Technical Field

The present invention relates to a keeper for a portable lock having a lock body with a locking mechanism and a spring loaded button. The holder has at least a first holding section and a second holding section, which is arranged opposite the first holding section with respect to the receiving space for the lock body, wherein the first holding section and the second holding section are configured to engage around the lock body at a first side of the lock body and at a second side of the lock body arranged opposite the first side when inserted into the holder in the introduction direction. The invention also relates to a lock system comprising such a retainer; and an associated lock.

Background

In mobile applications, such a lock may be used to secure an object (e.g., a two-wheeled vehicle, a piece of sports equipment, or a piece of luggage) to a stationary object or to secure the object. When not in use, i.e. when the lock does not require its locking function, the associated holder is used to easily and reliably carry the portable lock. For this purpose, the first and second holding portions of the holder may define an accommodation space into which the lock may be inserted.

During transport of the lock, for example during riding with a two-wheeled vehicle, it is important that the lock inserted in the holder is not unintentionally released from the holder, for example due to vibrations. For example, DE 202005013390U 1 discloses a holder for folding locks, in which a tab can be placed over a lock inserted into the holder in order to fix the lock in the receiving space of the holder.

Disclosure of Invention

It is an object of the present invention to provide a holder for a portable lock of the kind described in which the lock can be easily inserted into the holder and when not in use the lock is reliably secured in the holder.

This object is achieved by a holder having the features of claim 1 and in particular in that the holder has, at least at the first holding portion, a fixing opening which is formed to engage a spring-loaded push button of the lock body in order to thereby fasten the lock body to prevent unintentional release of the lock body from the holder opposite to the introduction direction.

Such a holder can be engaged around the lock body of a portable or mobile lock, whereby the lock is fixed at least in a transverse direction in the receiving space of the holder delimited by the two holding portions of the holder. The lock body can be inserted into the receiving space along the introduction direction. Furthermore, since the holder has a fixing opening at least at one of the holding portions, the holder fixes the lock body, the spring-loaded push button of which engages into the fastening opening, against unintentional release opposite to the introduction direction. Since the fixing opening is provided at one of the holding parts of the holder, which engage around the lock body at two mutually opposite sides (in particular without play), the engagement of the push button into the fixing opening can lead to a reliable fixing of the lock body even with a small actuation stroke of the push button (spacing between the pressed-in position and the extended position of the push button).

Thus, a button provided at the lock body is used to secure the lock in the holder when not in use. For example, a spring-loaded button may be provided at the lock body to actuate the locking mechanism and/or actuate the closure ring of the lock.

In order to be able to remove the lock body from the holder again opposite the introduction direction, the push button of the lock body only has to be pressed briefly and therefore has to be disengaged from the fastening opening of the holder.

The holder can thus be inserted with a simple operation into the holder, to fix it securely in the holder, and to be able to be released again from the holder with a simple operation.

The invention also relates to the use of a holder of the kind explained for securely holding a portable lock having a lock body with a locking mechanism and a spring-loaded button.

In the following different embodiments of the invention will be explained.

The fixing opening of the holder for the push button of the lock body can be closed circumferentially. The fixing opening may be configured in particular to engage around the push button in a form-fitting manner. However, this is not absolutely necessary. It is important first of all that the boundary of the fixed opening forms an abutment which prevents movement of the extension button relative to the introduction direction. The boundary of the fixing opening arranged opposite to the introduction direction may in particular form an offset edge to prevent the extension button from moving relative to the introduction direction.

In some embodiments, the holder can be circumferentially opened, wherein the holder engages around the lock body, in particular at three sides (in a plane normal to the introduction direction). For example, the cross-section of the holder may be U-shaped or C-shaped.

In other embodiments, the retainer may be engaged around the lock body in a circumferentially closed manner. For example, the cross-section of the holder may be rectangular, oval or O-shaped.

In some embodiments, the holder may have a further fixing opening at the second holding portion, wherein the two holding portions and the two fixing openings are provided in a rotationally symmetrical 180-degree arrangement to be able to selectively receive and fix the lock body in one of two possible orientations. A particularly simple operation is thus possible, since the user can insert the lock body into the holder in one of two possible orientations (with respect to a rotation about an axis corresponding to the introduction direction) without having to pay attention to the position of the push button.

In some embodiments, the holder may have a lead-in ramp at its end facing the lead-in direction, which lead-in ramp forms a widening of the cross section of the holder in order to facilitate the introduction of the lock body into the holder and/or to urge the push button back when the lock body is introduced into the holder. The lead-in ramp can be arranged in particular in at least one angular region, which corresponds to the position of the push button at the lock body. Such a lead-in ramp can be used to temporarily force the spring-loaded push button against its spring preload during insertion of the lock body into the receiving space of the holder, so that no additional manual actuation of the push button is required, and the push button can automatically snap into the fixing opening upon reaching the fixing opening due to its spring preload.

In some embodiments, the holder can be opened in and opposite to the introduction direction, wherein the first and second holding portions define a substantially constant cross section of the receiving space for the lock body, so that the lock body is secured in and opposite to the introduction direction without being unintentionally released from the holder only by engaging a push button of the lock body into the securing opening.

In other embodiments, the retainer may be formed to conically contract along the introduction direction to limit the introduction depth of the lock body into the retainer. Alternatively or additionally, the holder may have a support portion (e.g. a closed base or a partially open base) arranged in the introduction direction to support the lock body inserted into the holder with respect to the introduction direction.

In some embodiments, the holder can have a fastening portion which comprises a fastening channel which extends transversely to the introduction direction and through which a fastening strap for fastening the holder to an object, in particular to a pipe portion of a two-wheeled vehicle, can be guided. The fastening portion may in particular be arranged outside the receiving space for the lock body. Alternatively or additionally, the holder may have two fastening openings through which a respective fastening screw for fastening the holder to an object, in particular to a pipe portion of a two-wheeled vehicle, can be guided. The fastening openings may in particular correspond to the typical spacing of threaded holes for bottle holders of a two-wheeled vehicle frame. The holder can thus be fastened in a simple manner to an object, in particular to a pipe section of a two-wheeled vehicle.

The invention also relates to a lock system comprising: a holder of the kind described; and a lock having a lock body with a locking mechanism and a spring-loaded button.

The spring loaded button may protrude above the lock body in a rest position or extended state. Thus, a reliable engagement into the fixing opening of the holder is possible.

In some embodiments, the button may be preloaded opposite the actuation direction. In this regard, the button may protrude over a side surface of the lock body along the actuation direction and/or the button may define a maximum width of the lock body along the actuation direction. The actuation direction may extend transversely, in particular perpendicularly, to the introduction direction.

As a result of the insertion of the lock into the receiving space of the holder, the spring-loaded button can in particular automatically snap into the fixing opening of the holder upon reaching the latter.

In some embodiments, the locking mechanism may comprise a combination locking mechanism, wherein the button may only be actuated to disengage the button from the fixed opening of the holder when the combination is set at the combination locking mechanism. Thus, the lock may be secured indirectly (via a button) to prevent unauthorized removal from the holder. The combination locking mechanism may have a plurality of code setting rings rotatable about an axis of rotation.

In some embodiments, the lock may have a flexible or rigid closure ring including at least one free end that is lockable to the lock body to form a closed loop. For example, the closed loop may comprise a steel cable, a rigid loop (particularly a U-shape), an engagement rod loop or a chain. The closed loop may have a variable length or a fixed length.

For example, a spring-loaded button of the lock body may be used to move the locking mechanism to a release position or a locking position, or to release, block or relatively control a closure ring for movement relative to the lock body. The spring-loaded button of the lock body may also be used to control a locking mechanism or for another function in an electronic portable lock, such as a portable two-wheeled vehicle lock with an electric motor for an electromechanical locking mechanism.

Drawings

The invention will be explained below, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Figures 1 to 4 show a perspective view from the upper left, a perspective view from the lower right, a side view from the right and a plan view of the holder;

figures 5 and 6 show a portable lock that can be held and transported by means of a holder according to figures 1 to 4; and

figures 7 and 8 show another portable lock.

Detailed Description

Fig. 1 to 4 show a holder 11 for temporarily holding a lock 31, the lock 31 being, for example, of the type shown in fig. 5 and 6, which can be inserted into the holder 11 in an introduction direction E. Such a lock 31 has a lock body 33, the lock body 33 having a locking mechanism 35 and a spring loaded button 37. Due to its preload, the push button 37 projects in the rest position over a side surface of the lock body 33 and can be pressed against the preload in the direction of the lock body 33 along an actuation direction B, which extends transversely to the introduction direction E. Furthermore, such a lock 31 may have a closure ring 39, which closure ring 39 may be locked to the lock body 33 by means of the locking mechanism 35 in the closed position and may be moved in the release position of the locking mechanism 35 to an open position, in which at least one end of the closure ring 39 may be released from the lock body 33.

In the embodiment according to fig. 5 and 6, the closing ring 39 is constructed as a wire cable which can be pulled out of the lock body 33 against the spring force and which has at its free end a bolt 41 which can be locked to the lock body 33, as is known, for example, from US D862198S or US 4896517. The locking mechanism 35 has a combination locking mechanism 43, the combination locking mechanism 43 having a plurality of rotatable combination setting rings 45. Here, the spring-loaded push button 37 serves to pull the closure ring 39 back into the lock body 33 by means of a spring force. Another spring loaded button 47 of the lock body 33 is used to move the locking mechanism 35 to the release position. The two buttons 37, 47 may be activated only when the combination is set at the combination setting ring 45.

The holder 11 is generally sleeve-shaped, has a circumferentially closed, substantially rectangular cross-section (with rounded corners), and has an open end in the introduction direction E and opposite thereto. The holder 11 has a first holding section 13 and a second holding section 15, which second holding section 15 is arranged diametrically opposite the first holding section 13 with respect to the receiving space 17 for the lock body 33. The first holding part 13 and the second holding part 15 are configured to engage substantially without play around the lock body 33 at two mutually opposite sides of the lock body 33 with respect to the actuation direction B, the lock body 33 being inserted into the receiving space 17 along the introduction direction E. In the two holding parts 13, 15, the holder 11 has respective fixing openings 19, 21, which fixing openings 19, 21 are formed to bring a spring-loaded push button 37 of the lock body 33 into form-fitting engagement in their rest position, the locking push button 37 projecting from the lock body 33 in order thereby to fix the lock body 33 against unintentional release from the holder 11 opposite the introduction direction E.

At its end disposed opposite the introduction direction E, the holder 11 has in each case two introduction ramps 23 in the angular region corresponding to the fixing openings 19, 21 (relative to the introduction direction E). On its rear side, the holder 11 has a fastening portion 25, which fastening portion 25 has a fastening channel 27, which fastening channel 27 extends transversely to the introduction direction E, and through which fastening channel 27 a fastening strap (not shown) for fastening the holder 11 to a tube portion of the two-wheeled vehicle can be guided.

Thus, the spring loaded button 37 of the lock body 33 is used to secure the lock 31 in the keeper 11 when not in use. Alternatively, the button 47 may also be used for this purpose (with corresponding positions and shapes of the fixing openings 19, 21). In order to be able to remove the lock 33 from the holder 11 again opposite the introduction direction E, the push button 37 or 47 of the lock 33 merely has to be simply pressed and thus disengaged from the fastening opening 19, 21 of the holder 11.

Fig. 7 and 8 show another portable lock 31, the portable lock 31 having a lock body 33, the lock body 33 having a locking mechanism 35 and a spring-loaded button 37 for actuating the locking mechanism 35, as is known for example from US D657657S or EP 2019178B 1. Such a lock 31 is also called a fold lock or a connecting rod lock and has a flexible closing ring in the form of a connecting rod ring. A similar holder 11 (with adapted cross-sectional shape) as shown in fig. 1 to 4 may accommodate the lock according to fig. 7 and 8, wherein the push button 37 is used to fix the lock 31 in the holder 11 by engaging into one of the fixing openings 19, 21.
