9. The tube wrapping apparatus of claim 1 wherein said wear resistant lubricant coating is applied to said protective film carrier bar using chemical vapor deposition, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, or physical vapor deposition techniques.

10. The tube wrapping and packaging machine of claim 1 wherein the portion of said protective film carrier bar located within said column is provided with an elastic fastening sleeve.

Technical Field
