1. An extruder head, comprising:

a housing having at least one manifold configured to hold a volume of extruded material; and

a panel mounted to the housing, the panel having a plurality of nozzles formed therein fluidly connected to the at least one manifold, and the nozzles in the panel being equally spaced from one another when the nozzles are projected onto a first axis in a plane of the panel, and the nozzles being equally spaced from one another when projected onto a second axis in the plane of the panel that is orthogonal to the first axis, and

movement of the extruder head along any angular path from the intersection of the first and second axes in the plane of the face plate enables at least one nozzle of the plurality of nozzles to be misaligned with any other nozzle.

2. The extruder head of claim 1, wherein the number of nozzles in the plurality of nozzles is an odd number.

3. Extruder head according to claim 2, wherein all the nozzles have the same diameter.

4. Extruder head according to claim 3, wherein one of the nozzles is located at the centre in the plane of the face plate.

5. Extruder head according to claim 4, wherein the number of nozzles located on a first side of a central nozzle is equal to the number of nozzles located on a second side of the central nozzle.

6. The extruder head of claim 5, wherein one nozzle of the first side of the center nozzle is a greater distance from the center nozzle than any other nozzle of the first side of the center nozzle, and the same distance from the center nozzle than a nozzle of the second side of the center nozzle that is a greater distance from the center nozzle than any other nozzle of the second side of the center nozzle.

7. Extruder head according to claim 6, wherein the difference between the minimum distance between the central nozzle and the outermost nozzle at any path angle along which the extruder head moves and the maximum distance between the central nozzle and the outermost nozzle at any path angle along which the extruder moves does not exceed a predetermined number of nozzle diameters.

8. The extruder head of claim 7, wherein for the extruder head having eleven or more nozzles, the predetermined number of nozzles is no greater than two in diameter.

9. The extruder head of claim 7, wherein for the extruder head having eleven or more nozzles, the predetermined number of nozzles is 1.5 in diameter.

10. The extruder head of claim 7, wherein for the extruder head having less than eleven nozzles, the predetermined number of nozzles is no greater than 2.5 in diameter.

11. The extruder head of claim 6, wherein the nozzles are spaced from each other by a distance not less than a predetermined distance.

12. The extruder head of claim 11, wherein no nozzle is positioned in the face plate to generate a line of extruded material separated from a line of extruded material generated by an adjacent nozzle determined by the extruder head path of motion by more than a predetermined distance.

13. The extruder head of claim 12, wherein the first axis is aligned with a 0 ° -180 ° axis and the second axis is aligned with a 90 ° -270 ° axis, and the first axis and the second axis intersect at the center of the face plate.

14. The extruder head of claim 13, wherein the number of nozzles is equal to or greater than nine and three or more nozzles are aligned to extrude extrusion material on top of extrusion material extruded by another nozzle at an angle without movement of the extruder head.

15. An extruder head, comprising:

a housing having at least one manifold configured to hold a volume of extruded material;

a faceplate mounted to the housing, the faceplate having a plurality of nozzles formed therein fluidly connected to the at least one manifold, and the nozzles in the faceplate being equally spaced from one another when the nozzles are projected onto a first axis in a plane of the faceplate, and the nozzles being equally spaced from one another when projected onto a second axis in the plane of the faceplate that is orthogonal to the first axis, a number of nozzles in the plurality of nozzles being an odd number, and

movement of the extruder head along any angular path from the intersection of the first and second axes in the plane of the face plate enables at least one nozzle of the plurality of nozzles to be misaligned with any other nozzle.

16. The extruder head of claim 15, wherein one of the nozzles is located at a center in the plane of the face plate.

17. Extruder head according to claim 16, wherein the number of nozzles located on a first side of a central nozzle is equal to the number of nozzles located on a second side of the central nozzle.

18. The extruder head of claim 17, wherein for both the first axis and the second axis, one nozzle of the first side of the center nozzle is a greater distance from the center nozzle than any other nozzle of the first side of the center nozzle, and the same distance from the center nozzle than a nozzle of the second side of the center nozzle that is a greater distance from the center nozzle than any other nozzle of the second side of the center nozzle.

19. The extruder head of claim 18, wherein the difference between the minimum distance between the central nozzle and the outermost nozzle at any path angle along which the extruder head moves and the maximum distance between the central nozzle and the outermost nozzle at any path angle along which the extruder head moves does not exceed a predetermined number of nozzle diameters.

20. The extruder head of claim 19, wherein the first axis is aligned with a 0 ° -180 ° axis and the second axis is aligned with a 90 ° -270 ° axis, and the first axis and the second axis intersect at the center of the face plate.
