Background

The isolating switch is a switch device which is mainly used for isolating a power supply and switching over, communicating and cutting off a small current circuit and has no arc extinguishing function. When the isolating switch is in the separated position, the contacts have insulation distance meeting the specified requirements and obvious disconnection marks; a switching device capable of carrying current in normal loop conditions and current in abnormal conditions, such as a short circuit, for a specified period of time when in the closed position. The high-voltage isolating switch is generally used as a high-voltage isolating switch, namely an isolating switch with rated voltage of more than 1kV, the high-voltage isolating switch has a simple working principle and structure, but has high requirements on working reliability due to large usage amount, and has large influence on the design, establishment and safe operation of a substation and a power plant. The main characteristic of the isolating switch is that it has no arc-extinguishing capability, and can only open and close the circuit under the condition of no load current. The vocabulary entry introduces the function, characteristics, type, application, error improvement prevention, maintenance, common problems and the like of the isolating switch.

Whether the rotating part of the isolating switch is flexible is a key factor for reliable operation and action of equipment.
