Background
In drilling operations, it is often necessary to grip the drill pipe by means of power tongs to achieve the gripping and loosening action of the drill pipe. However, the current universal power tongs are the hydraulic and pneumatic tongs developed and produced in 1979, and have the following defects:
1, the weight of the hydraulic and pneumatic tong is as high as 2500 kilograms, and the hydraulic and pneumatic tong is suspended on a small cross beam of a derrick with limited load and has certain safety risk;
