1. An escalator suitable for operation between stairwells, comprising:

6. The escalator suitable for staircase operation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pair of support posts are provided on their inner sidewalls with slide rails, and the slide rails are provided with mating slide blocks, which are connected to the rail seats by connecting rods.

7. The escalator adapted for staircase travel according to claim 6, wherein said pair of support posts are disposed at the bottom of the ground level 1 or the underground level.

An escalator adapted for staircase operation according to either of claims 6 or 7, wherein said pair of support posts are replaced by a single main support post located in the stairwell intermediate one pair of angled ends of the escalator, one side wall of which is provided with a rack and the opposite side wall of which is provided with a track.

9. The escalator suitable for staircase operation as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rail seat is constructed by 2 or 4 pieces assembled together.

10. An escalator adapted for staircase operation as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rail mounts are provided with dust and rockfall resistant coverings.
