Technical Field

The invention relates to an exercise machine having a support, a weight carrier, and two grip attachments extending transversely with respect to the support and each having a grip portion.

Background

Exercise machines, in particular barbell bars, are known which have two extensions extending transversely to the support. Wherein the extension is a shoulder support for support (US 4274628A). However, it is disadvantageous here that the barbell bar must be held upright, resulting in an unnatural, pronated hand position and forearm position, in which the wrist is subjected to a great load. There is also an increased risk of falling and injury, since the user may lose balance with a small displacement of the centre of gravity of the apparatus, since an effective balancing movement cannot be achieved due to the predetermined position of the scapula, hand and weight (or barbell) along the same action line.

Also known from the prior art are embodiments in which the extension extending transversely to the support (or so-called cross-bar) is designed as a grip (US 4863158A). However, this also has the disadvantage that a rapid and joint-protecting posture change of the arm cannot be performed. This also leads to an increased risk of injury, since the barbell is arranged on an extension that is elongated in the longitudinal direction of the support and according to the above-described embodiment. Furthermore, the guide elements that are movable on the carrier are subjected to high moment loads as a function of design, wherein the grip portions can be fixed on the carrier at a desired distance from one another by means of the guide elements. There is also a risk of injury to the user here, since the friction fit between the guide element and the bracket may suddenly come loose.

In patent document US2010056347a1 an exercise machine is described having a support, a weight carrier and two grip attachments extending transversely with respect to the support and each having a grip portion. The exercise machine shown there also has forearm support and is specifically designed for abdominal exercises that need to be done supine. Furthermore, patent document US9005087B1 shows an exercise machine for leg exercises with a support and weight carrier supported on the nape and shoulder straps of the user. Wherein the exercise apparatus comprises a handle which, when the apparatus is in use, is arranged at the level of the hip of the user and is preferably gripped by the hand of the user. However, the exercise devices described in patent documents US2010056347a1 and US9005087B1 have the disadvantage that exercises such as shoulder presses, which require the user to move the arms with protected wrists and to hold the exercise device safely in the overhead position, cannot be performed meaningfully or only in the case of high loads on the wrists, depending on the design, so that in such exercise devices there is an increased risk of injury to the user, in particular with regard to overhead exercises or in the case of unintentional falling of the exercise device when performing such overhead exercises. The object of the invention is therefore to design an exercise device of the type mentioned at the outset such that the risk of injury is avoided and the design outlay is not increased.

Disclosure of Invention

The object is achieved according to the invention in that a weight carrier (gewichtsufnahmen) is arranged on the side of the grip attachment opposite the holder, a handle being mounted on each side of the weight carrier facing away from the holder, said handle being rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the grip attachment.

In order to train the apparatus to be well balanced by the user so that the balance is not lost when the displacement of the center of gravity of the apparatus is small, the hand, the weight and the holder are not located as far as possible on the same line of action, i.e. the longitudinal axis of the holder. To this end, the hand and weight are spaced a distance from the user's body in a transverse direction relative to the stand, as the two grip attachments are connected with the stand in the transverse direction. For example, an exercise machine according to the present invention may be designed in a U-shape, wherein the two grip attachments constitute arms of the U-shape that project laterally from a support as base arm. By constructing the weight carrier (or weight rest) on the side of the grip attachment opposite the brace, the center of gravity of the subject invention is displaced in the direction of the hand and lies in the plane between the body and hand of the user in normal use of the exercise machine. This makes it possible to perform the balancing movement effectively and without great effort, so that the risk of injury due to loss of balance is avoided when the center of gravity displacement is small. To avoid lateral forces that could damage the wrist when the center of gravity shifts significantly, the hand, wrist and forearm need to be able to be positioned along the same load path quickly and at any time. Furthermore, the respective center of gravity of the weight should coincide spatially with the arrangement of the grip portion or at least be in close proximity to the grip portion. According to the invention, it is therefore provided that the handle is mounted rotatably on the weight carrier, i.e. can be rotated about the grip. Thus, the forces can be optimally taken up by the user, even or exactly when the hands are at different heights relative to each other. Furthermore, the design according to the invention not only makes it possible for the exercise machine to be lifted from the shoulder blade and held in the over-head position if necessary, but also for the user to tilt the grip attachment and thus the weight lever upwards, wherein the bracket supported on the shoulder blade serves as a rotational axis. The press shoulder implemented with the subject matter of the invention can thus also have, for example, an additional strength class without having to replace the weight. Furthermore, it is thus also relatively simple to adjust the strength of the muscle contractions of the chest, shoulder and arm musculature almost steplessly, for example in leg exercises, or to perform a series of various forms of exercises such as combined arm/leg exercises or arm/abdominal exercises entirely in general. By arranging the weight at a distance from the bracket, wherein two grip attachments connect the weight with the bracket, there is also the advantage that occasional more severe injuries can be avoided when the exercise machine is unintentionally dropped, since by the structural design according to the invention a larger distance, i.e. a distance corresponding to the length of the grip attachment, remains between the weight supported on the base and the bracket. The length is therefore preferably chosen such that it is at least equal to the height of the thorax of the lying user, so that crushing injuries can be prevented as described above. In contrast, in a typical barbell bar, this distance is equal to the radius of the weight used.

In order to reduce the risk of further injuries to persons standing beside and to avoid possible damage to the floor, the standing surface or the wall caused by the subject matter of the invention, the transition region between the bracket and the grip attachment is respectively designed to be circular and thus without sharp corners.

In order to be able to achieve a good transmission of force between the weight carrier or the weight and the handle and thus on the one hand to be able to hold the training apparatus for a long time and on the other hand to be able to easily replace the wear part, it is proposed according to the invention that the grip attachment part, the weight carrier and the grip portion are integrally formed and the handle is respectively detachably fastened to the grip portion. The handle thus holds the weight plate well fixed on the weight carrier provided according to the invention, in order to avoid slipping of the plate and thus displacement of the center of gravity. The handle can be quickly removed when needed to reduce or increase the weight plate. In addition, the detachable handle has the further advantage that the handle itself can also be replaced, so that the exercise device can be adapted to the respective exercise purpose by means of different handle forms.

As mentioned above, if it is intended to avoid damaging lateral forces acting on the wrist even in the case of large displacements of the center of gravity, the center of gravity of the weight should coincide spatially with the arrangement of the respective grip portion or at least be in close proximity thereto. This can be achieved in that the grip portion has a detachable closure on its side facing away from the support, since a separate fastening of the weight and/or the handle can be dispensed with in this way and the weight and the handle can therefore be arranged in close spatial proximity to one another. In a preferred embodiment, the center of gravity of the weight is even located within the respective palm if the weight can also be inserted into the grip attachment. This can be implemented as an alternative or in addition to a weight mounted externally on the weight carrier, wherein it is also conceivable in principle according to the invention for the weight carrier to be designed for a weight which can be inserted into the interior via the grip portion.

The exercise apparatus should be able to be optimally adjusted, depending on the shoulder width of the user, respectively, without having to use guide elements of the grip part that can be moved on the support, so that the risk of injury is avoided. It is also desirable to be able to carry out the dimensioning in a simple manner and without a considerable amount of time, wherein this dimensioning should not result in additional structural expenditure. The frame of the exercise apparatus according to the invention may thus have two telescopic elements which can be pushed into each other and which can be fixed in a predetermined position relative to each other. Based on this measure, the exercise machine can be adapted very simply to the shoulder width of the user, but also to exercise purposes, in that the length of the brackets and thus the spacing of the grip attachment elements relative to each other can be varied. Furthermore, there is no risk of injury due to sudden detachment of the guide element.

Drawings

In the drawings, there is shown a top view of an embodiment of an exercise apparatus according to the present invention.

Detailed Description

The exercise machine according to the invention has a support 1, a weight carrier 2 and two grip attachment parts 3 extending transversely to the support 1, which grip attachment parts 3 in turn each have a grip portion 4. The weight carriers 2 are arranged on the opposite side of the grip attachment part 3 from the holder 1, wherein a handle 8 is mounted on each side of the weight carriers 2 facing away from the holder 1, the handle 8 being rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the grip attachment part 3. In normal use of the exercise machine according to the invention, the handle 8 is held by the user's hand and the stand 1 is supported on the user's nape and shoulder girdle such that the grip attachment 3 and grip portion 4 point in the direction of the user's line of sight. Thus, the grip portion 4 and the handle 8, and thus the user's hand, are further from the body or the support 1 than the weight pellet carrier 2 and its weight plate 5. The support 1 may be surrounded by a cushion 6 in order to protect the cervical vertebrae of the user. The material strength and thickness of the mat 6 may furthermore be chosen such that the mat 6 may also advantageously be used as a distance holder, for example when an exercise device without a weight plate 5 is placed on the ground for a corresponding exercise. Thus, the user can hold the stand 1 with both hands in the area beside the mat 6 for push-up.

The two grip attachments 3 each form a right angle with the holder 1 and the transition areas 7 between the holder 1 and the grip attachments 3 are each rounded, whereby a U-shaped design without sharp corners is obtained for the exercise machine according to the invention. Thus, the exercise apparatus does not cause injury to nearby personnel and does not damage walls and property.

The respective grip attachment member 3, weight carrier 2 and grip portion 4 are integrally formed. In order to be able to replace and fix the weight plates 5 quickly and simply, the handles 8 are each detachably fastened to the grip portion 4. Thus, the handle 8 can be simply replaced when needed.

Furthermore, it is also possible to insert weights onto the grip attachment 3 through a removable lock 9 of the grip portion 4 on the side facing away from the stand 1.

In order to be able to adapt the exercise apparatus according to the invention optimally to the requirements of the user and to the shoulder width, the frame 1 is designed with two telescopic elements 10 that can be pushed into each other, which telescopic elements 10 can be fixed in a predetermined position relative to each other. Thus, the length of the stand 1 and thus the distance of the grip attachment members 3 relative to each other may vary. The telescopic element 10 can be fixed in a predetermined position by a spring catch 11, the spring catch 11 engaging in a recess 12 provided for this purpose in the telescopic element 10.
