1. A dispersant composition comprising:

a) at least one polymer composed of monomers having a naphthalene ring and/or melamine;

b) at least one polymer having carboxylic acid and/or phosphoric acid groups and/or any groups that hydrolyze to carboxylic acid or phosphoric acid groups; and

c) at least one polymer having the structure of formula I:

wherein R is1Hydrogen or alkyl with carbon number not less than 1, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl with carbon number not less than 3, alkenyl with carbon number not less than 2, aryl with carbon number not less than 6; r2Is hydrogen or C1-3 alkyl; a is an alkylene group having 3 or 4 carbon atoms; m and n are integers, wherein m is greater than n and the sum of m and n is greater than 9 and less than 12.

2. Dispersant composition according to claim 1, wherein the component a) is a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula II- (a) and/or of formula II- (b):

3. Dispersant composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the component a) is a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula II- (a):

A dispersant composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the component b) is a copolymer of a structure of formula III with one or more structures selected from the group consisting of structures of formula IV- (a) and formula IV- (b) and/or a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with structures of formula V and formula VI:

The dispersant composition of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the component b) is a copolymer of a structure of formula III with one or more structures selected from the group consisting of formula IV- (a) and formula IV- (b) and/or a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula V and formula VI:

6. The dispersant composition of any of claims 1 to 5, wherein the component c) is of the structure of formula I:

7. The dispersant composition of any of claims 1 to 7, wherein the weight ratio of component a) to component b) is from 1:10 to 10:1, preferably from 1:3 to 3:1, more preferably from 1:2 to 2: 1.

8. The dispersant composition of any of claims 1 to 8, wherein the weight ratio of component c) to the sum of components a) and b) is from 1:100 to 1:5, preferably from 1:50 to 1: 6.

9. The dispersant composition of any of claims 1 to 9, wherein the dispersant composition is an aqueous composition.

10. Use of a dispersant composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9 as a dispersant in a mortar or concrete wherein the weight percentage of the composition is 0.01 to 2.5% based on the weight of cement in the mortar.

11. Use of a dispersant composition according to claim 10, said composition being dissolved in water prior to addition to mortar or concrete, wherein the weight ratio of said composition to water is from 1:10 to 1:1, preferably from 1:6 to 1: 1.5.

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a dispersant composition, more particularly to a dispersant composition for cement, mortar or concrete.

Background

A class of important superplasticizers is the polycarboxylate based Superplasticizers (PCEs) which, due to their chemical structure, i.e., methacrylic acid copolymers as the main chain and methoxy-polyethylene glycol copolymers as the side chains, disperse the particles well, BNS at low dosages results in a drastic water reduction, a further class of important superplasticizers is the naphthalenesulfonate/formaldehyde condensates (BNS), the main variety of which is β -naphthalenesulfonate/formaldehyde condensates.

WO 2016158921a1 discloses a dispersant composition for a hydraulic composition comprising (a) a high molecular compound having a monomer unit including a naphthalene ring; (B) a polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-1,000,000 and having a monomer unit having an alkyleneoxy group and a monomer unit having a group selected from a carboxylic acid group, a phosphoric acid group, a group which becomes a carboxylic acid group by hydrolysis and a group which becomes a phosphoric acid group by hydrolysis; and (C) specific compounds represented by general formulae (C1) to (C4).

WO 2016158921a1 provides a possible solution to the problem that PCE and BNS cannot be used simultaneously as superplasticizers, however, the large amount of possible component (C) in WO 2016158921a1 brings about a potential problem that the fluidity of mortar fluctuates drastically and the fluctuation is confirmed in the examples thereof. Furthermore, for most examples only the flow properties were tested, but not the compressive strength properties, which leaves the potential problem that those components (C) which improve the flowability of the mortar may have a negative impact on the compressive strength of the mortar. It is therefore still unclear to the skilled person what type of component (C) is capable of bringing about a good effect on the mortar or concrete in all required aspects including fluidity and compressive strength.

Summary of The Invention

It is an object of the present invention to provide a dispersant composition comprising: a) at least one polymer composed of monomers having a naphthalene ring and/or melamine; b) at least one polymer having carboxylic acid and/or phosphoric acid groups and/or any groups that hydrolyze to carboxylic acid or phosphoric acid; at least one polymer having the structure of formula I:

R1hydrogen or alkyl with carbon number not less than 1, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl with carbon number not less than 3, alkenyl with carbon number not less than 2, aryl with carbon number not less than 6; r2Is hydrogen or C1-3 alkyl; a is an alkylene group having 3 or 4 carbon atoms; m and n are integers, wherein m is greater than n and the sum of m and n is greater than 9 and less than 12.

It is another object of the invention to provide the use of the dispersant composition in mortars or concretes, wherein the weight percentage of the dispersant composition is 0.01-2.5% based on the weight of cement in the mortar.

It is another object of the present invention to provide an aqueous composition comprising the dispersant composition.

Detailed Description

< technical problem >

Different surfactants are added to solve the problem of thickening and eventually loss of dispersibility of dispersant mixtures of polycarboxylate ether based superplasticizers (PCE) and naphthalene sulfonate/formaldehyde condensates (BNS) in cement, mortar or concrete. However, many surfactants tend to significantly reduce the compressive strength of the resulting concrete. Since compressive strength is one of the key mechanical properties of concrete, it is important to find surfactants that improve the compatibility of PCE and BNS while increasing the compressive strength of the concrete.

In order to solve the technical problem, there is provided a dispersant composition comprising:

a) at least one polymer composed of monomers having a naphthalene ring and/or melamine;

b) at least one polymer having carboxylic acid and/or phosphoric acid groups and/or any groups that hydrolyze to carboxylic acid or phosphoric acid; and

c) at least one polymer having the structure of formula I:

R1hydrogen or alkyl with carbon number not less than 1, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl with carbon number not less than 3, alkenyl with carbon number not less than 2, aryl with carbon number not less than 6; r2Is hydrogen or C1-3 alkyl; a is an alkylene group having 3 or 4 carbon atoms; m and n are integers, wherein m is greater than n and the sum of m and n is greater than 9 and less than 12.

Component a) is a naphthyl and/or melamine based dispersant and component b) is a polycarboxylate ether and/or phosphorus acid containing dispersant. When a naphthalene and/or melamine type dispersant and a polycarboxylic acid and/or phosphoric acid type dispersant are mixed, the viscosity of the mixture rapidly increases and the dispersion property becomes worse. The reason behind this is that the naphthalene ring of the naphthyl dispersant and/or the melamine ring of the melamine based dispersant interact with the polyalkyleneoxy group of the polycarboxylate based dispersant to form a coagulum having an apparent high molecular weight. Such coagulates reduce the contact surface of the dispersant with cement and thus the dispersing performance becomes worse. Component c) readily interacts with the naphthalene ring of the naphthyl dispersant and/or the melamine ring of the melamine-based dispersant and thus eliminates the interaction of component a) and component b). The unentangled components a) and b) absorb differently onto the surface of the cement particles and thus achieve a synergistic effect of components a) and b) in the concrete.

Preferably, component a) is a polycondensate (condensation polymer) obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula II- (a) and/or of formula II- (b):

More preferably, component a) is a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula II- (a):

Even more preferably component a) is a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde and one or more selected from naphthalene, methylnaphthalene, ethylnaphthalene, butylnaphthalene, hydroxynaphthalene.

In order to obtain good flowability in concrete, the weight average molecular weight of component a) is 1,000-100,000, preferably 2,000-50,000, even more preferably 5,000-30,000.

Preferably component b) is a copolymer of a structure of formula III with one or more structures selected from the group consisting of structures of formula IV- (a) and IV- (b) and/or a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula V and VI:

More preferably component b) is a copolymer of a structure of formula III with one or more structures selected from the group consisting of structures of formula IV- (a) and formula IV- (b) and/or a polycondensate obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with a structure of formula V and formula VI:

In order to obtain good flowability in concrete, the weight average molecular weight of component b) is 1,000-500,000, preferably 5,000-200,000, even more preferably 10,000-100,000.

The weight ratio of component a) to component b) is preferably from 1:10 to 10:1, more preferably from 1:3 to 3:1, most preferably from 1:2 to 2: 1.

Component c) is added to the mixture of component a) and component b) to stabilize the mixture and avoid thickening of the dispersant. Preferably component c) is of formula I:

More preferably, component c) is a mixture of at least one member selected from group I and at least one member selected from groups II and III, wherein group I is composed of polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (5) polyoxybutylene (4) ] nonyl ether, polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (6) polyoxybutylene (3) ] nonyl ether, polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (7) polyoxybutylene (2) ] nonyl ether, polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (8) polyoxybutylene (1) ] nonyl ether, polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (5) polyoxybutylene (4) ] decyl ether, polyoxyalkylene [ polyoxyethylene (6) polyoxybutylene The following examples are intended to further illustrate the invention without limiting the scope of protection claimed.

The dispersant composition comprising components a), b) and c) was mixed with water and the resulting mixture was added to concrete to test its initial slump, fluidity and compressive strength properties.

By way of example, a sample of the aqueous dispersant solution was prepared as follows: 500g of an aqueous solution of component a) having a solids content of 40% by weight, 200g of an aqueous solution of component b) having a solids content of 50% by weight and 10g of component c) are mixed and further water is added to give a total of 1000g of the mixture.

As an example, 400g of cement, 813g of sand, 961g of stone and 180g of water were mixed to obtain 1m3And (3) concrete.

The mixture of water and the dispersant composition was added to the concrete by stirring and the resulting concrete was prepared for initial slump and flowability testing according to EN 12350-2 and air content testing according to EN 12350-7. The resulting concrete samples were cured according to EN12390-2 and the resulting cured samples were prepared for compressive strength testing according to EN 12390-3.

Table 1 lists samples and comparative samples for preparing mixtures of water and dispersant compositions.

Table 2 shows the results of tests on the fluidity of concrete, the initial slump of concrete, the air content of concrete and the compressive strength of cured concrete with the addition of the samples listed in Table 1. Examples 0, 1, 2, C1, C2 correspond to the performance tests of the mortars and concretes added to samples 0, 1, 2 and comparative samples 1 and 2.
