The former method is to install diameter increasing plate on each sector plate of the reel or to install integral rubber sleeve on the reel to increase the diameter of the reel. Each diameter increasing plate is arranged on the sector plate and needs a plurality of bolts for fixing, the workload of installation and disassembly is huge, and the efficiency is low. Compared with a steel sleeve, the rubber sleeve has the advantages of poor wear resistance, short service life and certain limitation on use occasions.

① sleeving the elastic sleeve on the reel, which comprises contracting the reel to the minimum diameter, hoisting the elastic sleeve on the reel by an upper coiling trolley or a hoisting ring, making the positioning block on the diameter increasing plate of the elastic sleeve correspond to the positioning groove on the sector plate of the reel, expanding the reel to the maximum diameter, withdrawing the inserting plate, and expanding the elastic sleeve and the reel synchronously when the reel contracts again to increase the diameter of the reel;

② the elastic sleeve is removed from the reel by expanding the reel to a maximum diameter, inserting the insert plate, and then the elastic sleeve is restricted by the insert plate to be unable to be reduced when the reel is reduced to a certain extent, and the reel is reduced continuously, and the elastic sleeve can be removed from the reel by the coil-removing trolley or the hanging ring when the reel is reduced to a minimum diameter.

Further, if the roll is a roll with jaws and the flexible sleeve is mounted on the roll, the jaws on the flexible sleeve should correspond to the jaws on the roll in step ①.
