figures 1, 2, 11, 13-14, the support frame 100 comprises four tubular elements 111 and 114 arranged according to a quadrangular configuration, comprising an upper tubular element 111, two lateral tubular elements 113 and 144 and a lower tubular element 112. The lateral tubular element 113 comprises at least one further tubular element 115 suitable for being associated with said frame of the motorcycle. The upper tubular member 111 mounts the engageable element 120.

The engageable element 120 extends toward the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10 and is adapted to be inserted into a through opening 15 of the luggage case 10 hollowed out in the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10.

The engageable element 120 further comprises a through opening 125 that allows passage from an upper portion to a lower portion of the engageable element 120.

The luggage case 10 includes a rear wall 11, the rear wall 11 being transitionable from a position engaged with the support frame 100 to a position disengaged from the support frame 100.

The luggage case 10 includes a side wall 12 that is easily accessible to a person. The luggage case 10 includes a control mechanism 20 including at least one control rod 25.

The control mechanism 20 is securely mounted with the side wall 12 of the luggage case 10 such that it is easily accessible and advantageously makes it easy to control the assembly of the luggage case 10 on the support frame 100/disassembly of the luggage case 10 from the support frame 100.

The luggage case includes a catch mechanism 30 that includes at least one engagement element 32.

The engaging element 32 is transitionable from a position of engagement with the engageable element 120 of the support frame 100 to a position of disengagement with the engageable element 120.

Luggage case 10 includes a lever system 40 including a cord 41 having a first end connected to control mechanism 20 and a second end connected to catch mechanism 30.

The engaging member 32 is slidably mounted with the luggage case 10 so as to be transitionable from the position of engagement with the engageable member 120 to the position of disengagement with the engageable member 120.

As shown in fig. 3, 4, 7, 10, the engagement element 32 is slidably mounted in a seat 14 hollowed out in the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10.

The engagement element 32 is connected to the second end of the cord 41 of the rod system 40. As shown in detail in fig. 7 and 10, the second end of the cord 41 is mounted with the lower portion 37 of the engagement element 32.

The hooking mechanism 30 comprises two elastic return elements 35 mounted on a sliding guide 36 for the engagement element 32. The sliding guides 36 are vertically arranged cylinders, on top of each of which an elastic return element 35 is mounted, said elastic return element 35 being a helical spring. Each elastic return element 35 can pass from a position of maximum elongation to a position of minimum elongation. The position of maximum elongation of the elastic return element 35 corresponds to said position of engagement between said engagement element 32 and said engageable element 120. Said minimum elongation position of the elastic return element 35 corresponds to said position of separation between said engagement element 32 and said engageable element 120.

Alternatively, only one elastic return element 35 may be included.

The through opening 15 of the rear wall 11 of the luggage item 10 is arranged at said catch mechanism 30. The through opening 15 is adapted to allow said engageable element 120 of the support frame 100 to pass between the outside of said luggage case 10 and said hooking mechanism 30, so that said engaging element 32 can pass from said position of engagement with said engageable element 120 to said position of disengagement with said engageable element 120.

In the disengaged position of the engagement elements 32, the luggage case 10 may be transitioned from the engaged position with the support frame 100 to the disengaged position with the support frame 100.

As shown in detail in fig. 7 and 10, the engaging element 32 comprises a through opening 33 adapted to allow passage of said engageable element 120.

The engageable element 120 passes through the through opening 15 of the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10 and through the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32 when the engaging element 32 is in the disengaged position.

The engagement elements 32 of the hooking mechanism 30 comprise engagement teeth 34 adapted to engage with respective seats 125 of the engageable elements 120.

Alternatively, it may be included that the seat 125 is not through-going, but is merely configured as a cavity dug out in a lower portion of the engageable element 120, wherein said cavity is adapted to receive the engaging tooth 34 when the engaging element 32 is brought into the engaged position.

As particularly shown in fig. 13, the at least one engageable element 120 comprises a seat 125 for the engaging tooth 34 of the engaging element 32 of the at least one luggage item 10, wherein the seat 125 is a through opening having dimensions allowing the engaging tooth 34 to pass therethrough.

The engaging element 32 is in the form of a quadrilateral and comprises a lower portion 37 and an upper portion 38 separated by the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32. The engagement teeth 34 extend upward in a vertical direction from a lower portion 37 of the engagement element 32. The engagement teeth 34 extend inside the through opening 33 of the engagement element 32.

The through opening 33 must allow passage of the engaging element 120 when the engageable element 32 is in the disengaged position, and therefore sufficient vertical space is included between the upper end of the engaging tooth 34 and the upper portion 38 of the engaging element 32 to allow the engageable element 120 to pass through the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32 in the disengaged position of the engaging element 32.

As shown in detail in fig. 3, 4, 7 and 10, the lever system 40 comprises at least one pulley 42 adapted to allow the sliding of the rope 41. The pulley 42 is rotatably mounted at the catch mechanism 30. When the lever 25 is rotated from the first position to the second position, the cable 41 is pulled. Advantageously, the pulleys 42 allow the engagement element 32 to be pulled from top to bottom, thereby reducing the force required to remove the luggage case 10 from the support frame 100, wherein in the top position the engagement element 32 is in the engaged position and in the bottom position the engagement element 32 is in the disengaged position.

The lever 25 is rotatably mounted with the side wall 12 of the luggage case 10. The control rod 25 may be mounted to any wall of the luggage case 10 to assist in the assembly and disassembly operations of the luggage case 10 to facilitate access to the control rod 25 by a person.

The control lever 25 is connected to the second end of the cable 41 of the lever system 40. The lever 25 rotates about the pin 21 to transition from the first position to the second position. The pin 21 is hinged to the side wall 12. The first position corresponds to the position of engagement between the engagement element 32 and the engageable element 120, and the second position corresponds to the position of disengagement between the engagement element 32 and the engageable element 120.

The second position of the lever 25 comprises that the lever 25 pulls the cord 41, thereby shifting the engagement element 32 from the position of engagement with the engageable element 120 to the position of disengagement with the engageable element 120.

As shown in detail in fig. 3, 4, 5, 7, the lever 25 includes a cam 26 mounted inside the luggage case 10. Cam 26 is connected to a first end of a cable 41 of lever system 40.

The rod system 40 includes a covering 45 adapted to permit passage of the cord 41 therethrough. The cover 45 is mounted with the control mechanism 20 by the stopper portion 24 of the control mechanism 20, which stopper portion 24 holds the cover 45.

As shown in detail in fig. 2, 6 and 8, the control rod 25 is knob-shaped to facilitate its rotation by a person, who can operate the control rod 25 in a simpler manner.

As shown in detail in fig. 11-14, the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10 comprises engaging means 13 for supporting the associated engageable means 130 of the frame 100, said engaging means 13 and engageable means 130 being engaged by interlocking with each other.

In connection with the operation, the luggage case 10 is mounted with the support frame 100 such that the luggage case transitions from a position separated from the support frame 100 to a position engaged with the support frame 100.

The control lever 25 is shifted from the first position to the second position, thereby controlling the engagement element 32 via the lever system 40.

The engaging element 32, controlled by the lever 25 of the control mechanism 20, is transferred from the engaging position to the disengaging position to allow passage of at least a portion of the engageable element 120 through the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32.

Once the engageable element 120 has passed through the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32, the control rod 25 is returned to the first position, bringing the engaging element 32 into the position of engagement with the engageable element 120. The teeth 34 of the engaging element 32 pass through the through opening 125 of the engageable element 120, thereby preventing the engageable element 120 from being able to exit the through opening 33 of the engaging element 32 and the through opening 15 of the rear wall 11 of the luggage case 10, respectively. In this manner, the luggage case 10 is mounted with the support frame 100 and the assembly kit is in the installed configuration.

Advantageously, the luggage case 10 can be easily assembled and disassembled from the support frame 100 associable with a motorcycle, the control mechanism 20 for assembling and disassembling the luggage case 10 being easily accessible and safe, thus overcoming the drawbacks of the prior art.

Advantageously, the kit of parts comprising the luggage case 10 and the support frame 100 allows easy assembly and disassembly of the motorcycle luggage case 10 from the support frame 100 associable with the motorcycle, the control mechanism 20 for assembling and disassembling the luggage case being easily accessible and safe, overcoming the drawbacks of the prior art.

Alternatively, it may be included that the lever system 40 includes a plurality of cords 41 for transferring control of the control mechanism 20 to a corresponding plurality of catch mechanisms 30 positioned at different points of the luggage case 10 for engaging a corresponding plurality of engageable elements 120.

Alternatively, the support frame 100 may be a plate comprising at least one engageable element 120. Alternatively, the engaging element 32 may be a hook hinged to the rear wall 11 of the luggage case, said hook being adapted to pass from a position of engagement with the engageable element 120 to a disengaged position.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all falling within the same inventive concept; moreover, all the details may be replaced with technically equivalent elements. In practice, the materials used, as well as the dimensions, may be of any type according to the technical requirements.
