Background

False eyelashes, eyelash extensions, and eyebrow augmentation, which were once a trend, have now become one of the most thriving and everyday accessories in the beauty industry. False eyelashes or eyelash extensions are used to lengthen, add depth or volume, or curl natural eyelashes. In the case of over 300 different types of false eyelashes on the market today, consumers may choose from a variety of styles, materials, lengths, and costs. The eyelash market is expected to exceed $ 15 billion in the next 5 years. Thus, the use of false eyelashes or eyelash extensions and enhancing the eyebrows is common.

Typically, false eyelashes or eyelash extensions may take up to two hours and cost between $ 50-400. Also, semi-permanent make-up is an eyebrow enhancement method that involves semi-permanent make-up or tattooing, wherein pigments are added to the area of the eyebrows to create a plump and defined shape. Typically, semi-permanent make-up will last one to three years, depending on the skin type and skin care procedure, and maintenance costs are very high. Consumers of false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, or augmented eyebrows may devote both time and money on these beauty industry products. Thus, the consumer may take steps to protect the cosmetic enhancements throughout their use.

Detailed Description

Reference will now be made in detail to various exemplary embodiments of the disclosure, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

It will be readily understood that the components of the present invention, as generally described and illustrated in the figures herein, could be arranged and designed in a wide variety of different configurations. Accordingly, the following detailed description of the embodiments of the cosmetic enhancement for protecting a cosmetic enhancement, such as an eyelash extension or enhancing an eyebrow, is not intended to limit the scope of the invention, as claimed, but is merely representative of selected embodiments of the invention, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Reference throughout this specification to "a select embodiment," "one embodiment," or "an embodiment" means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiment is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, appearances of the phrases "a select embodiment," "in one embodiment," or "in an embodiment" in various places throughout this specification are not necessarily referring to the same embodiment.

The features, structures, or characteristics described herein may be combined in any suitable manner in one or more embodiments. One skilled in the relevant art will recognize, however, that the invention may be practiced without one or more of the specific details, or with other methods, components, or materials. In other instances, well-known materials or processes have not been shown or described in detail to avoid obscuring aspects of the invention. The following description shows, by way of illustration, specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced, and is intended to be exemplary only. That is, the following description simply illustrates certain selected embodiments of a device for protecting a cosmetic enhancement consistent with the invention claimed herein. It is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilized, as structural and process changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Typically, false eyelashes or eyelash extensions can take hours and cost hundreds of dollars. Semi-permanent make-up, a method of eyebrow enhancement, can also cost a great deal of time and money. Semi-permanent make-up may include semi-permanent make-up or tattoos, wherein pigments are added to the eyebrow area to create a plump and defined shape. Thus, cosmetic enhancements (such as false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, or enhancing eyebrows) can take time and money to apply, and consumers may desire cosmetic enhancement applications to last long.

Consumers with these cosmetic enhancements may be warned not to wet the enhancements. The water may deteriorate the glue used to apply the eyelash extensions or may deteriorate the eyelash extensions themselves. For example, water may also degrade inks used in semi-permanent eyebrow applications. In addition, water may make eyelash extensions or false eyelashes heavy and may create unwanted residue on the cosmetic enhancement. Thus, frequent contact with water may degrade the cosmetic enhancement over time.

Cosmetic enhancements, such as false eyelashes, extended eyelashes, or enhanced eyebrows, may last longer and require less maintenance if kept dry and clean. Furthermore, these types of cosmetic enhancements, if kept dry, can avoid infection and breakage. In the long term, a cosmetic enhancement that remains dry may promote longer aesthetic functions and save money for the consumer. Thus, keeping the cosmetic enhancement dry may facilitate longer cosmetic enhancement life and save money for the consumer.

In order to maintain the longer function and aesthetics of a cosmetic augment (such as an applied false eyelash, eyelash extension, or enhancing eyebrows), consumers may take steps to keep the cosmetic augment dry. The consumer may take these steps in certain situations, such as during a shower or when the consumer's face may otherwise be exposed to water. For example, exemplary embodiments of the present invention may include a device that is wearable, or otherwise in communication with a person's face, and that may protect the cosmetic enhancement from water during a shower. For example, in an embodiment, the protective device may perform an umbrella-like function when exposed to water. In the most general sense, umbrellas can protect people when exposed to inclement weather, such as to minimize contact with rain. The shape of the umbrella may support additional functions such as removing or deflecting rain from a person. Water does not stay on the umbrella. Similarly, exemplary embodiments of the present invention may perform at least one of these two functions: (1) minimizing contact between the cosmetic enhancement and water; and (2) deflecting water from the vicinity of the cosmetic enhancement. Thus, the device according to the invention may perform an umbrella-like function to protect the cosmetic enhancement when exposed to water.

As described herein above, water can cause damage to cosmetic enhancements such as false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, or enhanced eyebrows. In exemplary embodiments, the protective device of the present invention may minimize contact between the cosmetic enhancement and, for example, an overhead liquid (such as shower water), and may deflect water away from the wearer's face. For example, in embodiments, the protective device of the present invention may include a headband, a shield, a left ear piece or arm, and a right ear piece or arm. Any of these elements, any combination of these elements, or all of these elements in combination may function to minimize contact between the cosmetic enhancement and, for example, water, and may function to deflect water away from the wearer's face. In embodiments, for example, the materials, shapes, and respective locations of these elements may serve to minimize contact between the cosmetic enhancement and the water, and may serve to deflect the water away from the wearer's face. For example, in embodiments, a combination of these elements may function and adjust to form a watertight seal between the protective device of the present invention and the wearer's face. Thus, for example, the protective device of the present invention may, among other things, minimize contact between the cosmetic enhancement and water. Thus, the elements of the protective device may minimize contact between overhead liquid and the wearer's face and may deflect liquid from the wearer's face.

For example, in an alternative embodiment, the protective device of the present invention may comprise a single piece shield that may include both a headband portion and a shield portion, a left ear piece or arm, and a right ear piece or arm. For example, in an embodiment, the single-piece shield can include a shape such that adjusting and stretching the single-piece shield can form the headband portion and the deflecting element portion from the single-piece shield. In other words, in embodiments, tension created across the stretchable material of the single-piece shield can bend the single-piece shield and can form the headband portion and the deflecting element portion in communication with the headband portion. Thus, the headband portion and the deflecting element portion in communication with the headband portion can be formed by creating tension on the single-piece shield.

In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device may create a watertight seal with the wearer's face (such as at the facial skin or facial side over the facial cosmetic enhancement). In embodiments, the water-tight seal may minimize shower water leakage, for example, between the protective device and the wearer's face. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device may create a watertight seal at a location above the wearer's eyebrows and extend at least a horizontal length across the wearer's eyebrows. For example, in an embodiment, the protective device may create a water-tight seal that extends across the forehead of the wearer and horizontally beyond the eyebrows of the wearer. In an exemplary embodiment, the headband or headband portion may expand the width of the wearer's forehead and the headband or headband portion may form a watertight seal with the wearer's forehead. For example, in embodiments, the headband or headband portion can create a watertight seal based on its material, its shape, or its position relative to the wearer's face or relative to the earpieces. For example, in an embodiment, the headband or headband portion may be tapered. For example, in another embodiment, the headband or headband portion can comprise a stretch material, such as a four-way stretch material. For example, in an embodiment, the headband or one-piece shield may comprise foam. In embodiments, the protective device may create a watertight seal that spans from a point on the left side of the wearer's face and across the wearer's face to a point on the right side of the wearer's face. For example, in an embodiment, the water-tight seal may span from a point external to one ear to a point external to a second ear. In this way, the protection means may provide protection against water leakage from the ear to the ear. Thus, the protective device of the present invention can create a watertight seal across at least some aspect of the wearer's face.

In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device of the present invention may include arms or ears on each side of the wearer's face; each arm may extend a distance from an outer point of the eyebrow to the ear, and may communicate with or be attached to one side of the headband or one-piece shield. In an exemplary embodiment, as described above, the headband or one-piece shield can be expanded across the eyebrows of the wearer. In view of this, for example, the left arm may extend from an outer point on the left eyebrow to a location on the left ear, and the right arm may extend from an outer point on the right eyebrow to a location on the right ear. For example, in an embodiment, an outer point on the left eyebrow can be near the left eyebrow or can be near the left ear. Similarly, in an exemplary embodiment, the outer point on the right eyebrow can be near the right eyebrow or can be near the right ear. Thus, the protective device of the present invention can include a left ear piece and a right ear piece, both of which communicate with a headband or a one-piece shield, and each of which can extend from a point on the wearer's face to a point on the wearer's ear.

In an exemplary embodiment, each arm (also referred to herein as an earpiece) may be shaped to position the arm relative to the ear. Additionally, in exemplary embodiments, each arm may be used to create a watertight seal. For example, the right arm may form a right seal between the protective device and the right side of the face, and the left arm may form a left seal between the protective device and the left side of the face. In an exemplary embodiment, the left and right arm structures may use friction, suction, compression, or any combination thereof to create the left and right seals, respectively. In another embodiment, the left and right arm structures, in combination with the material used for the arm structures and the headband or one-piece shield, can create a watertight seal across the forehead of the wearer. In an embodiment, the watertight seal may extend from a point on the left arm structure to a point on the right arm structure. For example, in an embodiment, each ear piece can be used to pull a headband or one-piece shield tightly against the wearer's face in a position behind each ear. Thus, in embodiments, for example, the earpieces help the headband or one-piece shield form a secure, water-tight seal with the wearer. In an exemplary embodiment, the left and right arm structures may include hinges. In an exemplary embodiment, the right and left seals may support creating a watertight seal above the right and left eyebrows, between the protective device and the forehead or face of the wearer. In an embodiment, for example, as described above, each arm in combination with a headband can create a watertight seal with a portion of a wearer's face. Thus, the protective device of the present invention may create a watertight seal, and the watertight seal may extend across the forehead and sides of the face of the wearer.

In an embodiment, the protection device may comprise a one-piece shield, as described above. As described above, the single-piece shield can be bent to form the headband portion and the deflecting element portion. As described above, the protective device of the present invention may engage at least one of the right and left ears, or the right and left arm structures, and the one-piece shield may be secured to or around the right and left ears, respectively, of the wearer. In an embodiment, the process of securing the left and right ears can create tension across the headband portion of the single-piece shield and, thus, can conform the headband portion to the face of the wearer. As such, in embodiments, for example, the ear pieces can help the headband portion form a secure, water-tight seal with the wearer. Accordingly, the protective device of the present invention may include a headband portion that may form a water-tight seal with the skin of a wearer.

In an exemplary embodiment, the deflecting element portion of the one-piece shield may be shaped to capture or deflect shower water, for example, overhead, and may move the water away from the wearer's face or cosmetic enhancement. In an exemplary embodiment, the deflecting element portion may comprise a slightly or substantially curved shape. The protective device of the invention may therefore comprise a one-piece shield which, when stretched, can be sealed watertight to the face of the wearer, while forming the deflecting element.

In another exemplary embodiment, the left and right arm structures may include an elastic material, or a material having elastic properties, that may tighten a headband or one-piece shield across at least a portion of the forehead. This tightening can adjust the headband or one-piece shield and enhance the water-tight seal between the forehead portion and the device. The left arm elastic material may be tightened around the left ear and the right arm elastic material may be tightened around the right ear. Similarly, these tightening actions may tighten the water-tight seal across the wearer's forehead. In embodiments, these tightening actions may tighten the water-tight seal across a distance from near the left ear, across the forehead, to near the right ear of the protective device wearer. In an exemplary embodiment, any seal created between the protective device and the wearer's face may support the anti-skid device function. The protective device according to the invention can thus create a watertight seal between the protective device and the face of the wearer.

In an exemplary embodiment, the left and right arms may wrap around the left and right ears, respectively. In an embodiment, left and right arms in communication with the headband or headband portion of the single-piece shield can adjust the headband or single-piece shield and completely surround the left and right ears, respectively. For example, in an embodiment, the left ear piece may comprise material surrounding the left ear and the right ear piece may comprise material surrounding the right ear. In an embodiment, the material may comprise, for example, an elastic tube. In an exemplary embodiment, the elastic tube ear piece may become engaged or tensioned when positioned around each ear. For example, in an embodiment, the engaged earpieces can pull the headband or headband portion of the one-piece shield of the protective device of the present invention and stretch and adjust the headband or one-piece shield. As a result, the ear pieces can create tension on the headband stretchable material or the headband portion stretchable material, for example, when wrapped around the wearer's ears. For example, the generated tension may create a watertight seal between the stretchable and adjustable material and the wearer's face. Thus, the protective device of the invention may comprise a ring-shaped earpiece.

In embodiments, the elastic tube for the ear piece can be sized to support the creation of a watertight seal between the headband or headband portion of the single-piece shield and the wearer's face. In an embodiment, the left and right arm structures may comprise, for example, an elastic tube in communication with a clip mechanism that can attach and adjust the size of the elastic tube to the headband or headband portion of the one-piece shield. The adjusted tube adjusts the headband or one-piece shield to the face of the wearer. Thus, the protective device can include left and right earpieces in communication with the headband or the single-piece shield and can be adjusted to create tension on the headband or headband portion of the single-piece shield.

As described herein above, in exemplary embodiments, the protective devices of the present disclosure can deflect water from nearby cosmetic enhancements, such as shower water. For example, in an embodiment, a protective device according to the invention may comprise a water deflecting element, such as a shield. For example, in embodiments, the shield may include a curved shape, a rim, a drainage channel, or any combination thereof, which may support moving water. In an exemplary embodiment, the water deflecting element (such as a rim) may be long and wide. For example, in an embodiment, the shield may extend across the forehead of the wearer and may further extend to a point near or above the right ear and to a point near or above the left ear. The shield may mimic the draping function in front of the wearer's face, to the left of the wearer's face and to the right of the wearer's face. The drape function may distribute shower water or other water originating over the wearer's face away from the wearer's cosmetic enhancement. As mentioned above, the shield may be secured to or around the right and left ears of the wearer with the aid of the right and left ear pieces or the right and left arm structures. The deflecting element may capture, for example, shower water and may move the water away from the cosmetic enhancement of the wearer. Thus, the protection device according to the invention can deflect water away from the wearer's face.

In another exemplary embodiment of the invention, the protective device may comprise a material that may minimize potential contact between the cosmetic enhancement and, for example, shower water. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device may include a water resistant material that deflects the communicated water, such as shower water, away from the protective device. Similarly, the protective device may include an antiperspirant material that can deflect communicated perspiration or other liquid away from the protective device. For example, in an embodiment, the elements of the protective device may comprise foam. Thus, the protection device according to the invention may comprise a material which deflects the liquid.

Consumers interested in minimizing damage to cosmetic enhancements may also be interested in minimizing damage to the protective devices of the present invention. For example, in an embodiment, the protection device according to the present invention may comprise a mildewproof material. In another exemplary embodiment, the protective device may include a vapor or fog resistant material. Thus, the protective means according to the invention may comprise a material which is easy to use and long-lasting.

In another exemplary embodiment, the protective device of the present invention can be adjusted to accommodate different facial shapes and sizes. Further, in embodiments, the protective device may comprise durable, portable, or reusable materials and structures. For example, in an embodiment, the protective device may comprise a flexible material. Thus, the protection device according to the invention may comprise a flexible material.

A device for protecting a cosmetic enhancement may include a shield-like structure. Fig. 1 illustrates a side view of a protective device (100) according to the invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (100) can include a headband (110), a shield (120), a left earpiece (130), and a right earpiece (140). The headband (110) may include a top portion (112) and a bottom portion (114). In an exemplary embodiment, the headband (110) may comprise a uniform band across at least the forehead or face of the wearer. In other words, the width (116) between the top (112) and bottom (114) of the headband (110) may be uniform from the left side (117) to the right side (118). Thus, the protection device according to the invention may comprise a headband.

As described above, in an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (100) may include a shield (120). For example, in an embodiment, shroud (120) may include a top portion (122) and a bottom portion (124). The width (126) of the shield (120) can include the distance between the top (122) and bottom (124) of the shield (120). The width (126) may be uniform from the left side (127) to the right side (128) of the shield (120). In an exemplary embodiment, the left side (127) of the shield (120) and the right side (128) of the shield (120) can extend to the left arm (130) and the right arm (140), respectively, or at least communicate with the left arm (130) and the right arm (140). Thus, the shield element on the protective device according to the invention can deflect water away from the cosmetic enhancement of the wearer, and this deflection can occur from the right side of the wearer's face, across the forehead of the wearer, to the left side of the wearer's face.

In an exemplary embodiment, the shield (120) may include a tapered shape. In other words, the width (126) at one side (either the left side (127) or the right side (128)) may be less than the other width (126) of the shield (120). The bottom (114) of headband (110) may communicate with the top (122) of shield (120). The headband (110) and the shield (120) communicate at a seam (150). The protection device according to the invention may therefore comprise a shield.

As described herein above, in an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (100) may include a left earpiece (130) and a right earpiece (140). The left earpiece (130) may communicate with the headband (110) at a left side (117) of the headband (110). Similarly, in an exemplary embodiment, the right earpiece (140) may communicate with the headband (110) at a right side (118) of the headband (110). In an exemplary embodiment, the left ear piece (130) and the right ear piece (140) may each form a hook-like shape to fit the left ear and the right ear, respectively, of the wearer. The shape of the ear piece of the invention can support the correct positioning of the protection device (100) on the wearer. Additionally, in exemplary embodiments, the shape of the ear pieces may enhance the watertight seal created between the protective device (100) and the wearer's face. In an exemplary embodiment, the hook-like shape may allow for ease of donning and support a water-tight seal between the headgear (110) and the forehead or face of the wearer. The protective device according to the invention can thus have shaped ears.

Fig. 2 illustrates a side view of a protective device (200) for use on a wearer according to the present invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (200) may include a headband (210), a shield (220), a left earpiece (230), and a right earpiece (not shown). As shown on the wearer, the headgear (210) may communicate directly with the wearer's face at the seal (250). In an exemplary embodiment, the seal (250) may extend the total distance from the left side (217) of the headband (210) to the right side (not shown) of the headband (210). In alternative embodiments, the seal (250) may extend less or more than the total distance from the left side (217) of the headband (210) to the right side (not shown) of the headband (210). In alternative embodiments, for example, the seal may extend from the left ear piece (230) to the right ear piece (not shown), or may extend from a point proximate the left ear piece (230) to a point proximate the right ear piece (not shown). The shield (220) may extend a distance (260) beyond the length of a cosmetic augment, such as an eyelash extension, or an augmented eyebrow. The left ear piece (230) may be in full or dotted communication with the left ear of the wearer. Similarly, a right ear piece (not shown) may be in full or point communication with the right ear of the wearer. Thus, the protection device according to the invention may communicate directly with the face or forehead of the wearer.

Fig. 3 illustrates a perspective view of a protective device (300) according to the present invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (300) of the present invention may include a one-piece shield (305). In an exemplary embodiment, the single piece shield (305) may include a top side (310), a bottom side (not shown), a left edge (320), a right edge (330), a front edge (340), and a rear edge (not shown). Although a single piece of material, the single piece shield (305) may comprise different widths. As described above with reference to fig. 1 and 2, the shield can similarly include different widths, as described herein. For example, the single-piece shield can include a first width (350), a second width (360), and a third width (370). In an exemplary embodiment, the second width (360) is greater than each of the first width (350) and the third width (370). As a result, in an exemplary embodiment, a single piece shield (305), or the shield depicted in fig. 1 and 2, can be formed into a curved shape. Thus, the protective means of the invention may comprise a curved shape.

For example, in an embodiment, the single-piece shield (305) may also include a left element (380) and a right element (390). The left side element (380) and the right side element (390) may communicate with the wearer's face on the left and right sides, respectively. In an embodiment, the left element (380) may include a left width (382) and a left length (385), and the right element (390) may include a right width (392) and a right length (395). The left width (382), left length (385), right width (392), and right length (395) may include dimensions for comfort, size, tension, or any combination thereof. Other criteria may be considered in determining the size of the left element (380) and the right element (390), and are considered herein. As described above with reference to fig. 1 and 2, the headband may similarly include left and right side elements, as described herein. Thus, the protective device of the present invention may comprise a left side element and a right side element such that the protective device fits against the sides of the wearer's face.

As described herein above, in an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (300) of the present disclosure may include a single-piece shield (305), and the single-piece shield (305) may include a leading edge (340) and a trailing edge (not shown). In an exemplary embodiment, the leading edge (340) may include a leading edge thickness (345) and the trailing edge (not shown) may include a trailing edge thickness (not shown). In an exemplary embodiment, the leading edge thickness may be substantially similar in size to the trailing portion thickness. In alternative embodiments, the anterior thickness may be slightly similar or dissimilar, such as smaller, relative to the posterior thickness. In an embodiment, for example, the thickness (325) of the left edge (320) or the thickness (335) of the right edge (330) may be substantially similar in size to the front edge thickness (345). In alternative embodiments, the thickness (325) of the left edge (320) or the thickness (335) of the right edge (330) may be slightly similar or dissimilar, such as smaller, relative to the front edge thickness (345). Each of the thickness (325) of the left edge (320), the thickness (325) of the right edge (335), the front edge thickness (345), or the rear edge thickness (not shown) may be determined based on the material properties of the single-piece shield (305), user comfort, single-piece shield dimensions, or any combination thereof. These thickness considerations are not meant to be limiting. Other considerations for the thickness dimension of the one-piece shield material are taken into account. As described above with reference to fig. 1 and 2, the headband and the blinder can similarly comprise different thicknesses, as described herein. Thus, the protective device according to the invention can stretch and conform to the face of the user, taking into account the thickness dimension.

Fig. 4 shows a top view of a protective device (400) according to the invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (400) may include a single piece shield (410), a left earpiece (420), and a right earpiece (430). The single-piece shield (410) may include a top side (412) and a bottom side (not shown). In an embodiment, the protection device (400) of the present invention may include a middle section (440), a left element (450), and a right element (460). As described above with reference to fig. 3, at least the intermediate section (440) may form a shape. In an exemplary embodiment, the first width (442) and the third width (446) are less than the second width (444). As a result, the intermediate section (440) may form a curved shape. In an embodiment, the left side element (450) can include a left side connection mechanism (455) that can connect the left earpiece (420) to the single piece shield (410). In an embodiment, the right element (460) can include a right attachment mechanism (465) that can attach the right earpiece (430) to the single piece shield (410). Thus, the protective device of the present invention can include a one-piece shield and an earpiece in communication with the one-piece shield.

In an exemplary embodiment, the left ear piece (420) and the right ear piece (430) may each form a loop shape to fit the left ear and the right ear, respectively, of the wearer. The shape of the ear piece of the invention can support the correct positioning of the protection device (400) on the wearer. For example, in embodiments, the annular shape may allow for ease of donning and support in forming a watertight seal between the single piece shield (410) and the wearer's forehead or face. The protective device according to the invention can thus have shaped ears.

Fig. 5 illustrates a perspective view of a protective device (500) for use on a wearer according to the present invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (500) may include a single-piece shield (510), a left earpiece (not shown), a right earpiece (520), a left side element (not shown), and a right side element (530). As shown on the wearer, the one-piece shield (510) may communicate with the wearer's face along a surface, and this communication may create a sealing surface (540) between the wearer's skin and the protective device (500). In an exemplary embodiment, the sealing surface (540) may extend the total distance from the left element (not shown) of the single-piece shield (510) to the right element (530) of the single-piece shield (510). In alternative embodiments, the sealing surface (540) may extend less than or greater than the total distance from the left element (not shown) of the single-piece shield (510) to the right element (530) of the single-piece shield (510). In alternative embodiments, for example, the sealing surface (540) may extend from the left ear piece (not shown) to the right ear piece (520), or may extend from a point proximate to the left ear piece (not shown) to a point proximate to the right ear piece (520). For example, in embodiments, the single piece shield (510) may form a sealing surface (540) that may extend the length of a cosmetic enhancement, such as an eyelash extension, or an enhanced eyebrow, or further than the cosmetic enhancement, such as to the side of the wearer's face. Thus, the protective device of the present invention can create a water-tight sealing surface that can extend the length of the cosmetic enhancement, or can extend from the left ear to the right ear, or any desired length.

The left ear piece (not shown) may be in full or point communication with the left ear of the wearer. Similarly, the right ear piece (520) may be in full or point communication with the right ear of the wearer. For example, in an embodiment, the left ear piece (not shown) or the right ear piece (520) may each form a loop, and each loop may be in communication with an ear. In an embodiment, each ring may be in communication with a single-piece shield (510) at a connection mechanism. For example, in an embodiment, a left earpiece (not shown) may communicate with the one-piece shield (510) at a left side element (not shown) via a left connection unit (not shown). In an embodiment, the right ear (520) may similarly communicate with the one-piece shutter (510) at the right element (530) via a right connection unit (550). In an exemplary embodiment, each connection unit may allow personalization of the earpiece. In other words, in embodiments, the left connection unit (not shown) may allow adjustment of the left earpiece (not shown) to stretch the one-piece shield (510) to create a watertight seal at the sealing surface (540). In an embodiment, the right connection unit (550) may similarly allow adjustment of the right ear piece (520) to stretch the one-piece shield (510) to create a watertight seal at the sealing surface (540). Thus, the protective device of the present invention may include elements that can adjust the earpiece element.

In an exemplary embodiment, the protective device (500) of the present invention may conform to the face of a wearer and, as such, may create a sealing surface (540). In one exemplary embodiment, fitting can include stretching the single piece shield (510) across the wearer's face by pulling on the left (not shown) and right (520) ears of the single piece shield (510) material. In an exemplary embodiment, the process of stretching the single-piece shield (510) can produce a bend (560) in the single-piece shield (510) based on the shape of the single-piece shield (510). In an embodiment, the bend (560) forms the one-piece shield (510) into two sections: a headband portion (570) that may form a sealing surface (540); and a deflecting element portion (580) that can direct shower water or other overhead fluid away from a cosmetic enhancement of the wearer. In other words, in exemplary embodiments of the protective device of the present invention, the engaging ear can stretch and form a bend in the single-piece shield. Thus, the protective device of the present invention can include a single-piece shield, and the single-piece shield can be bent to form the headband portion and the deflecting element portion.

Fig. 6 illustrates a flow chart (600) showing the protection of a cosmetic enhancement according to the present invention. In an exemplary embodiment, the protective cosmetic enhancement (600) can include a first ear piece (610) engaged on a first side of the band in communication with the stretchable band and a second ear piece (620) engaged on a second side of the band in communication with the stretchable band. In an exemplary embodiment, the left ear piece can be engaged by positioning the left ear piece over the left ear of the wearer. Similarly, in an exemplary embodiment, the right ear piece can be engaged by positioning the right ear piece over the right ear of the wearer. In an embodiment, the protective cosmetic enhancement (600) may further comprise a stretch stretchable band (630). As described above, the material for the protective device may include a stretchable material, such as a four-way stretchable material. In an exemplary embodiment, engaging the left and right ear pieces may substantially create tension across the stretchable band by adjusting and pulling the stretchable band across the forehead of the wearer, and adjusting and pulling the protective device of the present invention on the left ear of the wearer and on the right ear of the wearer. In an exemplary embodiment, protecting the cosmetic enhancement (600) may further comprise forming a seal (640) between the stretched stretchable band and the wearer. For example, in embodiments, the methods of the present invention can create a water-tight seal between the protective device of the present invention and the wearer's skin, over the cosmetic enhancement, and on the sides of the wearer's face. In an exemplary embodiment, protecting the cosmetic enhancement (600) may further include using a deflection element in communication with the stretchable band to deflect liquid (650) from the wearer. Thus, protecting the cosmetic enhancement may include creating a water-tight seal on the wearer's skin and diverting liquid from the wearer via the protective device.

As described above with reference to fig. 1-5, the deflecting element may be a preformed element in communication with the headband. In an alternative embodiment, the method of the present invention can include forming the headband portion and the deflecting element portion by creating tension on a single-piece shield. As described above, the method of the present invention can include creating tension on the single-piece shield by engaging the left and right earpieces. The method of the present invention may further comprise forming the headband portion and the deflecting element portion by bending a tension-filled, one-piece shield. Thus, protecting the cosmetic enhancement according to the invention may comprise creating a water-tight seal on the skin of the wearer and diverting liquid from the wearer using a protective device comprising a single-piece shield.
