Technical Field

The invention relates to a hand-held device for electrically assisted skin treatment, comprising:

a skin electrode which can be placed on the skin area to be treated,

a hand electrode at an outer side of the device, the hand electrode being in contact with the hand when the device is held in the hand of a user in use,

an electrical energy source in the device, the poles of which are in electrical connection with the electrodes when the device is in operation.

Background

Such devices are described, for example, in document WO 2005/087308 a1 or in document WO 00/30711. While in the older application document WO 00/30711 a1 the skin electrode is also embodied uniformly with the base (Basis), it is proposed according to document WO 2005/087308 a1 to construct the skin electrode in the form of a replaceable cap (kappa), wherein differently shaped caps are provided for the treatment of specific skin regions. The devices according to these two documents are configured to improve the effect of the active substance in the skin cream by conducting the current into the body via the skin electrodes in negative or positive polarity. The active substance may be a cosmetically but also medically effective substance, for example for use in wound healing therapy (Wundheilbehandlung). The active substance of the cream is guided into the skin by one polarity, while in the case of the other polarity dirt is removed from the skin into the cleansing cream. In both cases, the respective pastes must first be applied before the device is used.

The content of these two documents is also the content of the present application as far as it relates to the mechanical and electrical structure of the device.

Here, correct dispensing is problematic. In the case of too little dispensing, too little active substance is introduced into the skin or dirt is removed, too high dispensing cannot be fully utilized, so that the cream must be removed again after the skin treatment, in part, without being utilized. Furthermore, after the paste is applied to the skin, the hands must first be cleaned in order to be able to hold the skin treatment device reliably.

In DE 1805711U 1 and in DE 9017597U 1 it has been proposed to place a sponge impregnated with an active substance in front of the electrodes. For this purpose, an inwardly bent rim (Kragen) extends around the plate-shaped electrode, which contains a sponge impregnated with the active substance. However, there is also the problem here that the sponge must first be impregnated and then be placed on the electrode, wherein the hands are wetted with the active substance, which must first be rinsed, in order then to be able to hold the device securely.

Disclosure of Invention

The invention is therefore based on the object of simplifying the application of the paste.

In this case, the invention provides that an absorbent carrier material (material) impregnated with the active substance is present in front of the skin electrode, which carrier material is fixed to a ring that can be inserted onto the device, wherein the carrier material extends onto the skin electrode with the ring inserted.

The ring with the carrier material impregnated with the active substance, which is impregnated with the precisely dosed amount of active substance, is provided in a suitable manner for the user. In the case of hands which are not moistened with the paste or the active substance contained therein, the user can grasp the ring and insert it onto the device. The paste with the active substance thus reaches the front of the head of the cap, so that the skin treatment can then be started directly.

One embodiment of the carrier material is provided that it consists of a strip (Streifen) having two ends and an intermediate section lying between them, the ends of which are fixed to the loop and the intermediate section of which extends with the loop inserted onto the skin electrode.

Preferably, the ring is adapted to the contour of the device such that the inserted ring surrounds the device as free as possible. Furthermore, the head of the device is tapered upward, so that the ring can be placed on the device via the head until the ring reaches a region of the device which corresponds in its outer contour to the inner contour of the ring.

A pulling force on the carrier material is generated when the device is moved onto the skin, so that the loop needs to be secured against pulling down (Abziehen). The invention therefore provides in addition that the ring has at least one inwardly directed latching nose (Rastnase) followed by (hingreifen) a holding edge (gatekante) at the device.

In one embodiment, wherein:

the skin electrode has the form of a cap connected to the base, wherein the cap has a foot region close to the base and a head region that can be placed onto the skin to be treated.

A hand electrode is configured at an outer side of the base, the hand electrode being in contact with the hand when the device is held in the hand by a user in use, and

a source of electrical energy is disposed in the base,

the present invention is configured such that,

the carrier material extends with the ring inserted onto the head of the cap.

The ring surrounds the foot region of the cap with as precise a fit as possible, so that the lower edge of the cap forms a retaining edge for one or more inwardly directed latching noses at the ring.

In one embodiment, in which the cap is inserted onto a base (socket) at the base, a gap is present between the lower edge of the cap and the step at the base, into which gap the latching nose engages.

Since the slot should not be very deep and wide, the detent lugs should not point far beyond the inner side of the ring. In order to nevertheless provide good flexibility to the detent lugs, it is provided that the ring has a transverse groove (Quernut) on the inside, at the bottom of which the detent lugs are molded.

Preferably, at least two snap noses are provided, which are oppositely disposed at the ring.

The carrier material preferably has the shape of a strip and the skin electrode has an elongated head with a semi-cylindrical upper closure (abshluss) onto which the strip extends.

For this purpose, the ring is embodied in the shape of an ellipse with two longitudinal sections, which are connected to one another via an arc (Bogen), wherein the strip is fixed at the longitudinal sections. These two arcs serve as handles with which the loop can be grasped without the fingers touching the carrier material.

The carrier material can be composed of the most different materials. Absorbent fabrics, sponges or felts are conceivable.

The invention has the further advantage that the ring can be formed as a spare part (zussatzoil), which can also already be used in devices existing on the market.

Accordingly, the spare part consists of a ring, which can be inserted onto the skin treatment device and to which an absorbent carrier material impregnated with the active substance is fixed. As already explained, the ring has an oval shape with two longitudinal sections which are connected to one another via an arc, wherein the carrier material is formed by strips which extend from one longitudinal section to the other. The ring has at least one latching nose at the inner side of the longitudinal section, which protrudes beyond the inner side of the ring. In order to ensure sufficient flexibility (Biegbarkeit), it is provided that the latching lugs are arranged in transverse grooves on the ring.

In order to prevent the active substance from evaporating or oxidizing before its use, the spare part is stored in a hermetically closed package in a vacuum-tight manner, which is opened only when required. Such packaging enables the application of a paste with active substances, but without preservatives.

One form of packaging is the so-called Blister (Blister). The spare parts are provided for use in blisters consisting of a shell with a film cover (Folienabdeckung). In the housing, a circumferential recess is provided for receiving the ring, wherein the ring is inserted into the recess in such a way that the strip is directed toward the housing bottom and its central section extends through the ring in an arc.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples. To this end:

fig. 1 shows a typical skin treatment device, in which the invention is applied,

figure 2 shows a perspective view of a ring with carrier material fixed thereto,

figure 3 shows a blister with an inserted ring,

fig. 4 shows a cross section through a ring, in which the carrier material fixed at the ring is folded for insertion into a blister,

FIG. 5 shows a ring inserted onto the device and

fig. 6 shows a partial cross section through a device with a ring inserted, the detent lugs at the ring engaging in the slots at the device.

Detailed Description

Reference is first made to fig. 1.

Fig. 1 shows a typical skin treatment device 1 with a base 2 which can be held in the hand, wherein the base 2 has a base 3 at its upper end (shown in dotted lines, because it is hidden), in which a skin electrode 4 in the form of a cap 5 can be inserted and fixed by means of a tab (L asche) which is not shown here, but the invention can be used not only on skin treatment devices with a replaceable cap 5, but also in devices in which the cap is embodied in one piece and uniformly with the base 2.

At the back side of the base part 2, which is not visible here, there is a hand electrode 7, which is in contact with the hand when holding the base part 2. In the base part 2 there is additionally a power source in the form of, for example, a battery or a rechargeable battery, the poles of which can be brought into contact with the two electrodes 4, 7, so that when the skin electrode 4 is placed on the skin a closed current circuit is created via the body of the person. The cap 5 has an elongate shape which tapers from the foot region to the head, wherein the head typically merges into a semi-cylindrical edge which can be guided onto the skin.

However, it is also conceivable for the edge or cap to bulge slightly in the shape of a comb (ausbelung), wherein, however, the ends of the teeth are likewise enclosed by half-cylinders.

In order to provide a paste with an active substance, a ring 10 according to fig. 2 is provided. The ring has an oval shape with two longitudinal sections 11, which are connected to one another via arcs 12, wherein strips 13 extend from the outside of one longitudinal section 11 to the outside of the other longitudinal section 11, which serve as carrier material for the paste.

The inner contour of the ring 10 is adapted to the foot region of the cap 5, so that the ring 10 can be placed in a precisely fitting manner there, wherein the strip 13 extends onto the head of the cap 5. The carrier material may be a strip 13 of sponge, fabric or felt.

In order to fix the ring 10, a small latching nose 14 is provided in each case in the middle of the longitudinal section 11 on the inside thereof, which ends in a sharp edge and which thus (as shown in fig. 6) engages in a gap 15 between the base 2 and the edge of the cap 5.

However, the latching lugs can also be connected downstream of the device to a retaining edge at a specially designed pocket.

However, in order to ensure sufficient mobility of the detent lugs 14, they are each inserted into the inner side of the longitudinal section 11 of the ring 10 at the base of the transverse groove 16, the tip of which projects slightly beyond the edge of the groove.

The ring 10 with the impregnated strip 13 forms a spare part which can be purchased separately from the device, packed in a so-called blister 20.

As shown in fig. 3, the blister 20 is formed by a shell 21 with a circumferential recess 22, into which the ring 10 is inserted, wherein, according to fig. 4 (which shows a cross section through the ring 10), the strips 13, starting from the longitudinal section 11 of the ring 10, first point downward in the direction of the bottom of the annular recess 22 and then extend in an arc through the inner region of the ring 10. In this way a compact consolidation (zusmammenlegung) is obtained, which keeps the blister volume small.

The shell 21 is typically closed by an opaque or transparent film, which is not shown here.

The ring 10 is impregnated with a paste containing the active substance before it is inserted into the blister. The shell 21 is sealed by a membrane to prevent the carrier material from drying out.

To remove the film in use, the ring 10 is gripped at its arc 12 and (as shown in fig. 5) inserted onto the cap 5 until the snap-lock nose 14 is clamped into the gap 15 between the cap 5 and the base 2 according to fig. 6. This provides sufficient retention of the loop 10 on the device whereby the head of the cap (onto which the strap is tensioned) can be guided onto the skin without the loop 10 being released from the device.

After treatment, the ring 10 can be grasped again at the arc 12, pulled off the cap and then cleaned.

The ring 10 can be designed colored in order to mark the type of active substance of the paste in the carrier material.
