Technical Field

The invention relates to an safety belt device, in particular for use in building construction activities for hooking persons when they fall, comprising:

-at least shoulder straps comprising a chest portion, a shoulder portion and a back portion, and

-a locking element for releasably attaching the safety line.

Background

It is known, for example, from DE20022993U1 to a safety harness with a locking device and a retaining device, which safety harness has a waist belt strap and a shoulder belt strap, which shoulder belt strap has two parts which are arranged crosswise on the back of the wearer, which intersection is provided with a safety rope loop for securing a safety rope.

In the case of construction activities, standard safety belts are used, in which safety lines (fall protection lines) are fastened to safety line loops in the back region of the wearer. Thus, the wearer of the harness is not hindered from performing his work activity. However, a serious disadvantage with this embodiment is that in the event of a fall, the wearer must disengage the safety line as quickly as possible. Hanging on the back can create life-threatening loads (stresses) in a short period of time. In some cases, death may occur only after a 20 minute loading time. The reason for this is that the suspension on the back exerts high pressure on the thorax, leg arteries and leg veins due to its own weight, thereby greatly impairing respiration and circulation.

, harnesses for other applications, particularly climbing harnesses, are known in which a securing cord is attached to the front or chest side of the wearer, thereby increasing the non-lethal time a person can "stay on the cord" after falling to at least 60 minutes.

Disclosure of Invention

It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to create a harness arrangement for construction activities that improves the stress (load) on the wearer in case of a fall.

The above object is achieved by a safety belt arrangement according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments are contained in the dependent claims.

According to the invention, the locking element can be switched between an operative position, in which the locking element is arranged on the back portion side of the shoulder strap, and a hooking position, in which the locking element is arranged on the chest portion side of the shoulder strap.

In order to be able to carry out the working movement freely and unhindered, the locking element is arranged on the rear side of the wearer of the seat belt device in the working position. Thus, for example, when carrying out construction work activities on metal frame structures, the end portion of the safety line connected with the locking element is located in the back area of the wearer. In other words, the attachment of the safety line to the back is provided in the working position (i.e. the support line is provided on the back part of the shoulder harness). Thus, the work activities can be carried out freely and unhindered, wherein at the same time the desired fall protection is achieved. In the event of a fall, an independent displacement of the locking element from the operating position into the hooking position is triggered. During the transition from the working position to the hanging position, the locking element and thus also the safety cord are guided from the rear side of the wearer to the chest side or front side of the wearer. In this position, the safety line is disposed on the front or chest side of the wearer. The end region of the locking element or of the safety line connected thereto therefore follows a path of movement from the back of the wearer, preferably over the shoulders thereof, to the chest region. Due to the attachment in the chest region, the thorax of the wearer is advantageously subjected to only minimal loads (or stresses) in the hitching position. Since the safety line switches from a back setting to a chest setting during or a few seconds after a fall, the wearer can stay on the safety line for a longer time before the occurrence of a health-hazardous load due to compression forces. The freedom of movement in the performance of work activities can thus be advantageously combined with greater safety in the event of a fall.

For the purposes of this disclosure, the position and orientation specifications relate to the state of the seat belt when used as intended. For example, "front", etc. relate to the chest area of the wearer, while "rear", etc. relate to the back area of the wearer.

In order to enable the locking element to be displaced from the rear side to the front side of the person to be protected, a hooking element is preferably provided on the chest portion side of the shoulder strap, and a connecting element, preferably a connecting cable, is preferably provided for connecting the locking element to the hooking element, the hooking element being fixed on the front side, i.e. on the chest portion side of the shoulder strap.

For this purpose it is preferred that ends of the connecting element are connected to the locking element and the other ends of the connecting element are connected to the hooking element in the operative position the connecting element is in a state not carrying the weight of the wearer of the harness, wherein the weight of the wearer is taken up by the locking element on the rear side.

In order to provide the wearer with maximum freedom of movement, to achieve high safety standards and to make the shoulder straps easier to wear, it is advantageous if the connecting element is guided along the shoulder straps at least in sections, preferably substantially over the entire longitudinal extent of the connecting element, in the operating position.

For the reasons mentioned above, it is furthermore advantageous if the connecting element is received between the shoulder strap and a covering element, in particular a covering woven fabric, in the working position.

According to a preferred embodiment, the covering element is connected to the shoulder strap by a joint, in particular by a seam. Therefore, in the event of a fall, the displacement of the suspended portion from the rear side to the front side can be delayed. Thus, in the event of a fall, the weight of the wearer is advantageously transferred relatively gently from the suspension of the back to the suspension of the chest. At the end of the fall, the wearer is suspended by the safety line in a stable position with virtually no impairment of breathing or blood circulation.

According to a further preferred embodiment, a retaining element for connecting the locking element to the shoulder strap and a release device for releasing the locking element from the retaining element are provided. The holding element is fixedly connected to the shoulder straps, in particular to the back part thereof, at the rear side of the wearer. In the event of a fall, the release device releases the locking element from the retaining element by means of the catch force. Thus, the weight of the wearer is transferred to the hooking element of the front side.

In a preferred variant, the release device comprises a latch and a latch receptacle, wherein in the operating position the latch is connected to the latch receptacle and the latch can be transferred to a release position released from the latch receptacle by applying a predetermined longitudinal force to the locking element. Thus, under normal conditions, the safety line is arranged at the locking element at the rear side of the wearer, so as not to hinder the wearer from performing his work activities. The release device is activated only in the event of a fall, the locking element thereby being released from the retaining element so that the locking element can be displaced to the front side.

From a structural point of view it is advantageous if the latch is mounted, in particular pivotally, on the holding element, wherein the locking element comprises a latch receptacle. However, the latch may also be provided on the locking element and the latch receptacle may be provided on the retaining element.

In order to define a specific release force, it is advantageous if the release device comprises a spring element, the locking element being releasable from the holding element against the spring force of the spring element.

The release device particularly preferably comprises a damping element for braking a release movement of the locking element relative to the retaining element. The damping element causes a time delay during the release.
