1. A floating pump for pumping a liquid, comprising:

-a pump housing;

a pump element arranged in or on the housing and provided with a fan and operatively connected to a drive,

wherein the pump housing is configured to keep the floating pump substantially completely floating.

2. The floating pump of claim 1, wherein the pump housing is provided with one or more formations that generate an upward force during use.

3. The floating pump of claim 1 or 2, wherein the pump housing comprises an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion.

4. A floating pump according to claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the upper housing portion is provided with a first pump housing portion and a second float portion.

5. The floating pump of claim 4, wherein the second float portion is removably connectable to another portion or portions of the pump housing.

6. The floating pump of any one of the preceding claims, wherein at least a portion of the pump housing is provided with a sandwich structure configured to provide rigidity to the pump housing.

7. The floating pump of claim 5, wherein the sandwich structure comprises a foam material and further comprises a fibrous material.

8. The floating pump of claim 7, wherein the fibrous material comprises glass fibers and/or carbon fibers.

9. The floating pump of any one of the preceding claims, further comprising a removable suction flange.

10. The floating pump of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pump housing is configured to have a displacement element mounted or secured thereon, the displacement element comprising one or more of a slide plate, a wheel, or a load ring.

11. The floating pump of claim 10, wherein said displacement element is secured to said pump housing proximate fasteners between respective housing portions.

12. The floating pump of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pump housing is provided with a bumper arranged substantially all around.

13. The floating pump of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the fan is substantially provided by a plastic material.

14. A pump system comprising a floating pump as claimed in any one of the preceding claims.

15. A method for pumping a liquid, comprising:

-providing a floating pump in a pump system according to any of the preceding claims;

-connecting the pump system; and

-pumping a liquid.
