Tobacco root black rot is a soil-borne disease caused by rhizobium rhizogenes Thielaviopsis basicola (Berk. and Br.) Ferraris, and the disease occurs in all tobacco regions in China. In recent years, the black rot of tobacco roots tends to be increased due to adjustment of tobacco planting area, change of cultivation system and tobacco variety. The black rot of tobacco roots can occur from the seedling stage to the adult plant stage; mainly occurs on the root system of tobacco plants, which causes black rot symptoms of main roots and lateral roots of tobacco plants in seedling stage and field stage. The disease in the seedling stage can cause tobacco seedling to be 'damping off', but the root part is blackened, so the disease is different from the damping off. Pathogenic bacteria invade from the rootstock part, and disease spots surround the stem part for a circle, and invade upwards to the leaves and invade downwards to the lateral roots, so that the whole seedling withers, and the residual seedling without death can also see a small amount of new lateral roots growing at the base part of the young stem above the rotten root, but the development is poor. The disease of tobacco plants in the field period is caused, the leaves of the diseased plants turn yellow from bottom to top, the growth is slow, the plants are dwarfed to different degrees, the yellow leaves of the mild plants are easy to flower early, and the yellow leaves of the severe plants are withered and dead; after the diseased plant is pulled up, most or all of the root system can turn black and rot.

Carbendazim, thiophanate methyl, prochloraz, pyraclostrobin, thiram and the like are common medicaments for preventing and treating the tobacco root black rot in the field, but due to long-term use, the drug resistance of germs is increasingly serious, and the prevention effect is reduced. The chemical pesticide is used for preventing and treating the diseases and insect pests of the tobacco for a long time, on one hand, the prevention and treatment cost is high, the planting cost of tobacco growers is increased, and on the other hand, the risks of environmental pollution, tobacco pesticide residue and the like in the tobacco planting ecological area can be caused. Therefore, the research and development of novel chemical pesticides with high efficiency, low toxicity and low residue will be an important direction for the development of future pesticides.

In addition, current studies indicate that sodium selenite is applied to soil and foliage; the selenium content of the tobacco leaves can be obviously improved; the selenium element can reduce the content of tar and free radicals in cigarette smoke, inhibit tumor occurrence and effectively reduce the incidence rate of lung cancer; meanwhile, the selenium fertilizer has antagonistic action on the poison of heavy metals, thereby reducing the harm to human bodies and improving the safety of tobacco, so that the selenium fertilizer is applied to arouse the wide attention of tobacco researchers. However, there are few reports related to the effect of sodium selenite on tobacco diseases, especially tobacco root black rot. Early-stage research of research teams finds that sodium selenite has a certain prevention and treatment effect on tobacco root rot, a series of screening is carried out on mixed combinations, and the prevention and treatment effect of the compound of sodium selenite and pyraclostrobin is general; the sodium selenite and the prochloraz have an additive effect on the disease; the sodium selenite and the carbendazim are compounded to have obvious synergistic effect. The authors further screened the combination on the basis of earlier studies and selected a more excellent synergistic composition.
