1. A method of scanning a microscope slide using an apparatus having:

at least one feed unit for a microscope slide support,

at least two of the microscope slide scanners,

at least one storage device, and

at least one of the industrial robots is provided with,

the method comprises the following steps:

a) loading the feed unit with at least one microscope slide rack containing at least one microscope slide,

b) removing the microscope slide from the at least one microscope slide holder,

c) inserting the removed microscope slide into one of the microscope slide scanners,

d) removing the microscope slide from one of the microscope slide scanners,

e) storing the microscope slides in the storage device,

wherein steps b) to e) are performed by said at least one industrial robot.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein steps b) through e) of the method are repeated so frequently until all microscope slides are removed from the at least one microscope slide holder.

3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the at least one industrial robot is an articulated arm robot, preferably a 6-, 7-or 8-axis articulated arm robot.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the at least one articulated arm robot has a gripper for gripping the microscope slide.

5. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, comprising the steps of:

-transmitting an information signal with information of completion of the scanning process from the microscope slide scanner to the industrial robot,

wherein removal of the microscope slide from the microscope slide scanner occurs only after receiving the information signal.

6. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 5, comprising the steps of:

f) removing the microscope slide support from the feed unit, an

g) Storing the microscope slide support, preferably in a microscope slide support storage device,

wherein steps f) and g) are preferably performed by said at least one industrial robot.

7. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the feed unit has at least one substrate and at least one front wall.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the feed unit is arranged obliquely such that a microscope slide holder placed onto the base plate slides due to gravity towards the front wall of the feed unit or towards a microscope slide holder already present in the feed unit.

9. The method of any of claims 1 to 8, wherein the microscope slide scanners each have a rotatable mount for a microscope slide.

10. The method of any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the industrial robot immediately removes a microscope slide from the at least one microscope slide holder and inserts the microscope slide into a microscope slide scanner that has not been loaded after removing the microscope slide from one of the microscope slide scanners and storing the microscope slide in the storage device.

11. The method of any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein steps b) and c) are repeated so frequently until each microscope slide scanner is loaded with a microscope slide.

12. An apparatus for scanning a microscope slide, comprising:

A) at least one feed unit designed to receive a microscope slide rack loaded with microscope slides,

B) at least two of the microscope slide scanners,

C) at least one storage device for receiving the scanned microscope slide,

D) at least one industrial robot designed to

-removing a microscope slide from a microscope slide holder arranged in the feeding unit,

-loading each microscope slide scanner with a microscope slide,

-removing the microscope slides from each microscope slide scanner, and

-storing the microscope slides in a storage device.

13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the at least one feed unit has a base plate and a front wall,

wherein the substrate preferably presents a slope having a low end and a high end,

wherein the front wall is preferably arranged at the lower end of the base plate,

wherein said lower end of said base plate preferably has a pressing device.
