Technical Field

The present disclosure relates to lever-type connectors.

Background

Patent document 1 describes a lever type connector. The rod connector comprises a male housing and a female housing which are fitted to each other, and a rod is attached to the male housing. The male housing is provided with a locking hole, and the rod is provided with an elastic locking piece. The elastic locking piece is provided with a locking part in a protruding way.

In the initial position of the lever, the locking portion of the elastic locking piece is housed in the locking hole of the male housing. In the initial position of the lever, when the lever is about to rotate, the locking portion of the elastic locking piece comes into contact with the side wall of the locking hole of the male housing. This suppresses the lever from being rotationally displaced, and the lever is held at the initial position.

Disclosure of Invention

Problems to be solved by the invention

However, when the lever is strongly pressed in the rotational direction at the initial position of the lever, for example, the locking portion of the elastic locking piece may strongly abut against the side wall of the locking hole of the male housing and ride over the opening edge of the locking hole, thereby causing the lever to be displaced from the initial position.

The present disclosure has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to reliably hold a lever at an initial position.

Detailed Description

< description of embodiments of the present disclosure >

First, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described.

(1) A lever-type connector according to the present disclosure includes a housing to be fitted to a mating housing, and a lever attached to an outer surface of the housing, the lever being rotatable between an initial position and a fitting completion position, the lever being located at the initial position before fitting with the mating housing is started, the lever being located at the fitting completion position when fitting with the mating housing is completed, the lever including: an elastic piece disposed in parallel with an outer surface of the housing and extending in a cantilever manner; and a projecting wall projecting from a peripheral wall surrounding the elastic piece toward the elastic piece, wherein the elastic piece has a locking surface facing toward a base end side of the elastic piece as the elastic piece approaches an outer surface of the housing, the housing has a locked surface facing toward a tip end side of the elastic piece as the housing moves away from the outer surface of the housing, and the elastic piece enters between the projecting wall and the outer surface of the housing when the lever is rotated from the initial position to the engagement completion position in a state where the locking surface and the locked surface are locked.

The locking surface of the elastic piece is locked to the locked surface of the housing, so that the lever can be prevented from rotating from the initial position to the fitting completion position.

Further, when the lever is strongly rotated toward the fitting completion position at the initial position, the locking surface of the elastic piece is about to be disengaged from the locked surface. In this case, the locking surface of the elastic piece is formed in a so-called reverse tapered shape that is inclined so as to be closer to the outer surface of the housing toward the base end side, and therefore, the locking surface can be prevented from coming off from the locked surface. As a result, the elastic piece enters between the projecting wall and the outer surface of the housing, and the projecting wall can also suppress the disengagement of the locking surface from the locked surface, thereby reliably holding the lever at the initial position.

(2) Preferably, the lever has a shaft hole, a shaft portion protruding from an outer surface of the housing is fitted into the shaft hole, and the locking surface is inclined with respect to the locked surface so as to be locked to the locked surface from an outer side distant from the shaft hole at the initial position.

Since the locking surface is provided obliquely with respect to the locking surface so as to be locked to the locked surface from the outside distant from the axial hole, a gap is generated between the locking surface and the locked surface at the initial position, but when the lever is strongly rotated, the elastic piece is pushed in from the outside toward the space between the protruding wall and the outer surface of the housing. When the gap is eliminated and the locking surface and the locked surface are strongly locked, even if a large force is generated to separate the locking surface from the locked surface, the locked state of the locking surface and the locked surface can be maintained.

(3) Preferably, the elastic piece has a pair of side edges and a distal edge connecting distal ends of the pair of side edges to each other, and a proximal end of a side edge of the pair of side edges which is proximal to the projecting wall is located closer to the distal end edge side than a proximal end of a side edge which is distal to the projecting wall.

When the elastic sheet is flexed toward the projecting wall, a tensile load is applied to the side edge far from the projecting wall, and a compressive load is applied to the side edge near the projecting wall. Generally, a resin has a property that it is weaker in tensile load than in compressive load and is easily broken by tensile load. Here, since the base end of the side edge close to the projecting wall is located closer to the distal end edge side than the base end of the side edge far from the projecting wall, the length from the base end to the distal end of the side edge far from the projecting wall is longer than the length from the base end to the distal end of the side edge close to the projecting wall. Therefore, the tensile load applied to the base end of the side edge remote from the projecting wall is dispersed to a wider range. This can suppress the elastic sheet from breaking due to the tensile load.

(4) Preferably, the elastic piece is provided so that an axis passing through the center of the tip end side is farther from the projecting wall than an axis passing through the center of the base end side.

When the elastic piece is strongly stretched along with the rotation of the lever, the axis passing through the center position of the tip end side in the elastic piece approaches the axis passing through the center position of the base end side. Therefore, compared to the case where the axis passing through the center position on the tip end side and the axis passing through the center position on the base end side of the elastic piece are positioned on the same axis, the amount of displacement of the elastic piece becomes large, and the elastic piece is more likely to enter between the projecting wall and the outer surface of the housing.

< details of embodiments of the present disclosure >

Specific examples of the lever-type connector according to the present disclosure will be described below with reference to the drawings. In addition, the present invention is not limited to these illustrations, the scope of the invention is shown by the claims, and it is intended to include any modifications within the meaning and scope equivalent to the claims.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the lever-type connector 10 according to the present embodiment includes a female housing (housing) 14 fitted to a male housing (mating housing) 12, and a lever 18 attached to an outer surface 16 of the female housing 14. The lever 18 is rotatable between an initial position (position of the lever 18 in fig. 2) at which the lever 18 is positioned before the start of fitting of the female housing 14 and the male housing 12, and a fitting completion position (position of the lever 18 in fig. 1) at which the lever 18 is positioned when fitting of the female housing 14 and the male housing 12 is completed. In the following description, the fitting direction of the female housing 14 (the direction from the upper side to the lower side in fig. 1 and 2) is the front in the front-rear direction, and the separating direction is the rear in the front-rear direction. In addition, the direction from the lower surface 16B toward the upper surface 16A in the female housing 14 in fig. 4 is upward in the up-down direction. The direction from the left side to the right side in the drawing shown in fig. 1 and 2 is the right side of the left-right direction.

The female housing 14 is made of synthetic resin and has a flat rectangular parallelepiped shape as a whole as shown in fig. 2 and 4. As shown in fig. 4, a plurality of cavities are provided in the front surface opening of the female housing 14, and female terminals (not shown) are received in the plurality of cavities.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, a shaft portion 20 and a locked portion 22 are provided on an upper surface 16A of the female housing 14, which constitutes an outer surface 16 thereof. As shown in fig. 5, the locked portion 22 is provided to protrude upward from the upper surface 16A. In addition, the shaft portion (not shown) and the locked portion 22 are similarly provided on the lower surface 16B of the female housing 14, which constitutes the outer surface 16 thereof.

As shown in fig. 5, the lever 18 includes a pair of upper and lower arm plates 24, and the pair of arm plates 24 are connected to each other at an operation portion 26. The pair of arm plates 24 are disposed in parallel with the upper surface 16A and the lower surface 16B of the female housing 14, respectively. In the following description of the arm plate 24, only the arm plate 24 located on the upper surface 16A side of the female housing 14 will be described, and since the arm plate 24 located on the lower surface 16B side has the same configuration as the arm plate 24 located on the upper surface 16A side, the same reference numerals as those of the arm plate 24 located on the upper surface 16A side are given in the drawings, and the description thereof will be omitted.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the arm plate 24 is provided with a shaft hole 28 in an opening, the shaft portion 20 of the female housing 14 is fitted into the shaft hole 28, and the lever 18 is rotatable in the rotational directions D1 and D2 about the shaft portion 20 with respect to the female housing 14. Here, the turning direction D1 is a direction in which the lever 18 is moved from the initial position to the fitting completion position, and the turning direction D2 is a direction in which the lever 18 is returned from the fitting completion position to the initial position.

As shown in fig. 1, a slit having a U-shaped cut is provided on the left side of the shaft hole 28 in the arm plate 24, and an elastic piece 30 is formed through the slit. The elastic piece 30 extends in a cantilever shape and can be elastically displaced in the up-down direction. Of the peripheral edges of the elastic sheet 30, the peripheral edges on the left and right sides are a pair of side edges 34, and the peripheral edge of the tip end connecting the pair of side edges 34 to each other is a tip end edge 36.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the arm plate 24 is provided with a peripheral wall 32 surrounding the elastic piece 30. The peripheral wall 32 faces a pair of side edges 34 and a distal edge 36 of the elastic sheet 30. A projecting wall 38 is provided on a peripheral wall 32A on a side closer to the shaft hole 28 of the peripheral walls 32 opposed to the pair of side edges 34 so as to project toward the elastic piece 30. As shown in fig. 7 and 8, the projecting wall 38 is positioned above the elastic piece 30, and the lower surface of the projecting wall 38 is tapered so as to be inclined upward from the base end toward the tip end of the projecting wall 38.

As shown in fig. 12, the base end 34A of the side edge 34 of the pair of side edges 34 of the elastic sheet 30 which is closer to the projecting wall 38 is positioned closer to the distal end edge 36 than the base end 34B of the side edge 34 which is farther from the projecting wall 38. Thus, the length L2 from the base end 34B to the distal end edge 36 is greater than the length L1 from the base end 34A to the distal end edge 36 by a length L3.

As shown in fig. 12, the elastic piece 30 has a shape that is wider from the base ends 34A and 34B toward the leading edge 36, and the axis a1 passing through the center of the elastic piece 30 on the leading edge 36 side is located at a position separated from the axis a2 passing through the center of the elastic piece 30 on the base ends 34A and 34B side by the length L4 in the direction away from the protruding wall 38.

As shown in fig. 5 and 6, a locking portion 40 projecting downward is provided on the distal edge 36 side of the elastic piece 30. The locking portion 40 is provided with an engaging surface 40A, and the engaging surface 40A faces the locked portion 22 in the female housing 14 at the initial position. The locked portion 22 in the female housing 14 is provided with a locked surface 22A, and the locked surface 22A faces the locking surface 40A in the locking portion 40. When the lever 18 is rotated in the rotational direction D1 toward the fitting completion position in the initial position as shown in fig. 2, the locking surface 40A of the lock portion 40 comes into contact with the engaged surface 22A of the locked portion 22 from the rotational direction D1 as shown in fig. 10. Thereby, the locking surface 40A of the locking portion 40 is locked to the locked surface 22A of the locked portion 22, and the lever 18 is prevented from rotating from the initial position toward the fitting completion position.

As shown in fig. 5 and 6, the locking surface 40A has a reverse tapered shape that is inclined so as to be closer to the upper surface 16A of the female housing 14 (downward) toward the proximal end side (left side in fig. 5 and 6) of the elastic piece 30.

As shown in fig. 2, the locking surface 40A is provided obliquely to the locked surface 22A so as to contact the locked surface 22A from the outer side far from the axial hole 28 at the initial position. As a result, as shown in fig. 10, a gap G is generated between the locking surface 40A and the locked surface 22A.

When the male housing 12 is inserted into the female housing 14, an engagement releasing portion (not shown) provided in the male housing 12 pushes up the locking portion 40 of the elastic piece 30, and the locking of the locking portion 40 with respect to the locked portion 22 is released. Thereby, the lever 18 can be rotated in the rotation direction D1. When the lever 18 is rotated in the rotating direction D1, the lever 18 is moved from the initial position to the fitting completion position, and the fitting of the female housing 14 and the male housing 12 is completed.

Next, the lever 18 of the present embodiment is rotated from the initial position to the fitting position as follows.

When the lever 18 is strongly rotated in the rotational direction D1 as shown in fig. 3, the locking surface 40A of the elastic piece 30 strongly comes into contact with the locked surface 22A as shown in fig. 11, and the gap G is eliminated. At this time, the elastic sheet 30 is strongly stretched in the direction D5 (shown in fig. 3) from the base end side toward the tip end side, and the axis a1 on the tip edge 36 side in the elastic sheet 30 approaches the axis a2 on the base end side. As a result, the elastic piece 30 is greatly deflected toward the projecting wall 38, and enters between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface 16A of the female housing 14 as shown in fig. 3 and 8. In this manner, since the axis a1 is located farther from the projecting wall 38 than the axis a2, the elastic piece 30 is more easily deflected toward the projecting wall 38 side than in the case where the axis a1 and the axis a2 are located coaxially.

When the elastic piece 30 is to be displaced upward in a state where the elastic piece 30 enters between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface 16A of the female housing 14, the elastic piece 30 contacts the projecting wall 38 from below, and the upward displacement of the elastic piece 30 can be suppressed. Thus, even when the lever 18 is strongly rotated, the release of the engagement between the engaging surface 40A and the engaged surface 22A in the elastic piece 30 can be suppressed.

In a state where the elastic sheet 30 enters between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface 16A of the female housing 14, a tensile load is applied to the side edge 34B of the elastic sheet 30 which is far from the projecting wall 38, and a compressive load is applied to the base end 34A of the near side edge 34. Generally, a resin has a property that it is weaker in tensile load than in compressive load and is easily broken by tensile load. Here, as shown in fig. 12, the length L2 from the base end 34B to the tip end in the side edge 34 that is farther from the protruding wall 38 is longer than the length L1 from the base end 34A to the tip end in the side edge 34 that is closer to the protruding wall 38, so the tensile load applied to the base end 34B of the side edge 34 that is farther from the protruding wall 38 is dispersed over a wider range. This can suppress the elastic sheet 30 from breaking due to the tensile load.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the locking surface 40A of the elastic piece 30 is locked to the locked surface 22A of the female housing (housing) 14, and thereby the lever 18 can be prevented from rotating from the initial position toward the fitting completion position.

When the lever is strongly rotated toward the fitting completion position at the initial position, the locking surface 40A of the elastic piece 30 is about to be disengaged from the locked surface 22A. At this time, since the locking surface 40A of the elastic piece 30 is formed in a so-called reverse taper shape inclined so as to be closer to the base end side as the upper surface (outer surface) 16A of the female housing (shell) 14 becomes closer, it is possible to suppress the locking surface 40A from being disengaged from the locked surface 22A. As a result, the elastic piece 30 enters between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface (outer surface) 16A of the female housing (casing) 14, and the projecting wall 38 also prevents the locking surface 40A from being disengaged from the locked surface 22A, thereby reliably holding the lever 18 at the initial position.

The lever 18 has a shaft hole 28 into which the shaft 20 is fitted, the shaft 20 is provided so as to project from the upper surface (outer surface) 16A of the female housing (casing) 14, and the locking surface 40A is provided so as to be inclined with respect to the locked surface 22A so as to be locked to the locked surface 22A from the outside far from the shaft hole 28 at the initial position.

With this configuration, since the locking surface 40A is provided so as to be inclined with respect to the locking surface 40A so as to be locked to the locked surface 22A from the outside far from the axis hole 28, a gap G is generated between the locking surface 40A and the locked surface 22A at the initial position, but when the lever 18 is strongly rotated, the elastic piece 30 is pushed in from the outside toward the space between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface 16A of the female housing 14. When the gap G is eliminated and the locking surface 40A and the locked surface 22A are strongly locked, even if a large force is generated to separate the locking surface 40A from the locked surface 22A, the locked state of the locking surface 40A and the locked surface 22A can be maintained.

The elastic sheet 30 has a pair of side edges 34 and a distal edge 36 connecting the distal ends of the pair of side edges 34, and a proximal end 34A of the side edge 34 of the pair of side edges 34 that is closer to the projecting wall is located closer to the distal edge 36 than a proximal end 34B of the side edge 34 that is farther from the projecting wall.

With this configuration, when the elastic sheet 30 is flexed toward the projecting wall 38, a tensile load is applied to the side edge 34 located farther from the projecting wall 38, and a compressive load is applied to the side edge 34 located closer to the projecting wall 38. Generally, a resin has a property that it is weaker in tensile load than in compressive load and is easily broken by tensile load. Here, since the base end 34A of the side edge 34 close to the projecting wall 38 is located closer to the distal end edge 36 than the base end of the side edge 34 far from the projecting wall 38, the length L2 from the base end 34B to the distal end of the side edge 34 far from the projecting wall 38 is longer than the length L1 from the base end 34A to the distal end of the side edge 34 close to the projecting wall 38. Therefore, the tensile load applied to the base end 34B of the side edge 34 that is distal from the projecting wall 38 is dispersed to a wider range. This can suppress the elastic sheet 30 from breaking due to the tensile load.

The elastic piece 30 is provided so that an axis a1 passing through the center of the distal end side is farther from the projecting wall 38 than an axis a2 passing through the center of the proximal end side.

With this configuration, when the elastic piece 30 is strongly stretched in association with the rotation of the lever 18, the axis a1 passing through the center position on the tip end side of the elastic piece 30 approaches the axis a2 passing through the center position on the base end side. Therefore, compared with the case where the axis a1 passing through the center position on the tip end side and the axis a2 passing through the center position on the base end side of the elastic piece 30 are positioned coaxially, the amount of displacement of the elastic piece 30 becomes large, and the elastic piece is more likely to enter between the projecting wall 38 and the upper surface (outer surface) 16A of the housing.

< other embodiment >

The technology disclosed in the present specification is not limited to the embodiments described above and illustrated in the drawings, and includes, for example, the following various embodiments.

(1) In the above embodiment, the lock portion 40 is configured to be located on the distal end edge 36 side of the elastic piece 30, but is not limited to this, and for example, the lock portion may be configured to be located at the center between the distal end edge and the base end of the elastic piece.

(2) In the above embodiment, the elastic piece 30 is provided in the pair of arm plates 24, but the present invention is not limited to this, and for example, the elastic piece may be provided only in one of the pair of arm plates.

(3) Although the lever-type connector 10 is configured as the female-type lever-type connector 10 including the female housing 14 in the above embodiment, the configuration in the above embodiment may be applied to a male-type lever-type connector.
