Background

Rice is the main food of more than 50% of the population in the world, weeds have great influence on the rice yield, and the annual loss reaches 40-60% of the total loss of the rice yield. Barnyard grass is one of the most harmful weeds in paddy fields, is usually controlled by chemical herbicides, but causes a series of problems such as drug resistance, pesticide residue, crop phytotoxicity and the like to agricultural growth along with long-term use and abuse of the chemical herbicides. On the other hand, with the increasing selection of organic foods by many people, public concern over food-related health risks has increased, which has led to a need for agricultural production to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides. The barnyard grass is often used as a receptor of various natural compounds, and natural compounds or lead compounds for preventing and controlling the barnyard grass are screened, so that green organic production of rice is promoted.

The plant natural compound has the characteristics of high efficiency, low toxicity, low residue and the like, and is often used for developing novel green herbicides and promoting green agricultural production. The dihydrocoumarin is used as a spice and is commonly used in food and cosmetics, and no literature data and related reports for preventing and controlling barnyard grass are found at present.
