Typical coiling defects in the production of very thin strip steel include buckling, cramping, etc. In the coiling process, if the coiling and cramping problems occur, the strip steel must be discarded, the yield of the strip steel is reduced, and therefore, great economic loss is caused on site. To overcome this drawback, a rubber sleeve is usually added to the reel to eliminate such drawback. However, the rubber sleeve has limited rigidity, and is liable to cause roll defects such as a tower shape and a collapsing roll.
