Coal bed gas (coalbed methane) is commonly called as 'gas', and the main component of the coal bed methane is simply methane which is purer than that of natural gas (also called as oilfield gas). The coal bed gas exists in the coal bed and surrounding rocks thereof in an adsorption and free state. The calorific value is 2 to 5 times of that of general coal, and almost no pollutants are generated after combustion.
