The invention also relates to a polyol component comprising a silicone-free stabilizer (c), to a polyurethane foam obtainable by the inventive method, and to the use of the inventive polyurethane foam in enclosed spaces or in vehicle interiors.)

1. a method of preparing a polyurethane foam comprising mixing

(a) A polyisocyanate,

(b) a polymeric compound having groups reactive with isocyanates,

(c) a stabilizing agent which does not contain silicone,

(d) optionally a chain extender and/or a cross-linker,

(e) a catalyst,

(f) a blowing agent,

(g) optionally an auxiliary agent and an additive,

to obtain a reaction mixture and reacting said reaction mixture to obtain a polyurethane,

wherein the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is obtainable by alkoxylation of 1 to 8 functional starter molecules with alkylene oxides, wherein 0 to 9 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used are ethylene oxide, 0 to 50 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used are 1, 2-propylene oxide, and at least 50 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used comprise at least 4 carbon atoms, and the number average molecular weight of the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is from 500 to 20000g/mol, and wherein the content of silicone-based foam stabilizer is less than 0.3 wt.%, based on the total weight of compounds (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f).

2. The process according to claim 1, wherein at least 90% by weight of the alkylene oxide used in the preparation of the silicone-free stabilizer (c) comprises at least 4 carbon atoms.

3. The process according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the alkylene oxide comprising at least 4 carbon atoms used in the preparation of the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is selected from the group consisting of 1, 2-butylene oxide, 1, 2-pentylene oxide and mixtures thereof.

4. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the average functionality of the starter molecules used for preparing the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is from 1 to 3.

5. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein some or all of the remaining OH groups of the silicone-free stabilizer (c) are blocked after alkoxylation.

6. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the polymeric compound having groups reactive toward isocyanates comprises a polyether alcohol (b1), said polyether alcohol (b1) being obtainable by addition of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide or mixtures thereof to starter molecules, wherein at least 90 mol% of the alkylene oxides used for preparing the polyether alcohol (b1) are selected from ethylene oxide, 1, 2-propylene oxide and mixtures thereof.

7. The process according to claim 6, wherein the proportion of silicone-free foam stabilizer (c) is preferably from 0.01 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of compounds (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f).

8. The method of any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein no silicone-based foam stabilizer is used.

9. The method of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the polyurethane foam is a flexible polyurethane foam having a compressive stress at 10% compression of 15kPa or less and a density of 10 to 100g/L according to DIN 53421/DIN EN ISO 604.

10. The process of any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the catalyst (e) comprises a combinable amine catalyst.

11. A polyol mixture comprising

(b) A polymeric compound having groups reactive with isocyanates,

(c) a stabilizing agent which does not contain silicone,

(d) optionally a chain extender and/or a cross-linker,

(e) a catalyst,

(f) a blowing agent, and

(g) optionally an auxiliary agent and an additive,

wherein the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is obtainable by alkoxylation of 1 to 8 functional starter molecules with alkylene oxides, wherein 0 to 9 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used are ethylene oxide, 0 to 50 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used are 1, 2-propylene oxide, and at least 50 wt.% of the alkylene oxides used comprise at least 4 carbon atoms, and the number-average molecular weight of the silicone-free stabilizer (c) is from 500 to 20000g/mol, and wherein the content of silicone-based foam stabilizer is less than 0.3 wt.%, based on the total weight of compounds (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f).

12. Polyurethane obtainable by the process of any one of claims 1 to 10.

13. Use of the polyurethane according to claim 12 in enclosed spaces or in vehicle interiors.

14. Use according to claim 13 for the production of mattresses or seat cushions or head cushions in vehicles.

15. Silicone-free stabilizers (c) obtainable by alkoxylation of 1 to 8-functional starter molecules with 1, 2-butylene oxide and/or 1, 2-pentylene oxide, wherein at least 50% by weight of the alkylene oxides used are 1, 2-butylene oxide and/or 1, 2-pentylene oxide and the number-average molecular weight of the silicone-free stabilizers (c) is from 500 to 20000 g/mol.
