3. Emergency shutdown device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the illumination means of the adjacent face (9) of the key (7) and of the connection module (8) are designed in the form of electronic ink.

4. Emergency shutdown device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a protective cover (10) is formed above the region in which the organic light-emitting diodes are arranged, i.e. above the adjacent surface (9) of the pushbutton and the connection module (8).

5. Emergency shutdown device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the region provided with organic light-emitting diodes has a different coloration (11,12,13) in the activated and deactivated state.

6. Emergency stop device according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the current loop is designed in a separate signal line when connected to the operating voltage for the emergency stop device.

7. Emergency shutdown device according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that in installations with integrated communication electronics the power supply system is designed at the output of the fail-safe, digital output module.

Emergency shutdown device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the features of the emergency shutdown device which are specific to the illumination are positioned on the outer side of the housing, so that the functional components in the housing interior correspond to individual modules which are common to mass production.

9. Emergency shutdown device according to one of the claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the emergency shutdown device has an additional message (14) on the illuminated display of the key (7) in the activated mode.
