Technical Field

The present invention relates to a play structure for basketball practice.

Background

Such a playing structure generally comprises a base, mounted in an upright position on the base, said bar having an upper end on which a panel and a hoop forming a basket are mounted. For this purpose, the upper end of the rod may be equipped in particular with a connector carrying the panel and the basket part.

It is also known, for example from the document CN-204522184, basketball boards comprising a frame for mounting on poles in combination with connectors, and flexible walls extending through said frame.

These solutions are not entirely satisfactory, since the tension of the flexible wall is not suitable, in particular as regards the rebound characteristics of the ball.

Furthermore, particularly in the case of playing structures for recreational players and/or children, the bar may have stability problems in the upright position, particularly under the impact of the ball against the panel.

The invention aims to improve the prior art by providing in particular a particularly stable playing structure comprising a panel with flexible walls having good resilience properties, and this by means of a particularly simple embodiment.

Disclosure of Invention

To this end, the invention provides a playing structure for basketball practice comprising a base on which a bar is mounted in an upright position, said bar having an upper end equipped with a connector on which are mounted a panel comprising a frame associated with the connector and a flexible wall extending through said frame, and a hoop forming a basket, said playing structure being characterized in that it comprises a strap having an upper end associated with the panel and a lower end associated with the base, said strap being arranged to exert a force on the panel sufficient to stabilize the upper end of the bar in the upright position.

Detailed Description

With reference to these figures, a play set for basketball practice is described below.

The playing structure comprises a base 1 on which a bar 2 carrying a basket 3 is mounted in an upright position.

To this end, the base 1 has a front foot 4, to which a lower end 2a of the bar 2 is coupled, said front foot comprising an upper portion 4a having a slot 5 for receiving said lower end, and a lower portion 4b arranged to support the ground.

The base 1 also has two rear tubes 6, each rear tube 6 having a front end 6a associated with the front foot 4, and a rear end 6b equipped with a ground support joint 7, advantageously, the rear tubes 6 are arranged oppositely in a V-shaped geometry, forming between them an angle α, this angle α being sufficient to limit the risk of the playing structure tilting laterally during use of the playing structure.

Each rear tube 6 comprises at least two sections 8a, 8b, said at least two sections 8a, 8b being connected so as to be reversibly manoeuvrable between a deployed use configuration and a compact stowed configuration. To this end, the segments 8a, 8b may be connected by a connection 9, the connection 9 being provided with manually operable means to allow passage from one configuration to the other.

With respect to fig. 4, each rear tube 6 comprises a front section 8a, which is coupled to the front foot 4, and a rear section 8b, which is slidably mounted on the front section 8 between a retracted position in the front section, corresponding to a compact storage, and a deployed position, outside the front section, corresponding to a deployed use position.

The connection 9 comprises a sleeve 9a fixed to the rear end of the front section 8a, and elastic means 9b locking the rear section 8a in the deployed position. In particular, the elastic means 9b comprise a sheet, for example made of metal material, folded on itself to form two claw members 10 arranged for:

when the rear section 8a is in the deployed position, the pawl engages with the front end 11 of said rear section to lock the latter in said extended position; and

when the user exerts sufficient translational force on the rear section 8b towards the front section 8a, the claw member disengages from the front end 11 to allow said rear section to slide in said front section.

The connector 9 also comprises a boss pin 9c for resting on the ground to add support to each rear tube 6, thereby improving the stability of the base 1.

The rod 2 may comprise at least two sections 12, the at least two sections 12 of the rod being connected so as to be reversibly manipulable between a deployed, in-use configuration and a compact, stowed configuration.

With reference to fig. 1, the bar 2 comprises four segments 12, for example made of metal material, two adjacent segments 12 being slidably mounted with respect to each other between a retracted position, in which the upper segment 12 is retracted in the lower segment, and a deployed position, in which said upper segment is outside said lower segment.

In a known manner, the upper end 13 of each lower section 12 may comprise locking means of the adjacent upper section 12 in the deployed position, which locking means can be unlocked manually to allow the upper section to slide in the lower section when the bars 2 are arranged in the compact storage position

The upper section end 12a of bar 2 comprises an upper end 14, upper end 14 being equipped with a connector 15, panel 16 and collar 17 forming basket 3 being mounted on connector 15.

To this end, each of the panel 16 and the collar 17 comprises a frame 16a, 17A associated with the connector 15. In the embodiment shown, the frame 17a of the collar 17 is coupled to the connector 15 below the frame 16a of the panel 16.

In particular, the connector 15 has two plates 15a, the two plates 15a being assembled together around the upper end 14, in particular by four screws 18, said plates forming an internal cavity 15b in which a frame 16a of the panel 16 and a possible frame 17a of the collar 17 are joined. The internal cavity 15b is arranged in particular to facilitate the forming of the frames 16a, 17 a.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the plan view of the panel 16 has a C-shaped geometry in which the collar 17 is positioned. Thus, the panel 16 has a configuration that facilitates successful projection, which makes it particularly suitable for training novice players and/or children.

The panel 16 comprises a flexible wall 19, which flexible wall 19 may be made of textile material, in particular of the mesh type, which extends through the frame 16 a. Thus, the panel 16 has a relatively reduced weight, which facilitates its storage and transport. Similarly, the collar 17 includes threads 20 that engage the frame 17 a.

Advantageously, the frame 16a of the panel 16 is arranged to allow reversible folding of said panel, which facilitates its storage and transport. To this end, the frame 16a may be made of a foldable material, in particular a glass fibre reinforced plastic.

The frame 16a has a peripheral edge 21 in which the flexible wall 19 extends, giving the panel good bouncing properties. To improve these resilience properties, the frame 16a may also comprise at least one reinforcing bar, arranged behind said flexible wall 19, joined on both sides to the peripheral edge 21.

The play structure comprises a strap 22 having an upper end 22a associated with the panel 16 and a lower end 22b associated with the base 1, said strap being arranged to exert a force on the panel 16 sufficient to stabilize the upper end 14 of the bar 2 in the upright position.

Advantageously, the upper end 22b of the strap 22 is associated with the flexible wall 19, allowing to exert an additional tension on said flexible wall and therefore to improve the rebound characteristics of the panel 16 in a simple manner. In addition, this configuration ensures, with the same technical means, the tension of the panel 16 and the stability of the bar 2 in the upright position, thus simplifying the production of the game structure, while optimally combining these two functions.

To this end, the flexible wall 19 has a lower extension 19a, the lower extension 19a extending below the frame 16a, and the upper end 22a of the strap 22 is joined with the lower extension 19 a. In particular, in the embodiment shown, the lower extension 19a has a triangular geometry, the top 30 of which is oriented downwards and the upper edge 31 of which is joined to the frame 16 a.

Advantageously, the upper edge 31 has a central portion 31a arranged at the rear of the bar 2, on the edge of which are two lateral portions 31b, each arranged at the front of the bar 2. In particular, this arrangement is obtained along the lower edge of the C-shaped geometry of the panel 16.

Thus, by the triangulation effect, and in particular by providing for the upper end 22a of the strap 22 to be bonded under the central portion 31a, the stability of the play structure is facilitated by optimising the resilient characteristics of the panel 16.

The upper end 22a can engage the lower extension 19a at the connector 15, which allows concentration of the tensile forces exerted on the panel 16 and the bar 2, respectively, at the upper end 14.

The lower end 22b of the strap 22 is coupled to the base 1 such that the strap 22 exerts a backward bending force on the bar 2. Consequently, the tension on the bar 2 increases, which allows to improve the stability in the upright position.

With reference to the figures, the belt 22 has an upper portion 23, two lower strands 24 extending below the upper portion 23, the lower end 22b of each lower strand 24 being joined to the rear tube 6, respectively. To this end, each connecting element 9 comprises a binder 9d of the lower ends 22b of the lower strands 24

The strap 22 is equipped with an adjustment device 25 that adjusts its length so as to be able to adjust the tension applied on the panel 16. In the figure, the upper part 23 comprises a ring 25 for adjusting its length, which is a particularly simple and intuitive adjustment means.
