This is achieved in document EP2107648B1 by: the shielding layer of the plug connector comprises spring contacts which project from the main extension plane and are provided for electrical contacting with sections of a conductive wall which is electrically conductively connected to a housing of a mating connector which is designed to correspond to the plug connector.

Disclosure of Invention

The purpose of the invention is: an alternative embodiment of such an electrical plug connection system is provided.

This object is achieved by an electrical plug connector having the features of independent claim 1 and by an electrical plug connection system having the features of independent claim 7. Preferred embodiments follow from the dependent claims.

An electrical plug connector is realized. The plug connector is provided for connecting at least one signal cable and/or power cable and/or data cable to an electrical component. Such an electrical component is preferably a mating plug connector which is configured correspondingly to the plug connector and into which the plug connector and the mating connector can be plugged.

Preferably, the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable (in the following understood as a very different embodiment of such a hybrid cable with cables for transmitting different information and/or power) are connected to a plug and/or a socket of the plug connector.

The signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable therefore have at least one or more electrically conductive cores for carrying electrical current, which cores are preferably made of metal, for example copper or a copper alloy. In order to protect the electromagnetic field, the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable also have at least one shield. The shield at least partially surrounds the conductors and/or cores of the signal cable and/or power cable and/or data cable. Preferably, the shield encloses, particularly preferably completely encloses, one or more of the cores. In a preferred embodiment, the shield is formed by a wire mesh. An electrical insulation is preferably provided between the shield and the one or more cores, which is configured to electrically insulate the one or more cores from the shield. The insulation may be made of paper, fabric (Stoff) and/or plastic. Additionally or alternatively, the one or more core wires may be painted. In addition, the cable may have an electrically insulating outer sheath, which surrounds the shield, which acts as a contact protection.

The signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable may have a plurality of shields, each of which surrounds one or more cores, in particular cores of the same function. Such a function is, for example, signal transmission or supply of a supply voltage. In this embodiment, the shielding portions are insulated from each other by an electrically insulating sheath, respectively. These sheaths may also be made of paper or fabric or preferably plastic.

The cable may be configured as a pure signal cable and/or a data cable. In this embodiment, the one or more cores are each designed only for transmitting a signal stream, so that the cross section of the one or more cores is small in each case. Furthermore, the cable may be configured as a pure slave power cable. In this embodiment, the one or more cores are each designed to carry a power current and/or a supply current, so that the cross section of the one or more cores is large. The cable may also be configured as a hybrid cable. In this embodiment, the cable can have not only at least one core designed to carry a signal stream, but also one, preferably at least two, cores designed to carry a power current and/or a supply current.

In the case of a hybrid cable, the one or more cores designed for signal transmission preferably have at least one own shielding. Furthermore, the core designed for power transmission also preferably has at least one own shield.

Hereinafter, the core wire surrounded with the electrically insulating sheath is referred to as a wire.

The plug connector has a base plate on which a plug housing is arranged. The substrate serves as a shield for the plug connector. In a preferred embodiment, the substrate is electrically conductive for this purpose. The base plate can then be produced at low cost from a flat strip, for example from a metal sheet. It is also preferred that the substrate is made of an electrically non-conductive matrix, for example made of plastic, wherein the matrix has an electrically conductive coating, for example made of copper. Furthermore, the base plate can be designed as an electrical connection plate. In one embodiment as an electrical connection board, the substrate has at least one or more electrically conductive layers (coatings), wherein preferably at least one of the layers or at least one conductor plane or the conductor circuit of the at least one layer is used as a shield. Such wiring boards may also have multiple layers disposed between insulating matrix layers. However, in the embodiment as a coated substrate or as a wiring board, the coating serving as the shielding portion or the layer serving as the shielding portion is provided on the outside.

The plug housing is preferably screwed, riveted or welded to the base plate. The core wires of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable are preferably at least partially connected to the plug housing. In addition to the plug housing, further electrical components can also be provided on the substrate.

The plug connector has at least one contact means for electrically connecting the screen of the plug connector to the screen of the signal cable and/or power cable and/or data cable. The invention is characterized in that the contact means are designed as a cable strip, preferably as an electrically conductive cable strip, and the shield of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable is fastened to the base plate by means of the cable strip, so that the shield electrically contacts the shield of the plug connector.

In the following, the concept cable tie and contact means are used synonymously.

Such a cable band is preferably made of an electrically conductive strip, particularly preferably of metal or a metal-coated flat strip. The cable strip is preferably made of copper, copper alloy or a light metal, such as aluminum or spring steel. However, the cable band can also be made of coated plastic or partially or completely of plastic, if this also ensures sufficient compression for achieving sufficient electrical contact. Furthermore, the cable band preferably has a plasticity such that the cable band is deformed from an undeformed basic state into a fixed state when fixing the shielding of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable. In this embodiment, the fastening state is permanently maintained after the fastening of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable to the substrate, so that the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable is also reliably fastened to the substrate under vibration loading in the fastened state of the cable strap.

In a preferred embodiment, the cable tie extends in a longitudinal direction and has two opposite open ends. The cable band may be flat or curved in the basic state or have one or more bends. In the secured state, the open ends may overlap and/or twist around each other.

The cable tape can be manufactured at low cost. Furthermore, by means of the cable strap, the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable can be quickly, easily and permanently fixed to the substrate by a layman. Furthermore, such a cable tape can easily be released from the substrate, for example by bending back or cutting. The cable strip can then be recycled.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the shield of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable completely surrounds the conductors and/or cores of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable. This embodiment of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable provides as good interference protection as possible. In order to make a part of the shield accessible from the outside, it is furthermore preferred that: the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable are insulated. For this purpose, the electrically insulating sheath of the signal cable and/or of the power cable and/or of the data cable, which sheath is sheathed with the signal cable and/or of the power cable and/or of the data cable, is completely removed at a defined distance from the open end of the signal cable and/or of the power cable and/or of the data cable, so that the shield is as far as possible undamaged despite being exposed. In order to electrically connect the screen of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable to the screen of the plug connector, the contact means preferably electrically conductively connect this part of the screen of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable.

For this purpose, the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable are preferably placed on the substrate. Furthermore, at least one through hole is preferably provided on the substrate. The contact means are preferably guided through the through-hole such that the contact means pass through the through-hole.

The cable band can be bent in a sleeve-like or clip-like manner, so that it is supported with one open end on the substrate. The eyelet enclosed by the cable band can be reduced by pressing the sleeve-like or clip-like cable band, wherein the shield of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable is clamped with the other open end to the base plate.

Or the signal and/or power and/or data cables and the through-hole are arranged near the edge of the substrate such that a tab of the substrate remains between the through-hole and the edge, on which tab the signal and/or power and/or data cables are placed. In this embodiment, the cable tape can be guided through the through-opening and additionally wrapped around the edge such that the open ends of the cable tape overlap and press the shield against the substrate when the end portions are pressed together. The ribbon-shaped or wire-like cable strips are preferably twisted, wherein an eyelet surrounded by the cable strips is formed, which eyelet becomes smaller when the open ends of the cable strips are twisted with respect to one another. Here, the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable are pulled onto the substrate.

The cable tie can also have a locking opening with a locking means at one open end, similar to a conventional plastic cable tie, wherein a counter locking means is provided at the opposite end, which counter locking means locks irreversibly with the locking means when passing through the locking opening. In this case, an eyelet surrounded by a cable band is formed. The eyelet enclosed by the cable loop can be reduced by drawing the end guided through the latching opening closer to the end with the latching opening, so that the shielding of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable guided through the eyelet is drawn onto the base plate.

In order to draw the signal cables and/or power cables and/or data cables further towards the center of the substrate towards said substrate, it is furthermore preferred that: two through holes are provided in the substrate. Preferably, a web of the substrate is retained between the through-openings, on which web the signal cables and/or the power cables and/or the data cables are placed. In this embodiment, the cable tape is not arranged around the edge of the substrate, but is guided through two through-holes. The eyelet formed by the cable tie then surrounds or encircles the tab and the shield of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable, so that the cable tie pulls the shield onto the tab of the substrate when the eyelet is reduced.

By clamping, twisting or pulling the cable band, the screen of the signal cable and/or of the power cable and/or of the data cable can be permanently electrically conductively connected to the screen of the plug connector in a rapid and simple manner.

The object is further achieved by a plug connection system comprising a plug connector according to the invention and a mating plug connector configured correspondingly to the plug connector.

The plug connector has a plug housing to which signal cables and/or power cables and/or data cables can be connected at least in part. For this purpose, the plug housing accommodates at least one or preferably a plurality of plugs and/or sockets. One or more cores of a signal cable and/or a power cable and/or a data cable may be connected to the plug and/or the socket, respectively.

The plug and/or socket of the plug connector defines the plug face of the plug connector. The plug and/or receptacle is used to connect the plug connector to a mating plug connector of an electrical component. For this purpose, the mating plug connector preferably has a mating plug surface corresponding to the plug surface of the plug connector, with a mating plug and/or a mating socket configured in each case corresponding to a plug or a socket of the plug connector. Thereby, the plug connector and the mating plug connector can be plugged into one another. The plug connection system can thereby be transferred from an uninstalled state, in which the plug connector and the mating plug connector are not plugged into one another, into an installed state, in which the plug connector is pushed into the mating plug connector by being moved in the plugging direction.

In a preferred embodiment, a wall is provided on the mating plug connector, in which wall a wall cutout is provided. The mating plug connector further preferably has a mating plug housing. In principle, the shape of the wall cutouts can be set arbitrarily. The wall cutouts are preferably rectangular or circular in configuration. Particularly preferably, the wall cutout is configured to correspond to the contour of the mating plug housing of the mating plug connector. Furthermore, the wall preferably extends in a plane transverse to the plug direction.

The mating plug housing serves to receive a plug and/or a socket of a mating plug connector. The plug face of the mating plug connector, which is defined by the plug and/or socket of the mating plug connector, is thereby accessible from the outside through the wall cutout.

In the mounted state, the plug connector is inserted into the mating plug connector through the wall cutout. One or more plugs of the plug connector are then electrically conductively connected to one or more corresponding sockets associated with the one or more plugs of the mating plug connector and/or one or more sockets of the plug connector are electrically conductively connected to one or more corresponding plugs associated with the one or more sockets of the mating socket connector.

The mating plug connector preferably has a screen which is electrically conductively connected to the screen of the plug connector in the mounted state of the plug connector. For this purpose, the plug connection system preferably has a contact element which is provided for electrically connecting the screen of the plug connector to the screen of the mating plug connector. Preferably, the contact element enables the screen of the plug connector to be automatically connected, i.e. electrically connected, to the screen of the mating plug connector during the plugging process, i.e. when the plug connector is transferred from the uninstalled state into the installed state. Thus, no tools are required for this purpose and the plugging process can be carried out simply and quickly by a layman.

In order that the plug connector and the mating plug connector do not come loose from one another under a vibration load, it is furthermore preferred that: the plug connector and the mating plug connector are connected to one another in a force-fitting and/or form-fitting manner in the installed state. The plug connector and the mating plug connector are preferably releasably connected to one another, in particular latched to one another. However, the plug connector and the mating plug connector can also be releasably connected to one another in the mounted state.

Preference is given here to: the plug housing has an actuating means which serves as an auxiliary means for releasing the latching of the plug connector with the mating plug connector in the installed state of the plug connection system. For this purpose, the actuating means is preferably designed as a push element and is arranged rotatably about an axis. For this purpose, the actuating means preferably also have actuating surfaces. When the actuating surface is pressed, the actuating means is reversibly rotated about the axis in the rotational direction, wherein the locking means is reversibly adjusted from the locked state into the unlocked state. A preferred embodiment is also preferred, wherein an actuating means is additionally or alternatively provided for latching the plug connector with the mating plug connector.

The mating plug connector preferably includes a backplane. The base plate is preferably designed as an electrical connector and has at least one electrically conductive layer arranged on an electrically non-conductive substrate. The printed circuit board can also have a plurality of layers, which are each insulated from one another by a non-conductive substrate. Other electrical components may be provided on the terminal block. These electrical components can be electrically connected to each other and/or to the mating plug connector according to the specifications of the circuit diagram.

The mating plug housing is preferably arranged on the base plate. The mating plug housing is preferably fastened to the housing side of the base plate within the mating plug connector. The mating plug housing will preferably be screwed, riveted and/or welded to the base plate.

Preferably, the base plate, in particular at least one layer or a part of a layer of the base plate, and/or the wall serves as a screen for the mating plug connector. The wall serving as a shield is touch-protective for the operator.

The plug connection system according to the invention can be installed quickly and easily, in particular without tools, by a layman.

Detailed Description

Fig. 1 shows a plug connector 1 according to the invention. The plug connector 1 has a substrate 13 serving as a shield of the plug connector 1. The substrate 13 is made of a metal sheet 13 and is electrically conductive. Furthermore, the plug connector 1 has a plug housing 10 arranged on a substrate 13. The plug housing 10 is screwed to the base plate 13 by means of screws 15. However, the plug housing may also be snapped, glued or otherwise secured to the base plate 13.

The plug housing 10 comprises a first housing part 11 in which a plurality of signal line plugs 11 are arranged, to which signal lines 411 can be electrically connected. Furthermore, the plug housing 10 has a second housing part 12, in which a power line plug 121 for electrically connecting a power line 42, in particular a power supply line, is arranged. The signal line plugs 111 and the power line plugs 121 are arranged in a row in the extending direction. In the second housing part 12, a handling device 16 is also provided between the power line plugs 121.

In the installed state M of the plug connection system 100, in which the plug connector is inserted into the mating plug connector 2 (see fig. 2), the actuating device 16 is provided for releasing the plug connector 1 from the mating plug connector 2. For this purpose, the actuating means is configured as a press piece, has an actuating surface 161 and can be rotated about an axis (not shown) in a direction of rotation 61. When this actuating surface 161 is pressed, the actuating means 16 is rotated about the axis in the direction of rotation 61, wherein the plug connector 1 is released from the mating plug connector 2.

The signal lines 411 and the power lines 421 of the signal cables and/or power cables and/or data cables 4, which are configured as hybrid cables, are connected to the plugs 111, 121 of the plug housing 10. In the following, the concept hybrid cable and signal cable and/or power cable and/or data cable 4 are used synonymously. For this purpose, the signal line 411 and the power line 421 are respectively introduced into the plugs 111, 121 through the introduction openings 110, 120 into the first housing part 11 and the second housing part 12. The hybrid cable 4 has two signal cables 41 each including a plurality of the signal lines 411 and one power cable 42 here including three power lines 421. The signal cable 41 has a shield 43 that completely encases its signal wires 411. As touch protection, the shield 43 is completely surrounded on the outside by an electrically insulating sheath (not labeled). In a similar manner, the power cable 42 has a shield 43 that completely envelops the power line 421 and is likewise completely surrounded by an electrically insulating sheath (not labeled). Furthermore, the signal cable 41 and the power cable 42 are combined into the hybrid cable 4 by an outer sheath (not labeled) which is preferably electrically insulating.

The shielding portions 43 of the signal cable 41 and the power cable 42 protect the signal line 411 and the power line 421 from emitting and/or receiving electromagnetic interference signals.

The signal cable 41 and the power cable 42 are stripped such that the shield 43 is exposed near or on the connection end a of the cables 41, 42, respectively, at which the conductors 411, 421 of said cables are inserted into the plugs 111, 121 of the plug housing 10. For this purpose, the outer sheath is removed in the first region B1 at the connection end a, so that the signal cable 41 and the power cable 42 are led out of the outer sheath. Further, the sheaths of the signal cable and/or the data cable 41 and the power cable 42 are removed in the second region B2 shorter than the first region B1, respectively. Further, the shield portion 43 is removed toward the open ends of the cables 41, 42 in the third region B3 shorter than the second region B2, so that the signal line 411 and the power line 421 are led out from the shield portion 43. The signal line 411 and the power line 421 are introduced into the signal plug 111 and the power plug 121 through the introduction openings 110, 120, respectively, and are electrically connected thereto. Here, the regions B1 to B3 are exemplarily shown for one of the two signal cables 41.

Since the third regions B3, in which the wires 411, 421 are led out of the shield 43, are respectively configured to be shorter than the second regions B2, a part of the shield 43 is exposed and accessible from the outside.

The signal and/or power and/or data cable 4 and its signal and power cables 41 and 42 rest at least partially on the substrate 13. Two through holes 131 are provided in the substrate 13 at the height of the shield portion 43, respectively. Through holes 131 are provided on opposite sides (not labeled) of the shield portion 43, respectively, so that tabs 132 of the substrate 13 (see fig. 2) remain therebetween. In order to connect the screen 43 of the signal and/or power and/or data cable 4 to the substrate 13 serving as the screen of the plug connector 1 in an electrically conductive manner, and in particular continuously as a result, the cable strips 5 are in each case guided as contact means through the through-openings 131 and around the screen 43 of the signal and/or power and/or data cable 4. The cable strip 5 is made of an electrically conductive flat strip. The cable band is in this case also in an undeformed basic state G, in which it has not yet electrically conductively connected the shield 43 to the substrate 13.

The cable strips 5 are sleeve-shaped here and can be transferred into the deformed state K by pressing, so that they respectively pull the shielding 43 they enclose onto the substrate 13. In the deformed state K, the shielding 43 of the signal cable and/or the power cable and/or the data cable 4 is conductively connected to the substrate 13. Therefore, the deformation state K is also referred to herein as the on-state K.

Fig. 2 and 3 show a plug connection system 100 with the plug connector 1 of fig. 1 and a mating plug connector 2. The cable strips 5 of the plug connector 1 are each shown in a deformed state K of the electrically conductive contact substrate. Fig. 2 shows an uninstalled state U of the plug connection system, in which the plug connector 1 has not yet been inserted into the mating plug connector 2, and fig. 3 shows an installed state M, in which the plug connector 1 is inserted into the mating plug connector 2.

The mating plug connector 2 has a mating plug housing 20 which, like the plug housing 10 of the plug connector 1, comprises a first housing part 21 with signal line sockets 211 and a second housing part 22 with power line sockets 221. The housing portions 21, 22 are provided for accommodating a signal line plug 111 and a power line plug 121 of the plug connector 1 corresponding to the housing portions, respectively.

The mating plug housing 20 of the mating plug connector 2 is arranged in an interior space (not labeled) on a housing side (not labeled) of the base plate 24, which base plate 24 can be configured as an electrical connection board. The housing 20 and the base plate 24 are fixed to a wall 25, which wall 25 extends in a plane (not marked) represented by an extension direction 31 and a transverse direction 32 extending transversely to the extension direction 30. A wall cutout 23 is provided in the wall 25, through which wall cutout 23 the mating plug connector 2 is accessible from the outside. The plug connector 1 can be inserted into the mating plug connector 2 through the wall cutout 23 in a plug direction 30 transverse to the wall 25. When the plug connector 1 is inserted into the mating plug connector 2, the plug connection system 100 transitions from the uninstalled state U into the installed state M.

The mating plug connector 2 likewise has shielding which prevents electromagnetic interference signals from being transmitted and/or received. For this purpose, when the plug connector 1 is plugged into the mating plug connector 2, the screen of the plug housing 1 is electrically conductively connected to the screen of the mating plug housing 2. Thus, the shielding of the signal cable and/or power cable and/or data cable 4, the shielding of the connector 1 and the shielding of the mating connector 2 are continuously conductively connected to one another in the mounted state M. As a result, the plug connection system 100 has little susceptibility to interference.

The base plate 24 serves here as a shield for the mating plug connector 2. However, it is also preferred to use the wall 25 as a shield for the mating plug connector 2.

In order to connect the screen of the plug connector 1 and the screen of the mating plug connector 2 to one another, these screens each have a connecting means (not shown) or a connecting mating means (not shown) which are electrically conductively connected in the mounted state M.

Unintentional release of the plug connector 1 from the mating plug connector 2 is preferably prevented by latching the plug connector 1 to the mating plug connector 2. For this purpose, the actuating means 16 is also designed here as a locking means.
