1. A dispensing closure (100) for a container (10) having a spout (20) for dispensing a fluid, the dispensing closure comprising:

-a peripheral wall (200) adapted to fit at least partially within and seal against said spout when said closure (100) is in its closed position,

-a transverse wall (300) extending within said peripheral wall (200), and

a toggle link member (400) extending from the transverse wall (300) for manipulation by a user,

wherein the peripheral wall (200) and the transverse wall (300) are made of an elastic material, and

wherein the closure (100) is arranged and adapted such that

a) The closure (100) is in its closed position when no force is applied by a user to the toggle member (400), and

b) when a user applies a force onto the toggle member (400), at least a portion of the transverse wall (300) and at least a portion of the peripheral wall (200) deform such that the seal between the peripheral wall (200) and the spout of the container (10) is at least partially opened to place the closure (100) in its open position, thereby allowing fluid to be dispensed from the container (10),

wherein the dispensing closure (100) further comprises a valve element (500), the valve element (500) being arranged in the transverse wall (300) and being arranged such that it is closed when the closure (100) is in its closed position and such that it is at least partially open when the closure (100) is in its open position to allow air to flow into the container (100).

2. A dispensing closure according to claim 1, wherein when a user manipulates the toggle lever (400) to bring the closure from its closed position into its open position, the transverse wall (300) and/or the peripheral wall (200) is deformed such that first the seal of the peripheral wall (200) against the spout (20) is at least partially opened to allow fluid to be dispensed from the container (10) before the valve is brought into its open position to allow air to flow into the container (10).

3. Dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the peripheral wall (200), the transverse wall (300) and the toggle member (400) are made of the same material.

4. Dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the toggle lever (400) is made of an elastic material, but is arranged such that it is more rigid than the peripheral wall (200) and/or the transverse wall (300).

Dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the peripheral wall (200) comprises an outer part (220) and an inner part (240) which together form a receiving space (230) for accommodating the spout (20) or a part of the spout (20) of a fluid container (10) when the dispensing closure is attached to the container (10).

6. Dispensing closure according to claim 5, wherein the outer portion (220) of the peripheral wall (200) comprises a dispensing opening (260).

Dispensing closure according to claim 5 or 6, wherein said outer portion (220) of said peripheral wall (200) comprises a sealing element (225) adapted to seal against the outside of said spout (20) of said container, said sealing element being adapted such that sealing is achieved both when said dispensing closure is in its closed position and when said dispensing closure is in its open position.

Dispensing closure according to any one of claims 5 to 7, wherein the inner portion (240) of the peripheral wall (200) comprises a sealing element (245) adapted to seal against the interior of the spout (20) of the container (10), wherein the sealing element (245) is adapted such that it seals the spout (20) of the container (10) when the dispensing closure (100) is in its closed position and such that it is at least partially opened when the closure is in its open position, wherein preferably the seal is opened in the vicinity of the dispensing opening (260) of the outer portion (220) of the peripheral wall (200).

Dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said valve element (500) comprises at least one opening (520) through said transverse wall (300) and a closing element (560), said closing element (560) being adapted to close said opening (520) when said valve element (500) is in its closed position and to at least partially open said at least one opening to allow air flow into said container when said valve element (500) is in its open position.

10. The dispensing closure of claim 9, wherein said closure element (560) is made of a rigid material.

Dispensing closure according to claim 9 or 10, wherein the closure element (560) comprises a sealing surface (560) and a column (562), the column (502) preferably extending from the sealing surface (566), the column (562) being inserted into an opening (568) of the lateral wall (300) of the dispensing closure and being attached to the lateral wall (300).

Dispensing closure according to any one of claims 9 to 11, wherein the valve element (500) comprises a sealing wall (540) extending from the transverse wall (300) of the dispensing closure (100), said sealing wall being adapted to seal against a sealing surface (566) of the closure element (560) when the valve (500) is in its closed position.

13. Dispensing closure according to claim 12, wherein the sealing wall (540) is flexible and made of the same material as the transverse wall (300).

14. Dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the transverse wall (300) comprises an actuating element (600) extending from an upper or outer side of the transverse wall (300) and arranged such that when a user manipulates the toggle lever (400) to bring the dispensing closure into its open position, the actuating element exerts a force on the valve element (500).

Dispensing closure according to any of claims 11 to 14, comprising an actuating element as defined in claim 14, wherein the actuating element (600) is arranged such that it exerts a pressure on the column (562) of the closure element (560) when a user manipulates the toggle lever (400) to bring the dispensing closure into its open position.

16. A dispensing closure (100) for a container (10) having a spout (20) for dispensing a fluid, in particular a dispensing closure according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising:

-a peripheral wall (200) adapted to fit at least partially within and seal against said spout when said closure (100) is in its closed position,

-a transverse wall (300) extending within said peripheral wall (200), and

a toggle link member (400) extending from the transverse wall (300) for manipulation by a user,

wherein the peripheral wall (200) and the transverse wall (300) are made of an elastic material, and

wherein the closure further comprises a fastening element (800) made of a rigid material, the fastening element (800) being attached to the peripheral wall (200) for fixing the dispensing closure (100) to the spout (20) of the container (10),

the dispensing closure further comprises a cap portion (840) attached to the fastening element (800) by a removable tamper element (820).

17. The dispensing closure of claim 16, wherein said fastening element (800), said tamper element (820) and said cap portion (840) are made of the same rigid material.

18. Dispensing closure according to claim 16 or 17, wherein said fastening element (800), said tamper element (820) and said cap portion (840) are integral elements.

19. A system having a container (10) with a spout (20) for dispensing a fluid and having a dispensing closure as claimed in any one of the preceding claims.
