Background

The cricothyroid membrane is located between the cricoid cartilage and the thyroid cartilage, is a conical elastic fibrous connective tissue membrane, and is a part of the elastic cone in front of the elastic diaphragm of the larynx. The laryngeal elastic membrane is located on the deep surface of the mucous membrane of the laryngeal cavity, belongs to a connective tissue membrane containing elastic fibers, is divided into an upper part and a lower part by a laryngeal chamber, the upper part is called a square membrane, the lower part is called an elastic cone, and the elastic cone starts from the lower part of the inner surface of the horn of the thyroid cartilage and is attached to the inner side of the upper edge of the cricoid cartilage in a fan shape downwards.
