Detailed Description

Before the present invention is described in detail, it should be noted that in the following description, like elements are represented by like reference numerals.

Referring to fig. 1 to 3, an embodiment of a kit for a stringed musical instrument 100 according to the present invention includes a kit, which in the embodiment of fig. 1 to 3 is a trimmer 1, and a plurality of sound purifiers (sound purifiers) 3.

For illustrative purposes, the stringed musical instrument 100 is exemplified by the violin shown in fig. 1. However, in other embodiments, the stringed musical instrument 100 may be a viola, cello, viola, or the like. In detail, the stringed musical instrument 100 includes a body 101. The body 101 includes a front plate 101a, a back plate 101b, and a side wall 101c connected between the front plate 101a and the back plate 101b to form a sound box. The body 101 further includes a neck 104 connected at one end thereof to the front plate 101a and the side wall 101c, a peg box 105 connected at the other end thereof to the neck 104, a plurality of pegs 106 (i.e., four pegs 106) mounted on the peg box 105, and a plurality of strings 102 (i.e., four strings 102) corresponding to the pegs 106, respectively.

In this embodiment, the body 101 further includes a tailpiece 21 mounted on the front plate 101 a. The tailpiece 21 has four hole portions 22 corresponding to the strings 102, respectively, and each of the hole portions 22 has a groove 220 for holding a corresponding one of the strings 102. The trimmers 1 are attached to one of the holes 22 of the tailpiece 21 (typically, the hole 22 corresponding to the E-string), and it is noted that the number of the trimmers 1 attached to the tailpiece 21 can be adjusted to a plurality according to the use requirements of the player.

The strings 102 are wound around the tuning pegs 106, respectively, and each string 102 has a hoop-shaped end 103 surrounding a spherical body 103a, the width of the spherical body 103a being greater than the width of the groove 220 of the tailpiece 21. In another embodiment, the end 103 may not have the spherical body 103a, but may be in a knot or loop form. The end 103 of the string 102 is fixed to the trimmer 1 with the trimmer 1 mounted on the hole portion 22, while the end 103 of the string 102 is directly fixed to the tailpiece 21 without the trimmer 1.

In the present embodiment, the trimmer 1 has (but is not limited to) a base 11 disposed below the tailpiece 21, a bolt 12, a nut 13, a tuning screw 14, and a tailpiece 15. The bolt 12 is formed with a threaded axial hole 120, and the bolt 12 is attached to the base 11 and passes through the tailpiece 21. The nut 13 is disposed above the tailpiece 21 and locked downward to the bolt 12 to fix the base 11 below the tailpiece 21. The tuning screw 14 is threadedly engaged with the threaded axial bore 120 of the bolt 12. The string pulling seat 15 is pivotally connected to the base 11 and has a bearing portion 151 and a pulling portion 152 connected to the bearing portion 151 to form an L-shaped integral structure. The pulling portion 152 has a groove for pulling the end 103 of the string 102. To adjust the string 102, the tuning screw 14 is turned to push the bearing 151, causing the distance between the grip 152 and the tuning peg 106 to change, which also relatively changes the tension of the string 102. It is particularly noted that the trimmer 1 may be of different forms and have different detail elements.

Generally, the trimmer 1 is made of metal or fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) having Young's modulus (Young's modulus) of more than 35GPa, and the tailpiece 21 is made of FRP or wood having Young's modulus of more than 17 GPa.

In the present embodiment, the kit comprises three sound purifiers 3. A first sound purifier 3 of the sound purifiers 3 is interposed between the nut 13 of the trimmer 1 and the tailpiece 21 (hereinafter referred to as set point a), a second sound purifier 3 of the sound purifiers 3 is interposed between the base 11 of the trimmer 1 and the tailpiece 21 (hereinafter referred to as set point B), and a third sound purifier 3 of the sound purifiers 3 is interposed between the pull portion 152 of the tailpiece 15 of the trimmer 1 and one of the end portions 103 of the string 102 (hereinafter referred to as set point C).

Each of the sound purifiers 3 is made of a material having a young's modulus approximately equal to or less than 3.5GPa, in the present embodiment, each of the sound purifiers 3 is made of a material selected from the group consisting of sponge, rubber, foam, silica gel, latex, and a combination thereof, and the young's modulus of the material is approximately equal to or less than 1GPa, and the material may be designed in the form of, but not limited to, a disk, a ring, a block, or a sphere.

Specifically, the sound purifier 3 provided at the set point a or the set point B may be formed with a hole (not shown) for passing the tuning screw 14 therethrough. For the sound purifier 3 set at the set point C, since the holding portion 152 usually has a slot (not shown), the sound purifier 3 should also be formed with a slot (not shown) for the string 102 to slide in so as to press the spherical body 103a against the holding portion 152. In other embodiments without the spherical body 103a, the looped end 103 may simply surround the pull portion 152 without designing a slot in the sound purifier 3.

Referring to fig. 4, in another embodiment of the present invention, the sound purifier 3 interposed between the string pulling seat 15 and one of the ends 103 of the string 102 may be designed as a cover covering the end of the string pulling seat 15.

As for the function of the sound purifier 3, a conventional trimmer, which is mounted on the tailpiece 21 to always vibrate together with the strings 102 when played, has a metal characteristic that very efficiently transmits vibration energy from the strings 102 to the tailpiece 21, causing unnecessary energy loss. In the present embodiment, the sound purifier 3 is functional to reduce the vibration of the trimmer 1. Further, the sound purifier 3 can effectively produce a sound insulating effect between the tailpiece 21 and the trimmer 1 and/or between the strings 102 and the trimmer 1. Thus, vibration from the tailpiece 21 and unnecessary sound from the trimmer 1 can be suppressed. Therefore, the sound purifier 3 can not only enhance the sound volume from the strings 102 but also purify the sound profile characteristic so that the sound profile characteristic is concentrated only on the strings 102.

The trimmer 1 and the sound purifier 3 of the accessory group are installed in the effect that the tailpiece 21 reached has been carefully examined by two professional pianists, will the accessory group is installed on violin and cello and after the test, and the naked ear can obviously hear at its stringed musical instrument with the volume that the accessory group combines the back to produce is bigger and tone quality is better. And according to their personal evaluation and judgement, the string instrument can be made more valuable as the sound quality improvement result brought by the combination of the arrangement of the accessory group.

Referring to fig. 5, an embodiment of a set of accessories for the stringed musical instrument 100 according to the invention is shown, which set of accessories comprises, in the present embodiment, accessories exemplarily illustrated with the tailpiece 21, and a plurality of sound purifiers 3. It is to be noted that, in the present embodiment, the tailpiece 21 is defined as an accessory, not a part of the body 101 of the stringed musical instrument 100.

In this embodiment, the ends 103 of the strings 102 are fixed to the tailpiece 21 directly, not through the trimmers 1, and each sound purifier 3 is interposed between the tailpiece 21 and the spherical body 103a of a corresponding one of the strings 102.

Each of the sound purifiers 3 is designed in the form of a disk, block or sphere having a fine hole or slot (not shown) so that the string 102 can pass therethrough, thereby pressing the spherical body 103a of the string 102 against the surface of the sound purifier 3.

In another embodiment, the accessories for the accessory set of the stringed musical instrument 100 are the strings 102. It is particularly noted that, in the present embodiment, the strings 102 are defined as accessories, not as a part of the body 101 of the stringed musical instrument 100, whereas, in the present embodiment, the tailpiece 21 is defined as a part of the body 101 of the stringed musical instrument 100.

The conventional tailpiece is in direct contact with the strings 102, whereby the conventional tailpiece will vibrate together with the strings 102 when the strings 102 are plucked, and the vibration energy of the strings 102 is transferred to the conventional tailpiece, resulting in inevitable loss of sound energy of the strings 102 and thus a reduced sound volume. In addition, acoustic disturbances are also generated by the vibrations of conventional stringing boards. In the present embodiment, the sound purifier 3 acoustically isolates the end 103 of the string 102 from the tailpiece 21, and the sound insulating effect of the sound purifier 3 can reduce the loss of sound energy of the string 102 and reduce the sound interference from the tailpiece 21, while the sound volume of the string 102 is relatively increased.

Referring to fig. 6 and 7, there is shown an embodiment of a kit for the stringed musical instrument 100 according to the present invention, in this embodiment, the kit includes a chin rest apparatus 4 as a kit, and a sound purifier 3, and the stringed musical instrument 100 may be a violin or a viola.

The chin rest arrangement 4 comprises a chin rest 41, two supporting feet 42(holding knives), and two turnbuckle clamps 43(turnbuckle clamps). The chin rest 41 is provided on the front plate 101a of the body 101 through, but not limited to, two contact points. Each of the supporting legs 42 is disposed below the back plate 101b of the body 101. The two turnbuckle clamps 43 are connected to the two support legs 42, respectively, and are fastened to the chin rest 41, so that the chin rest 41 and the support legs 42 are mounted on the body 101 of the stringed musical instrument 100.

Each sound purifier 3 may be sandwiched between the chin rest 41 and the front plate 101a, and/or between the support foot 42 and the back plate 101 b. Specifically, in the present embodiment, two sound purifiers 3 (in the front) are provided below the chin rest 41, and two sound purifiers 3 (in the rear) are provided on the supporting foot 42, each of the front sound purifiers 3 being sandwiched between the contact point of the chin rest 41 and the front plate 101a of the body 101, and each of the rear sound purifiers 3 being sandwiched between the supporting foot 42 and the back plate 101b of the body 101.

For example, the chin rest 41 is made of wood having a young's modulus of more than 17GPa or FRP having a young's modulus of more than 35GPa, and the support foot 42 is made of metal.

It is particularly noted that the conventional chin rest apparatus reduces the vibration of the body 101 of the stringed musical instrument 100. In the present embodiment, the sound purifier 3 provides the body 101 with a better sound insulation with the chin rest apparatus 4, so that the vibration attenuation of the body 101 can be further reduced. In other words, since the body 101 recovers the original vibration, the sound quality is improved.
