1. A linear actuator system comprising:

at least one electric linear actuator;

an electric motor for driving the linear actuator;

a controller for controlling operation of the electric motor;

at least one user control unit (1);

at least one electric cord comprising at least one plug (2) for connecting the user control unit (1) and the controller;

wherein the controller or user control unit (1) comprises a socket (1a) for receiving the plug (2),

the method is characterized in that:

the linear actuator system comprising a locking ring (5), the locking ring (5) being rotatably arranged with respect to the plug (2),

the socket (1a) comprising an opening (16) for receiving a plug (2) comprising the locking ring (5),

the socket (1a) comprising an aperture (4) through which a portion of the locking ring (5) is accessible when the plug (2) comprising the locking ring (5) is engaged with the socket (1a),

the locking ring (5) comprising at least one protrusion (8a, 8b), the opening (16) of the socket (1a) comprising at least one recess,

the at least one recess comprising an axial portion (12a, 12b) and a radial portion (12c, 12d),

the locking ring (5) and the opening (16) of the socket are adapted to enable the locking ring (5) to be rotated between a first, unlocked position and a second, locked position when inserted in the opening (16),

in a first, unlocked position, the at least one projection (8a, 8b) is received in and aligned with the axial portion (12a, 12b) of the recess to enable the plug (2) to be freely inserted into or removed from the socket (1a), and

in a second, locked position, the at least one projection (8a, 8b) engages with a radial portion (12c, 12d) of the recess, thereby preventing the plug head (2) from being pulled out.

2. The linear actuator system as set forth in claim 1 wherein: the length of the bore (4) extending in the radial direction corresponds to the distance between a first, unlocked position and a second, locked position of the locking ring (5).

3. Linear actuator system according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that: the locking ring (5) comprises a groove (6), the groove (6) being accessible through the aperture (4).

Linear actuator system according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that: the plug (2) comprises a recess (5b), the locking ring (5) comprises an opening between a first end (10a) and a second end (10b), the opening of the locking ring is smaller than the diameter of the recess (5b) of the locking ring, and the locking ring (5) is made of an elastic material, whereby the width of the opening of the locking ring between the first end (10a) and the second end (10b) can be widened to be at least equal to the diameter of the recess (5b) of the locking ring.

Linear actuator system according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that: the locking ring (5) is provided with an inwardly extending protrusion (8c) and the recess (5b) of the plug (2) is provided with a first slot (8c1) and a second slot (8c2), wherein the first slot (8c1) is adapted to receive the protrusion (8c) when the locking ring is in the second, locked position and the second slot (8c2) is adapted to receive the protrusion (8c) when the locking ring is in the first, unlocked position.

6. The linear actuator system as set forth in claim 1 wherein: the width of the hole (4) extending in the axial direction is less than 5 mm, preferably less than 3 mm.

7. The linear actuator system as set forth in claim 1 wherein: the controller can be arranged in a separate housing or integrated in/with the linear actuator.

Linear actuator system according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that: the plug (2) comprises an electrical connector (18), a circular sealing ring recess (7) and a sealing ring (20), wherein the circular sealing ring recess (7) is arranged between the recess (5b) of the locking ring and the electrical connector (18).

9. The linear actuator system as set forth in claim 8 wherein: the sealing ring (20) comprises two spaced apart outer lips.

10. Linear actuator system according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that: the inner side of the sealing ring (20) is provided with at least two spaced apart protrusions (22) of semi-circular cross-section protruding from its inner circumference.
