(The invention relates to a piping bag. More precisely, the invention relates to a piping bag for applying food to a substrate, wherein the piping bag is disposable. The invention further relates to a co-extruded tubular foil from which such a piping bag can be obtained, and to a method of providing pictures and/or text on such a piping bag. According to the invention, the outer and inner layers of the tubular foil are transparent and the intermediate layer of the tubular foil is partially transparent by a distribution of a pigment additive in the intermediate layer, the distribution of the pigment additive being non-uniform at least in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction.)

1. A co-extruded multilayer tubular foil (20) comprising an arrangement of identical foil blocks (26_1, 26_2) repeated in an axial direction of the tubular foil, each foil block comprising a weld seam (24) connecting two opposite sides of the tubular foil, thereby at least partially defining a first and a second piping bag;

the tubular foil comprises an outer layer (21), an inner layer (23) and an intermediate layer (22) arranged between the outer and inner layers;

wherein the outer layer and the inner layer are transparent and the intermediate layer is partially transparent by a distribution of pigment additives in the intermediate layer, the distribution of pigment additives being non-uniform at least in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction;

wherein each foil block further comprises a transverse perforation line (25) arranged perpendicular to the axial direction, and wherein the welding seam extends diagonally across the foil block and defines, together with the edge of the tubular foil, a tip region of each of the first and second decorating bags;

wherein the intermediate layer comprises a first region (27) and a second region (28), wherein the first and second regions are interconnected and adjacently arranged in a direction parallel to the surface of the tubular foil;

wherein the second region (28) of the intermediate layer is transparent and wherein the first region (27) of the intermediate layer comprises at least a portion of the pigment additive to provide a colorstripe extending in the axial direction, the colorstripe at least partially coloring the tip region of the first or second piping bag;

the intermediate layer further comprises a further first area (27') and a further second area (28'), the further first area (27') having one or more pigment additives to provide a further colour bar extending in the axial direction, the further colour bar at least partially colouring the tip area of the other of the first or second piping bag, wherein the further second area (28') of the intermediate layer is transparent;

wherein the first region and the further first region are each arranged between the second region and the further second region; and is

Wherein the second region and the further second region are aligned with each other to form a transparent window to provide a field of view through the tubular foil.

2. The tubular foil of claim 1, wherein the intermediate layer is made of a substantially transparent polymer material, wherein the second region and the further second region are generally free of any pigment additive.

3. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein:

the inner layer comprises a polyolefin, such as Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE);

said outer layer comprising a rubber-containing composition incorporating a thermoplastic elastomer, said rubber-containing composition being positioned to improve the user's grip on a piping bag obtained from said tubular foil during the application of food to a substrate; and is

The first, second and/or third regions comprise a polyolefin, such as Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE).

4. The tubular foil of claim 3, wherein the inner and outer layers each have a thickness in the range of 20 to 50 microns, and wherein the intermediate layer has a thickness in the range of 10 to 30 microns.

5. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first region, the further first region, the second region and/or the further second region comprise pigment particles for laser marking, such as mica particles, preferably mica flakes covered by TiO2, SnO2 or SbO 2.

6. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the thickness of the first, the further first, the second and a further third region is the same.

7. Tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the cross-section of the intermediate layer is constant in the axial direction, except for the plurality of weld seams and perforation lines.

8. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the weld seam extends between opposite edges of the tubular foil.

9. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pigment additive in the intermediate layer is a dye, preferably a dye selected from the group consisting of natural dyes.

10. The tubular foil according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pigment additive in the intermediate layer is a pigment, preferably a pigment selected from the group consisting of natural pigments.

11. Piping bag obtained by separating a tubular foil as defined in any one of the preceding claims along said welding seams and perforation lines.

12. A method for providing a co-extruded multilayer piping bag with pictures and/or text, comprising:

providing a foil as defined in any one of claims 5 to 10, both dependent on claim 5;

providing a focused light source, such as a laser; and is

Patterning the foil using the focused light to form the picture and/or text.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein all of the decorating bags defined on the tubular foil are patterned prior to separating the decorating bags from the remainder of the tubular foil.

14. Method according to claim 12 or 13, wherein a scale (30) is patterned into the foil to allow a user to determine the volume of food present in the piping bag, wherein the scale is provided in the transparent second area or in another second area that is transparent.

15. Piping bag obtained by applying the method according to claim 12, 13 or 14.
