1. A feeding system for feeding animals (9), in particular dairy cattle, comprising:

-a feed storage system (7) for storing feed for the animals (9),

-an autonomous feeding device (10) for feeding the animals (9) with feed from the feed storage system (7), wherein the feeding device (10) is provided with a container (12) for receiving a batch of feed,

-a feed loading device (20) for loading feed from the feed storage system (7) into a container (12) of the autonomous feeding device (10), wherein the feed loading device (20) is provided with a feed gripper (24) comprising two grabs (41, 42) which can be articulated between an open position and a closed position, and wherein the feed gripper (24) is provided with an actuating device for actuating the grabs (41, 42) from the open position to the closed position,

characterized in that the actuating device is provided with a rotatably driven roll-up body (60) connected to one of the grapples (41) and comprising a winding circumference, and an arm (61) connected between the roll-up body (60) and the other grapple (42), wherein the arm (61) comprises a plurality of arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) hingedly connected to each other, which are made of stainless steel or a material having substantially the same strength and corrosion resistance as stainless steel, wherein in the open position of the grapples (41, 42) the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) extend substantially in line with each other, and wherein the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) are wound from the open position of the grapples (41, 42) around the winding circumference of the roll-up body when the roll-up body (60) is rotatably driven, in order to pull the grapple (41, 42) towards the closed position, and wherein the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) are configured in such a way that the winding circumference of the roll-up body (60) can be substantially completely covered by at most 8 arm sections, preferably at most 6 arm sections, in particular 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 arm sections.

2. The feeding system according to claim 1, wherein the grapple (41, 42) and/or the roll-up body (60) and/or the arm (61) are all made of stainless steel or a material having substantially the same strength and corrosion resistance as stainless steel.

3. The feeding system according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the roll-up body (60) performs more than 1 turn, such as substantially 1.5 turns, when the grapple (41, 42) is moved from the open position to the closed position, and wherein only one further arm section (65) extends on top of or beside the roll-up body (60) after its winding circumference is substantially entirely covered by the plurality of arm sections (62, 63, 64).

The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein each arm section (62, 63, 64, 65) has a pitch length (s1, s2) determined by the distance between the two hinge axes (67) of the arm section (62, 63, 64, 65), and wherein the sum of the pitch lengths (s1) of the arm section (62) connected to the roll-up body (60) and the adjacent 2 or 3 arm sections (63, 64) is substantially equal to or greater than the winding circumference of the roll-up body (60) in order to substantially completely cover the roll-up body (60) in the closed position.

The feeding system according to claim 4, wherein a pitch length (s1) of an arm section (62) connected to the roll-up body (60) and a pitch length (s1) of the adjacent arm section (62, 63) which together substantially completely cover the winding circumference in the closed position of the grapple (41, 42) are substantially equal to each other, wherein the pitch length (s2) of a following arm section (65) is larger than the pitch length (s1) of an arm section (62) connected to the roll-up body (60).

The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the roll-up body (60) is provided with a winding core (69) determining the winding circumference and a crank arm (71) attached to the winding core (69) and projecting radially with respect to the winding core (69), and wherein an arm section (62) connected to the roll-up body (60) is hingedly connected to the crank arm (71), and wherein the arm section (62, 63, 64, 65) is wound around the winding core (69) from the open position of the grapple (41, 42) when the roll-up body (60) is rotatably driven.

7. The feeding system according to claim 6, wherein the winding core (69) comprises a substantially cylindrical outer surface (70), and wherein arm sections (62, 63, 64) wound from an open position of the grapple (41, 42) around the winding core (69) and in contact with the outer surface (70) on a longitudinal side thereof when the roll-up body (60) is rotatably driven are provided with longitudinal edges (72) on the longitudinal side, the edges having a shape at least partially corresponding to the outer surface (70).

The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the feed gripper (24) is suspended from a crane (22) so as to be vertically displaceable by means of a lifting device (50) comprising a first electric motor (52) fitted to the crane (22), and wherein the actuating device for actuating the grabs (41, 42) from the open position to the closed position is provided with a second electric motor (53) fitted to the crane (22), and a transmission for transmitting a driving torque from the second electric motor (53) to a roll-up body (60) connected to one of the grabs (41).

9. The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein each grapple (41, 42) comprises a grapple bottom (45) having a bottom edge (46), and wherein each grapple (41, 42) is provided with grapple side walls (47) extending on either side of the grapple bottom (45) of the grapple (41, 42), wherein each grapple side wall (47) is delimited by side edges (48), wherein the bottom edge (46) of the grapple bottom (45) and the side edges (48) of the grapple side walls (47) substantially abut each other in the closed position of the grapple (41, 42).

10. The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the feed storage system (7) comprises a plurality of feed storage locations (19) separated from each other, wherein the feed gripper (24) is arranged above the feed storage locations (19) so as to be displaceable in a substantially horizontal plane and substantially vertically so as to grip in each case a quantity of feed from one of the feed storage locations (19) and transfer it to a container (12) of the autonomous feeding device (10) so as to load it with a batch of feed for the animal (9).

11. The feeding system according to one or more of claims 1-9, wherein the feed gripper is integrated with the autonomous feeding device.

12. The feeding system according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the feeding system (1) comprises at least one feed pen (31) for feeding the animals (9), and wherein the feeding apparatus (10) is configured to autonomously move a batch of feed contained in the container (12) from the feed storage system (7) to the feed pen (31) and autonomously distribute and/or meter the feed along the feed pen (31).

13. A feed gripper comprising two grabs (41, 42) which can be articulated between an open position and a closed position, wherein the feed gripper (24) is provided with actuating means for actuating the grabs (41, 42) from the open position into the closed position, characterized in that the actuating means are provided with a rotatably driven roll-up body (60) which is connected to one of the grabs (41) and comprises a winding circumference, and an arm (61) which is connected between the roll-up body (60) and the other grabs (42), wherein the arm comprises a plurality of mutually hingedly connected arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) which are made of stainless steel or a material having substantially the same strength and corrosion resistance as stainless steel, wherein in the open position of the grabs (41, 42), the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) extend substantially in line with each other, and wherein the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) are wound from an open position of the grapple (41, 42) around a winding circumference of the roll-up body when the roll-up body (60) is rotatably driven, in order to pull the grapple (41, 42) towards the closed position, and wherein the arm sections (62, 63, 64, 65) are configured such that the winding circumference of the roll-up body (60) can be substantially completely covered by at most 8 arm sections, preferably at most 6 arm sections, in particular 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 arm sections.

14. A feed gripper according to claim 13, wherein the feed gripper (24) is configured according to one or more of claims 2-9.

15. Method for keeping animals (9), in particular cows, by means of a keeping system (1) according to one or more of claims 1 to 12, and wherein the method comprises the following steps:

a) -gripping a quantity of feed from the feed storage system (7) by means of the feed gripper (24), and moving the feed gripper (24) with the gripped feed until it is above a container (12) of the rearing device (10) in order to introduce the feed into the container (12),

b) repeating step a) to load a batch of feed into the receptacle (12) of the feeding device (10),

c) moving the feeding device (10) containing the batch of feed in the container (12) autonomously towards the animal (9).
