Background

A PVB film (polyvinyl butyral resin film), also called PVB film, is widely used for safety glass because of its excellent properties such as transparency, light resistance, heat resistance, sound insulation, softness, antifogging, no hardening at low temperature, and good adhesion to glass and metal. Up to now, safety glass has been widely used, and is widely used in the fields of aircraft manufacturing, bank counters, building industry, solar cell films and the like besides small automobiles.

The most central equipment in the production of PVB film is the extruder section. At present, a PVB film extruder mainly adopts a double-screw structure, has the characteristics of good charging performance, mixing plasticizing performance, exhaust performance, extrusion stability and the like, and is widely applied to the forming processing of extruded products. The major factor affecting the performance of twin screw extruders is the length to diameter (L/D) ratio of the screws, i.e., the ratio of the effective length to the diameter of the working portion of the screw. In general, the length-diameter ratio of a screw can represent the plasticizing capacity of the screw, while different length-diameter ratios affect the plasticizing effect. When the length-diameter ratio of the screw of the extruder is controlled within a proper range, the length-diameter ratio is increased, the retention time and the plasticizing time of the materials in the extruder can be prolonged, the mixing uniformity of the materials is increased, the plasticizing quality is improved, the counter flow and the leakage flow during extrusion are reduced, and the production capacity and the product quality of the extruder are improved. However, when the length-diameter ratio of the screw is too large, the difficulty in processing, manufacturing, assembling, using and maintaining the screw is increased, the screw is easy to bend and deform, the gap between the screw and the machine barrel is uneven, the power consumption of the extruder is increased, even the scraping and grinding phenomena are generated, and the yield is reduced due to too long retention time of materials in the extruder; when the length-diameter ratio is too small, the mixing and plasticizing of materials are not facilitated, and the yield and the product quality of the extruder are influenced.

CN109476043A discloses enhancing the mixing and plasticizing properties of a resin material by mounting a kneading disc on an extruder screw, the kneading disc having an improved mixing function for the resin material in the screw rotation direction. CN103770310B introduces a grooved barrel extruder, which realizes high-speed and high-efficiency melting and plasticizing of materials and obtains higher extrusion yield by designing the barrel of the extruder. Although the methods can effectively melt and plasticize materials in the extruder and improve the plasticizing quality and yield, the methods are more complicated, time-consuming and labor-consuming when cleaning and maintaining the cylinder, the kneading element and the extruder. In addition, in the production process, the friction between the materials and the kneading disc and the grooved machine barrel can be increased, the resistance of the movement of the materials is increased, the kneading elements and the machine barrel are abraded, the replacement period of the kneading elements and the machine barrel is short, and excessive heat generated by the friction can consume a large amount of cooling water, so that the production cost is increased.

The yield of the PVB film of the comparative example is 380kg/h, and the performance indexes of the obtained PVB film are shown in the table 1.
